Episode 201 Discussion: 21st Feb 2013

The reliving and letting go of good and bad memories by the Ex-Husband and Ex-Biwi

Events of the Episode
  1. Madhu goes to the Vanity van to meet RK as per heroine boss' order. RK is actually waiting for her. Madhu is determined not to fight with RK even if he instigates her.
  2. RK asks her to give a head massage. Madhu in order to show him as not getting affected by him and just acting as his hair-dresser, goes out to get oil.
  3. When she brings it back, she spills some oil on the lower step of the vanity van. She calls out for Spot Dada (bhai) to come and clean it and forgetfully also says that "if not cleaned RK will"... this is completed by RK.."not like it..." He goes on to taunt her that she is so hurt and broken and yet she has not stopped caring for others including for enemies like him.
  4. She gets ready to give him head massage. In the process her dupatta is stuck to his chair, she removes it...a scene that brings discomfort to both. The song "Bin tere" starts to play. As she massages him, she goes back into her memories of her previous time when she gave him the massage. He too remembers it and stiffens. After a while he stops her.
  5. As she begins to leave, he gives her back another memory of theirs of the back massage which happened in their hate phase. As he tries to instigate her into fighting, Madhu decides to ignore him and leave.
  6. On her way out, Madhu slips over the oily step and trips on to the ground, twisting her leg. She cries in pain. RK hearing her cry, panics and gets out, sees Madhu on the ground. He picks up her hurt foot and starts massaging it. As she cries in pain, he asks if its hurting her. The tenderness in his eyes for her, stops Madhu in her track and she keeps looking at him wondering at his concern.
  7. Soon Madhu tries to extricate herself from his hold and gets up. RK leans by the side of the vanity van and sees Madhu struggling to get up. Inspite of her protests, he picks her up and asks the crew around to get a chair for her.
  8. When he deposits her on the chair, he leans closer to her and tells her that the fight is off until her foot hurt goes away as he likes to fight her being in equal capacity. And he also tells her that no one except him has the right to hurt or defeat her. Madhu keeps on looking at him.
  9. Bittuji offers Madhu that he shall drop her at home. She refuses and takes auto to home. Madhu reaches home and Trishna and he mom are worried about her hurt foot. Trishna applies ointment on Madhu's ankle sprain. Madhu doesn't tell them what caused the hurt.
  10. RK, Bittuji are going back home. Along the way as RK keeps remembering the day with Madhu and her fall, he regrets that he had been the cause of her hurt. He asks Bittuji and his driver Rajesh to take a taxi and he himself drives away alone to some place.
  11. At the chawl, Padmini asks Madhu to leave the job as working for RK has caused that physical hurt. She becomes apprehensive of more hurts to come her daughter's way. Madhu refuses.

Episode Reviews

By Myself

Khel Khel Mein everything became serious for the two. Super serious. How ? Because its not about the hate for each other. Its about the love for each other that turned it bad for them. I felt the pain that both were undergoing. Today it was about RK(the one who loves her) and Madhu.

For me...I have never much delved deep into Why RK spurned Madhu's love and instead made it a revenge game. Infact I am more like Madhu, who recognized what made RK reject her, his Ego, his Ahankaar, seeing that massive size poster of his. And from the very beginning I am saying that getting cheated doesn't hurt her as much as him not loving her hurts her. It baffles her to no end how could his ego could have won over her love. When she had come to her senses and as he was not in physical proximity to her, she could never question him about that. She was tad too late in coming out of her shock and was unable to give a proper verbal closure to her questions when RK right in front of her was doing all that un-wedding drama. When she realized it later at the chawl, she was late and all that tangible reality left on her hands was that he led her on, cheated her.  Yes, there are certain things we cannot tell everyone...those matters of heart are best kept as secret. This she had to accept and decided to move on as that is the answer to any kind of cheating in the world.

