RK and Madhu - Can they apologize ?

27th April 2013

Forgive my NON-EPISODE related ramble here.  But this is directly stemming from the posts read here.

Sorry and RK

I think this is overly debated topic.  And I see that I have not cared to form any opinion on this topic. Why ? Because girls/women who are the major soap watchers will talk about sorry as if men are capable of saying it as easily as women can say it.  In India its not that common for us to men saying sorrys. In US here, yes...because Sorry is essential part of this Occident Culture.

Sorry essentially means I accept I am wrong or I might be causing hurt to you, or may have caused hurt to you and I regret that.

So why is that RK cannot say sorry or why is that he can say sorry.

Its simple, he can say sorry when he feels he is wrong and did something unintentionally or he cannot say sorry when he does not accept that he has been wrong.

Being sorry and asking sorry, involves a certain degree of repentance towards one's misdeed and sometimes consideration to others feelings.

Then truly the question for RK is...IS HE CAPABLE OF BEING REPENTANT or BEING CONSIDERATE?

  • There was one instance recently where RK apologized to his mother for yelling at her post coming back from Chawl on Holi day. The same day he again goes to Chawl hearing the shootout in hurry (he was in the middle of conversation with his mother then) and when he comes back, the very first thing he says to his mother...something in the words that expresses him apologizing for yelling at her earlier. So in this case, he was clear and he was able to apologize without any weighing on his mind or heart.

Then why is he having a problem saying sorry to MB or his Saasuma or to the entire World for carrying out Revenge Drama ?

Because the act was INTENTIONALLY a MISDEED. How can his apology set any correction there ? Or at the least...how can he ask Sorry without creating the Platform for Repentance.  I believe that for RK actions also speak as loud as his words. For sure his words are never Empty. So when he is ready to say Sorry, I am expecting that he would want to be forgiven as well.  As presently there is no scope that he is going to be forgiven for his misdeed, he sees no point in asking sorry.

People may say what an idiot or selfish man he is.  I would call it truly selfishness if I see no understanding in him. But as I see the drama...though RK forces MB to come live with him, RK alongside is creating a platform for himself and Madhu to vent her anger out that would give chance for him to show that now he can correct his intentions as opposed to previous times.  As he creates this field, it may become easy for him to atone for his act and at the same time for him to ask forgiveness.

Why this much of drama ? Well his act is NOT FORGIVABLE at all. Madhu should never look at his face again. But that is not happening right ? She came back to his sets again.  If they have to see other again, then...an acceptable field has to be built and RK is forcefully forging it.

The way I see it is...inspite of his craziness, crazy acts, RK is not acting insensible.  He does have a plan, otherwise, his questions would never go for essence of their relationship and bonding.

Now let me stop that harping ...as we will know about this sorry part...only in future tracks.

What I wanted to remind you all  is how once upon a time Madhu elicited FOUR SORRIES from RK to HER MOTHER.

It was her 24 hour challenge to RK and she gets RK to say Sorry to her mother.

Why RK said sorry then ?
He had intentionally insulted Padmini on his sets with the purpose of hurting Madhu in his Revenge days.  There could be no repentance at all and yet why did he say sorry ?
He could have been stubborn and said NO.

But why RK said sorry, is because he was protecting his vestigeal relationship with his Dad in the form of those Photographs. So he said sorry for his Dad. That can be called Consideration. Correct ?

And how did he curb his Ego ? By dousing himself in drink, and taking Madhu to Chawl and saying sorry like a parrot. She asked him to repeat, say it in decent words, he reads out full apology as if he is being sentenced by the Court...I Say Sorry for So and So Action Committed On Xyz date over the Sets or Natraj Studio...

So what I infer is saying Sorry or No Sorry ...they vary in his life.  Sometimes, they are too quick without any fuss, ado (to his mother), sometimes it needs blackmail/drink ( for his memories with his father),  sometimes he fakes it (like staircase sorry to MAdhu).   As I see it ...its not consistenly depicted for him...whether he will say Sorry or NOT.  Its better, we don't expect any sorry from him and just wait for repentant or considerate statements.

***********************************************************

On this note I would also like to remind Madhu's Use of BLACKMAIL/DECEIT and Apologies.

For the sake of her mother (who was her Guroor) Madhu did not think twice to use the photographs dropped at her door for blackmailing RK into saying Sorry to her mother as part of deal.