Two days of holding her head high as the Hair Dresser before RK the Superstar actually did Madhu a lot of good. She indeed could see that she was moving on. Where it went seemingly wrong or seemingly right for her was when RK called her to vanity van today. Going to that Vanity Van was really a mammoth moment for her, as she was in a dilemma in which capacity she was going to meet him, as the Hair dresser or as his Ex-Wife. She really needed that courage. Once she met him and as she came out of that meeting, everything had changed for Madhu. Everything. The man gave her a BIG GAPING CLUE what she means to him. He made HER HIS Permanent Mark.. He said directly to her with a wink just for her eyes, but holding her in his gaze, leaning over her so closely over her chair, in a caging manner before everyone else that, "Only he has the right to hurt her and defeat her, no one else has".  What should a woman do now. Feel elated, Feel tormented or Feel great ?

If Madhu is a vengeful person looking for revenge, she shall realize that She is RK's weakness and she can make RK her fiddlestick.

If Madhu is a person trying to get far far away from RK, the she shall feel tormented that this man is never going to leave her alone. But seriously its been just 4 days. And without a proper closure between herself and RK, how can her heart just forget what she feels for him, even now. Its not the time yet for her to feel tormented.

If Madhu believed that RK loves her and that it is his big fat ego that will not accept that and instead tries to destroy what they can have, then just for her own conviction, she shall feel elated.

The way Madhu gave those expressions to RK as he winked and stated his equation with her, his ordinance for her, she was just looking at him, a pensive face trying to absorb what he did where her body(governed by her mind) was still showing resistance but her eyes and heart very much okay with what he was doing to her. She was as usual trying to read his eyes, but since she knows he is such a good actor that she is now in self-doubt and hence inspite of reading what his eyes expressed, reserving the knowledge for recapitulation at later stage.

It can be clearly said that, it is this moment that tells Madhu that as ordinary girl she might have moved on, but as the woman who loved RK to no end, gets all her latent anger back. The anger, the realization that he loves her as much as she loves him, just that he will never tell her. How pathetic and lonesome feeling is that. She knows it, but cannot talk about it to anybody, neither her family, her friends, even to her conscious mind. She can be with only her heart and this hurt when she projects on RK, she becomes the adamant Madhu who is the one who cluelessly gets affected by him. It is for her now how she can get it back to normalcy. I guess she will now fight with him equally as ego clash, as RK wanted that from her. Right ? He doesn't say he loves her or cares for her, but he says, no one can hurt you other than me. No one can defeat you other than me. She holds the key to him. So its all upto her if she wants to be vengeful or loving as always or get tormented by him.

The way she stood up for herself against her mother and said she will stand up against RK, it was anger and frustration expressed. But truth is she has to do what makes her feel good and not what hurts her more. Anyways for me MAdhu has been one character whose expressions and actions come as a surprise as she doesn't show them at all. She is not an easily read face like RK thinks.

Now coming to RK...the game changer. Why when his challenge and torment game was going on so smoothly, he had to ruin it all by calling Madhu to his vanity van ? Did it start after what he felt when her hair dryer was broke ? Because that is when he planned further torture. If Madhu was in a dilemma of how to meet RK, even RK was in a dilemma how to meet her, as a Superstar or as her Ex-Husband. Well ...something happened between the two...as each depended on the other to give a cue to him/her to get out of the dilemma, and they mutually decide that they will act Superstar and Hair-dresser, but they are going to be the Ex-Husband and Ex-Wife. It comes out so naturally and acceptable to both of them. I am not sure why they were testing out each other or actually not clawing each other, but just living their waning relationship.

He might have asked her to give a head massage expecting that her hate and disgust for him, will make her refuse him. But she is okay to give him the massage as she wants to tell her mind that he is no more capable of affecting her. This surprises RK and he has to play along. Inpite of being taunting to her every second, as she keeps genuinely showing to him that she wants to be rid of him and so will do everything he asks of her without reacting in any anger, it touches him, warms up his heart. And may be a tad relieved or tad hurt that she is moving in a direction she actually should move on. So he stops her from further massage and goes on to do the rest...the reminder of another back-massage act, which was a scene between the two when hate was there. It clicks for him. Madhu does get out of her emotions and understands his instigation to her to fight with him and just leaves the place without any fight.

However, destiny, fate has always something else set for them. Madhu has to fall and the apple cart of determination for the genuine couple trying to separate, all toppled into thin air. The man cannot hide his concern and the woman could not cajole herself to take his help (it would have been okay to accept his help if she just wanted to move on...as she could still be indifferent, like he and she showed their indifference to the head massage, even if it was a pretension).  The fall, the concern, the affectation at his care, everything ruins for both of them...and for a while, RK just leaves every plan/facade of his to air and shows himself to her and tells her what he feels for her. It is upto Madhu how she takes it...RK knows that. But he is like, that shall be dealt later, but first let me take care of myself.  So that's what happened. He drove of all alone.

In all of this, he knows that he wants to protect Madhu from himself, from his viciousness. He actually wants Madhu to be far far away from him so that she can never get hurt from him or his love. Methinks, he feels that his love for her is destructive and so he is okay is she is just away from him. He has not planned much as to what else can happen tomorrow to their relationship, but his good part (I call it the RK part) today reached out to her and showed a little bit of his side to her and actually delivered that part of him to her and he himself is apprehensively waiting to see what Madhu would do to it.

In all of today's episode, there was no Rishabh. There was only RK; his stronger self acting and presenting. He acted on spur as he is that much in love with Madhu and he wanted to his best for Madhu to get rid of him and his memories and yet he was not helped;  and when not helped, just bared himself to her. Come on now, after this scene today, who will deny that the crew there do not recognize them. Almost everyone knew that Superstar and the Hair-dresser were just fighting it out, but the real fight was all between the Ex Husband and Ex-Wife.

Precap - I hate it because Dips is there. Wish I could shoot her down. Wish I could cut her to 100 pieces the way I felt cut when I read the written update. It made me pukish and so revolted that I felt like boycotting MEIEJ for today and tomorrow. Then I felt, I will be the loser...so better I watch it. Methinks, RK is planning an act with Dips to give another riddance of memories for Madhu. He is just trying to make it quick for her to forget him. We have to see if fate/destiny will not again betray his efforts and he ends up delivering another piece of him to Madhu. Because giving piece by piece to Madhu, he is strengthening her to fight his bad side...but this is MEIEJ...so we never know the thriller portion.

IMO,this whole drama has once again boiled down to a battle of egos more than anything else.

RK's ego is known by all and sundry. But Madhu's stubbornness ,ego is cloaked under the garb of moving on in life and facing the demons heads-on rather than cowering. Even in the beginning of the show, it was this stubbornness and ego that made her take on the superstar, cloaked under the garb of being righteous and providing so-called justice to some spineless sadakchaap ladka!!!

I felt it quit evident in the RK-Madhu scene at the entrance of the vanity and during the dinner-table Padmini scene. Is she actually just being strong and not cowering in front of her enemy and moving on or is it more than that? I have always found Madhu's character to be on the lighter side of the grey spectrum but it's portrayed so subtly and chocolate wrapped that people tend to miss it unlike RK's who is on the darker side of grey and very clearly portrayed. After today's episode, I don't really find myself rooting for Madhu...Ok... May be am jumping the bandwagon early... kal kisne dekha...i might come back in support of Madhu...

Yeh dono pagal ladey ya marey, am not going to side with anyone and become a pagal along with them...

RK: At the moment he is the most confused banda on the show... He is sandwiched!!! CV's ka yeh twist ne uske dimaag ko pehle se bhi zyada twist kar diya hai!!! You might find this thought of mine crazy... but today I thought he called her to do the champi coz y'day she was jhadofying the word "Mamooli" too much!!! But then he got so affected by her touch making both of them weak and vulnerable... He quickly came out of it and reminded both of them of the massage during the early days of their marriage, reminding himself and her of his bad-boy image, and helping her gain back the much needed strength to come out of her vulnerability in his very own twisted way...