So why are we all now pouncing on Madhu, that she is taking revenge ? Madhu is capable of employing GREY MEANS to achieve her ENDS.  She does it when she is desperate to win.

So here in present case, I am sure she thinks RK as someone who is capable of killing Sultan and so she is doing everything possible to keep RK away from Sultan.  Because Madhu does not use the DIRTY means for herself. She used DIRTY means for fighting for others.  I can again be wrong...may be she is just too fed up with his EGO.

In that act of Blackmail, Madhu never felt it as wrong action. She would have never apologized to RK had she not asked why photos were so important and had he not explained the reason.

So even MAdhu is like RK. She will not apologize if she intentionally did wrong,

But then why did she apologize to RK ? She got to know the reason and she felt bad for the kid in RK. Her compassion kicked in.

Must say there are gaping holes and understanding as well in the story. I don't know at this point, if I want to dismiss CV's way of their characters characterizations or keep watching it the way they show them.

I think with minimal discussion, it will be a good show to watch. LOL

About RK's sorry

One thing RK keeps repeating to Madhu is that only he has the right to make her happy or make her sad. Only he has to right to love her or hurt her. Doesn't it also mean that he considers Madhu to  have the same rights? Even though he knows that Madhu is up to something he is playing along - thus giving her a chance to hurt him. He sees this as his punishment. RK has always been a man of action - he would prefer to be punished for his misdeeds than apologise for them.

I d'on't think he will believe Madhu's even after the jumping from balcony stunt. He knows she is as crazy as he is. But he will still play along because this time he is the one who wants to take out all the poison from Madhu's heart. But he still won't say sorry. He will force Madhu to forgive him through his actions. That's RK.

To his benefit, he gets Madhu to live with him. This gives him a chance to charm his way into her heart again (he knows very well just how difficult it is for anybody to resist him when the turns on the charm, the gorgeous rogue Embarrassed). Secondly, he manages to keep her away from Sultan as much as possible.

It is not that he doesn't trust Madhu with Sultan. He trusts her completely. However, he has seen in Sultan's eyes what Madhu's couldn't see. He know Sultan is trying to compete with him for Madhu's affections. And Madhu is at a place where she can fall for somebody on the rebound (it happens a lot and rarely ends well). That is the reason he brought her home forcibly - it was a panic reaction after seeing her bonding with Sultan and Aryan on the Holi day.

Responded by Myself
This is so true.  I have seen it, I have felt it...We can control...but the urge is too strong and we don't care how bad our decision looks, all we want to do is fill the heart's empty places with some replaceable items...In restrospect, I consider those few days on high slowly subsiding to calming down to see that replacement is not working...and may be new shelfs need to be bought for new kind of arrangements with the same set of old items...that phase of being unhinged...I never call it as silly or stupid.  I always look at those days...what a miracle to have scraped through.   What I did was I had collected friends...I confided in mom and another colleague at work place and I cut-out rest of the old world for a while.  That helped me subside down emotions wise and I reworked on what had hurt me so bad.   Its a soap and we are in a forum here discussing it...one argument we try to give in support, others come as morally wrong etc.   Thing is heart/emotions rarely take the path of moral ground. Heart just knows what is it that is giving peace, stability, the ability to feel.

Away from the forum...without any need to form any opinion...I see nothing too wrong in what they are trying to show.  And so right now, Rishabh is actually the most correct one to heal Madhu.  This is so right.  In real life, hurt people like Madhu would pine for these things to happen to them, but it seldom happens.  This is soap and Madhu gets lucky to have her man come back again to her,  See how Madhu's so called stony RIshabh came back after her.  She was scared when she first saw him on the set. Slowly she saw he still cared for her, she saw he still loved her and that's when reassured about his feelings for her, she started taking out the pent up anger in her. She pushed him away so much that he ended up reclaiming her. And now she wants to hurt him in the same manner.  The way I see it...I feel as if Madhu wants to have tumultous melt-down in tears, in Rishabh's arms, physically man-handling him even in his tight embrace, where she would want to yell at him, ask him how could he hurt her that way when he loves her this much.  She is doing all this for that heart-felt cry in his arms and with him understanding each word of hers and yet not letting her slip at all.

I didn't want to write this, but then I shared it.LOL