Bittuji: His self-talk almost sounded like an omen for me... Hope am proven wrong...

ETA: Everytime, I hear this Hauslon se veer hoon song, i tend to go into a comedy mood... Sorry if it actually offends anyone

The only scene that caught my attention today was
Madhu's last scene with padmini today..
She is never so stern/aggressive with her mom..But today she was... and did not want to BACK OUT of her decision even though she probably knew that her mom was right. Even the other day (tuesday)  when radha came to do the pep-talk... Madhu did not respond to her the way she usually does and did not accept anything what she suggesting...It was only later on that she made the decision by HERSELF (even though a lot of people in this thread say is a stupid one)... She is still an emotional person but her decisions now are not made keeping someone else in mind(in the case of mukund or radha/trishna during the love confession) or her decisions are not made because someone is encouraging her to do so...
They are her OWN decisions made for HERSELF and therefore does not want to BACK DOWN. So this is more for herself that she is doing rather than for proving
RK wrong or making someone else happy.

ok enough of this bashan about madhu's attitude change.. probably even madhu would not have given it so much thought. I am really addicted to MEIEJ...

Krithika,
Word it.   Agree on everything you said there.  Actually as a psychological bounceback, every cheated person loses confidence and hence to get back their confidence, nothing will make them feel better than them participating in their decision. So even if someone advises them, they need to enter into an argument with it and then decide what they would like to do.
Yes this time, Madhu is ALL ABOUT PROVING to HERSELF, RK and The WORLD the WAY SHE WANTS THEM to PERCEIVE HER.

Shri,
Loved Loved Loved  your review today !!!  Again, reading your take on the episode adds a whole new dimension to the show - in a way, it makes me hooked to this show, try as I might in staying unaffected - again the pain is very much real to me.
You nailed it when you said that Madhu was ok with whatever he did today, she put a semblance of physical resistance, but no extreme reaction. I found it so endearing the way she caressed his hair, there was no anger/irritation but it had tenderness as if for the love that had been - to me the  episode brought the purity of the love that they shared, as if the betrayal could not taint the beauty of the moments spent together.
Also, when Rk shows concern for her  in his voice, it's as if she would did not break with his insults again totally melted with a little tenderness from him.
Madhu-Padmini interaction was good- it just shows that Madhu can show her steely resolve to everyone including her mom.

Thank you Kodai.
@ bold 1.
100% true. Pure moments of love felt stay with us for eternity. And for positive minds and also by power of love, those moments of love are always worth it. Like a draught of ambrosia. Even if betrayal happens in relationships, one tends to move forwards with good memories because they are source of energy and we feel good about it. Eventually relationships with that background reform into new equations between the same people.

@ bold 2
Madhu now atleast knows that her man loves her in a twisted manner and her anger will be unleashed in full for his drama...just that viewers may not see Madhu acknowledging this yet. The only ack I got from her, towards her knowing truth was the way she took her internal anger on her mother. Actually speaking Madhu is bodily expressing out a lot of her pain and anger. She is walking fast, she is tripping, she is holding herself high with RK inspite of being nervous, and with her mother, with whom Madhu is so close, very rightfully she is taking her anger, be it tightly gripping her wrists (in the saree/mangalsutra putting away scene) or showing her open anger. The only two people she is actually being on same wavelength is Trishna and Bittuji. because both of them are very afraid of her and also concerned for her and for not a minute doubting her confidence. because when you are low in dumps, it only matters who is giving you space and not imposing on you. Madhu's recuperation is psychologically being shown so correctly that I am impressed. Soon RK will come under her umbrella of anger.

By Soundarya (towards Kodai's post on the bolded portions)
@bold - i agree. That scene actually was quite beautiful, with both of them lost in their own world of memories. That's just it. Even in hate, indifference, fake love whatever, their world is their own, as a couple, they have always been like that. And to think we were all so nervous about it!
There was something about Madhu giving it back to her mom, that I am not able to put my finger on. It will come to me I suppose. Again, something about this fight / challenge being in its own rarefied level, just between her and RK. Noone is allowed to enter it, even out of concern for her. It's almost like the Ganpati time when she dared him to pick up the idol, and take it out. She kept on daring him, he kept on accepting her dares . Now it's the reverse case.

i don't know if I'm expressing myself clearly. Somebody help.

what did rk think he was going to be doing while madhu was scratching his head???
The awkward moment...

Syl,

Well !! today I shall take it not as RK and Madhu individually fooling each other or themselves, the person who was standing behind the two was Destiny. He failed both of them at what they were really good and adept at fighting. He just made it a little more futile for them...all efforts are futile and yet so much burden on the heart to prove to each other, to themselves and to the world, that indeed they will succeed in moving on.

Episode 200 Discussion: 20th Feb 2013

Superstar Vs Hair-Dresser or Ex-Husband Vs Ex-Biwi ? Feeling sandwiched ?!

Events of the Episode
  1. Another beautiful episode. Continuing their fight in the Vanity Van, the Ex-Husband and Ex-Biwi end up throwing and accepting a challenge of how the hair-dresser is going to ousted in 3 days from her job and how the hair-dresser is going to retain her job for next 30 days until the prod shoot schedule gets completed.
  2. Trishna is worried that Madhu's challenge with RK may not turn awry as RK is so capable of crossing all limits. Madhu assures her that she is not afraid as earlier she was in limits and so RK could get away and that now she won't back down to break her limits if need be.
  3. Bittuji worried explains all this to Radhaji the next morning as she comes back from Pooja. Radhaji asks him not to worry for the 3 days tough fight as something good will come out of their bitter fights.
  4. RK catches Bittuji's fear and asks what he is so afraid of  and who is going to upset RK's apple cart. Radhaji tries to cover up thinking her son must have overheard something...which comes out so silly that we laugh at the scene.
  5. Bittuji and RK leave for studio earlier than other days as RK wants to be prepared for his Hair-dresser ousting challenge. There likewise, Madhu is also charged up is leaving. Padmini and Trishna gift her a hair-dryer for her job.
  6. At the studio, shooting is going on. Its a 12 minute scene and worth watching the dynamics of the scene. The shoot is going on okay until RK's heroine and her hair-dresser turn up on the set. RK becomes the abnoxious, impossible guy, who to torment Madhu, starts complaining to his heroine about her hair. Madhu is called to do resetting of hair, director is made to look into the hair problem. In all of this Madhu is still indifferently holding on to her duty with her acknowledging only Heroine and the director as her bosses.
  7. RK disrupts the shooting three times. In the end he incites the heroine into mistrusting Madhu which causes her to throw away her hair-dryer. Madhu feels bad, does not show tears, RK is happy and continues the shoot. When director announces Lunch break, RK plots with his female costar to lend him her hair-dresser. Madhu who is having her lunch with Bittuji is disrupted and asked by the heroine to go and meet RK in his vanity Van. Madhu is surprised and upsetting looks on for seeing no rationale in the heroine's order...Episode ends.

Episode Reviews

Marking the 200th Episode with memories around celebrity hair-styling and Stylists because nothing is as crazy and as relevant as this.
  • Madhu is the hair stylist to RK's heroine and the feline fight is going on between the two over hair styling as the back-bone of their animosity. The entire episode is about hair-styling, hair-dressing equipment tod-fod and it is also about hair-stylist borrowing with precap about head and hair-massage.
  • Live Chat with Vivian Dsena and Drashti Dhami

DD mentions how VD does his RK hair-style for 15 minutes between shots and how everyone gets frustrated with his time. And VD confesses its really difficult for his hair to have the RK style crumpled/posh look as his hair keeps falling down...so doing between the shots makes sense.

****************The Feline Fight*****************

Yesterday's feline fight...that I felt vibes about when I watched it...I couldn't help myself and ended up watching all the available You Tube videos on Lion and Lioness fighting in the night. Not one was interesting to me...reminding me sorely of those that I had watched over NGC and Discovery Channels. But still I enjoyed...

Somehow my mind is so filled up with their new DNA of romance LOL, that here unable to watch the episode between work...but am watching lion fights with my coffee breaks and boring work at the table.

So here it is. Have fun...well those who have my frame of mind will sure have fun.

The problem is that lioness usually live in their pride (group) and here Madhu is alone...unless metaphorically i shall club all her silent supporters as her pride LOL

My analysis later ...
But I am enjoying the words you are using...cartoon and cheap...lol Expected. Wasn't it ?

Take 2
Watched the episode. Liked the episode very much. Though earlier in the day, I made light-hearted posts, but very much relevant to the theme of day's episode, be it the Hair-styling and Hair-dressers or the territorial or honour fight between the two wild cats, this time it is my episode take on a serious note. I have not read any reviews and at the risk of sounding repetitive, I start off.

Today MEIEJ lived up to its original concept and what a day, it had to be done on its 200th episode. The show was supposed to be about Film Industry with the upper-strata of the Superstar and the underbelly, the lower strata without whom the industry will not exist. Yesterday, this topic was touched by my our posters here. But today, that superstar weight and Underbelly existence was prominently showed through the leads. RK as the Superstar and Madhu as the hair-dresser amidst the entire shoot schedule for 12 minutes brought out the coordination, the conflict, the cooperation that is needed for a production schedule. They beautifully brought out the logistical issues that can upset the entire shoot schedule on the production floor.

The production floor and the shooting scene.
The entire set and shooting was amazing to me and that work place ambience so kicked in for me that I was like...God!!! for how long we bore that  stupid kitchen, bedroom and living room drama at RK Mansion and the chawl. This shooting was just great to see.
After a long time, when I watched the episode, I was not concerned of RK and Madhu as that great pair with good chemistry and promise of their own drama which is gripping and interesting. Today I was watching it as if I was an independent observer of the floor and saw how the shooting was going on with the Roll Sound, Camera Rolling, Action from the director, Scene Note from the technician and the cameramen starting their work with the actors doing the work. What did I see today ? A Superstar, a New actress, the production crew, the Hair-dresser from the crew being tormented and ultimately who was looking the most frustrated and tormented of all ?! Not Madhu, but the Director. His face was far more piteous than Madhu's.

The Privileged versus the Underprivileged
Coming to the superstar and the hair-dresser, Madhu was a perfect match to RK in today's drama. I am sure, in real life, at real prod schedules that stars cannot totally disregard the crew. So that way, the way Madhu was shining in dignity was simply superb to see. Else we would never have had people like Saroj Khan or Prabhudeva revered. Those are just the choreographers coming to my mind, but I am sure the hairdressers, costume  make up artists etc also, without any fail do reserve their dignity and can command even the actors...except when the director fails to protect them with the starry weight around. Today that was shown clearly. The director was frustrated with RK. And he knew the superstar was being difficult and starts making personal attacks on him before his crew. So he showed his displeasure to Madhu. Madhu who was concerned about reporting only to her attributed boss and responsibilities was reporting to the director that hair was looking good but when he showed his displeasure, understanding his source of frustration, did not argue and was obediant. Clearly the hierarchial structures were being visible to all.

I think I can go awn and awn at the the entire thing because I am in such a daze, I will stop and go by individiual characters today.

VD as Superstar RK
Liked him in his Policeman Wardi. Simply adorable and cute the way he sat with that Dabangay dress of Salman Khan. And the way he played the obnoxious, self-important star, was commendable. As a superstar RK knew where to draw the line. When he incites the heroine to throw away the hair dryer, he goes and rubs salt on Madhu further by saying she is coming in the middle of the frame. This was intentionally made for the director, whose patience could have broken anytime, so instead of continuing on more tormenting, he grabbed the opportunity or getting one point up on the scale with Madhu and the director that he now is willing to finish the scene.
And at home, when he got ready early in the morning for his shoot, he was again the apprehensive guy, who was thinking all his well-wishers praying for his fall, defeat. Here it was his mother and Bittuji. In his inflated ego, he is thinking they are praying against him and so he is all solo, he has not yet started seeing that they had actually conspired against him. He still lives in some kind of illusion.
When he sees Bittuji closely chatting with his mother or Madhu, RK is not saying anything to him. He is not yelling at him. Methinks he was so happy that Bittuji decided to be back after resigning that he is now compensating Bittuji with his heart-felt desire of going against himself emotionally by siding with his mother and Madhu. He is okay with this arrangement with his long time friend. Shows his lonesomeness inspite of everything he has in life.

DD as Hair-dresser Madhu
Liked her red and black simple suit. Minus that dupatta, it is veru much my taste. I wear suits sans dupatta and have been wearing like that since 2000 when Delhi was like still...where is your dupatta ?! DD's makeup and hair-style was all very appealing to me. Because all of it points to a working woman without lehraate hue, udte hue baal (no flowing and blowing hair). Madhu as that hair-dresser today looked so confident and skillful that I was envious of her confidence and deft hands. She was doing her work and taking her position back at her corner, watching the shoot. Everything about her attitude and persona was "I mean business and not non-sense". Liked her very much. Well today DD and Madhu, finally made sense to me though I never complained DD's role-play in kitchen as well. DD actually acts very well when doing working roles such as cutting vegetables, cooking, folding clothes, or this hair-dressing, she has skillful hands and all of this today added life to Madhu's character as the underbelly/backbone of the Film Industry.

Bittuji
Today, he looked such a compassionate person. He was the only one very much worried for Madhu. Trishna was worried, but Bittuji seeing it in front of his eyes was very worried and I liked that about him today.

Radhaji
yes, they showed her in the beginning as a person who knew the dynamics of shooting and crew roles and all, but now her confidence that the 3 days challenge will bring out something good was just too much for me to absorb. But that is just my apprehension and I will not blame her, because she has a stake in the overall plan. She wants Madhu to win and that is her investment and of course she will be bullish (optimistic) about it.

Trishna and Padmini
They have mellowed down. Padmini far more since her cursing. But then I should not complain. What bombastic dialogues I would want them to give her now. But yes as a house-keeper, I would like to remind Padmini that "beti ke gham mein, hari-patti ki sabji fridge mein rakhna bhool gayin" ( that she forgot to keep the green-leafy vegetables in the refridgerator in her daughter's pain).  The spinach she had bought the previous night when Radhaji came to visit them had now been there out in the stand for more than 36 hours and hence the wilting.  Lol!!! Watch the scene.

And Arti Puri, her voice is hoarse. Seems she is having throat infection. But how come she forgot that she still has that 20 lakhs from Balraj ??? What a blooper. Sigh!!!

And finally Rishbala and their challenge between them. Amidst the studio drama of the Superstar Versus the Hairdresser, I could not much give weight to their personal equation. Not sure, how I will perceive this tomorrow. Because I do know that Madhu other than just being the hair-dresser, very well was throwing her weight on her Ex-husband if he was throwing his weight on his Ex-Biwi. Not just a dramatic requirement, but the chemistry between RK and Madhu clearly is inflammable. Their love story did not flare up so much as their hate story is now flaring up. When in each other's personal spaces, they mock each other as Superstar and ordinary girl, but in their eyes, they treat each other so equal and yet so worm like worthy of all squashing. Its just interesting to see without applying any principles of regular romance and just watch them like two wild cats.

All jokes apart, one thing that comes across is the plight of these unseen unsung heros who contribute towards each scene. I mean the make up artists and other technicians. The amount of incredibly atrocious behavior they have to put up with is simply mind blowing. To face it every day,  not knowing what will set off these lead actors and what pacifies them it is like a balancing act on a rope. And the remunition they get for their long hours of slogging is just pittance. Kudos to these people in the serial and also in the real life.

I forgot to congratulate MB team. Indeed great work by the entire unit to keep us hooked on.  Great job and you guys deserve all the praise. Thank you very much.

MM - @bold- That's what I liked about the scene. It was taken at such a slow pace, we got a' real time' experience of what it must be like to face starry tantrums, and keep mum because well, he's the star.
SD- Completely agree with your post. Every word of it.
Film studio scene:
i kept wondering ...why did n't people react to this drama between RK and MADHU?? It seems abnormal to watch all of them with impassive faces. But we are reacting like normal, everyday people. In the film world these kind of spats with wives, gfs, ex wives, mistresses must be routine. So the crew learns to ignore it and do their own thing...at the end  of the day, as long as the shot gets complete, they can stoically move ahead. After all the show must go on. In real life, I remember when Salman-Aishwarya were going around, and they broke up, there were constant reports on how Salman would land up at her shooting, disrupt the schedule till she left the shooting with him. in fact, she was replaced in a SRK movie (Chalte Chalte, Rani replaced her)  because Salman came on the sets and threw a big tantrum, and SRK being the producer, could afford to take that call. Theirs was a similar relationship...passionate, she was besotted, so was he, but it was unhealthy, physical abuse involved. In fact, a few years later, when she had moved on in life, i remember her being very bitter that noone in the film industry stood up for her.Imagine, she was a star herself, Miss World and yet she faced the brunt of his tantrums. Aishwarya being aishwarya, indicated this very subtly.  Our Madhu is after all a hairdresser on his sets.
So yes, I was fascinated with the whole atmosphere, the shooting, the superstar arrogance, the frustrated secretary, hassled director, gritting his teeth but forced to cow down and yell at the hairdresser instead. If they all knew this was a personal thing going on between ex hubby and ex wife, they pretended to ignore it and follow the Superstar's lead on how to treat his ex wife. At some point, one of them will cross the line at insulting her, causing Rk to turn his sights on that unlucky person.

DNA of Romance
For me, the betrayal at the altar was the worst, most humiliating thing he could have done to Madhu. It took me, a long time to accept it. Now whatever he does, he has no control over the situation. he is the one, reacting to her like as if they are a couple. Will she also behave like they're a couple? Plus, whatever he does to humiliate her, will ricochet back to him, he is going to be equally hurt or more. If it's revenge, he will be surprised at the hurt, it causes him. If he's pretending revenge, then too he will be hurt at not being able to control this drama.
For Madhu, this is uni dimensional, she needs to get over him, period. She is not going to be looking at straws to clutch. Their pre-caps are always mis leading. My only hope is she does'nt cry during the champi. After having told him, my tears are out of stock, don't want her to cry in front of him.
I am more irritated with the promo. Even that, somewhere, we don't know Madhu's reactions to him carrying her. She did say yesterday that she is willing to cross all limits with him. So we have to wait and watch, will she actually do it? She did try yesterday, twice...once: she insisted the hair style was perfect, two: she continued using the hair dryer till she was reprimanded.

Congo to the MEIEJ on the completion of 200 episodes!!!
They reminded us of the great Salim-Javed-AB trio of the '70's
The sher-sherni ki ladai  turned into a Tom and Jerry fight!!!!

Madhu- This whole thing for me is turning out to be more like she wanting to prove something to him than it is for herself. I may be wrong but nevertheless, not able to shake of that feeling... Just 10  mins back, she was saying, I don't deem you fit to play with me,etc and the moment he challenges, you are drawn towards it and you took it up!!!!

RK- the less said the better... He seems to be reaching new heights of stupidities... Ultimately he did end up praising her work!!!
The poor debutante Shraddha became the Bali ka Bakra (Sacrificial lamb)!!
The only thing that I loved about the episode was when RK received a call and Madhu without giving a damn continued to use the dryer...

Btw, do the hair dressers use their own equipment? I thought the PH bears all the expenses of the equipment...
