Episode 161 Discussion: 4th Jan 2013

Shamsher professes his love for Padmini and Hauslon Se Veer Hoon Modified :)
Episode 161  Discussion: 4th Jan 2013

Events of the Episode
  1. Padmini thinks over her past 20 years with Shamsher around her. She is disgusted of that red saree that reminds her of Balraj and his barbarity.
  2. Shamsher professes his love for Padmini, something that he realized just over the last two days at the prompting of his children, but now understands that he had been loving her for the last 20 years and can't  think of being separated from her and their kids. They are his life.
  3. Padmini cherishingly eats the food cooked by Shamsher. Seems she is ready. Alas Shamsher is not to be seen around the next morning when she goes to thank him for the food prepared by him. Padmini runs madly over the Mumbai streets when she finds a letter informing her that Shamsher has left them for good.
  4. RK makes Madhu chant her Hauslon se veer hoon mantra. But changes Apne maa ke sahaare to Apne RK ke sahaare, He too chants along with her and calling himself as Yoohin Balbeer hoon. Earlier, Padmini at the beginning of the episode too had chanted the mantra with Ishwar ke sahaare yoohin Balbeer hoon. In the precap, Balraj comes to the chawl and sees Padmini and Madhu. So sirening here that Balraj is set against a gearing up party of his foes (his wife, daughter and their beaus).
Respites first.
Again the contrived clunk. Padmini calls her SAGI DAUGHTER first that Malik is gone and not her elder, unmarried and living with her STEP DAUGHTER !!!! Gross partiality or SO OBVIOUSLY contrived clunk by CVs to have Balraj see Madhu along with Padmini.

The way Padmini ran in that jet speed manner, again the insensitive me was hilariously laughing. Tomorrow its going to be fun.

Zorica,You got it. Though Shamsher did not offer any marriage to Padmini, he did speak about his love for her. Well she was not even ready to hear him... but she did hear him.

Review
Hearing Shamsher's feelings, when he said..."main bahta hi chala gaya..." I was remembering this song which I head in various dance shows and on radio...Behne de mujhe behne de. I searched on YouTube. Found that it is from Raavan.

Undoubtedly the episode had to be watched for Shamsher professing his love for Padmini. And the song I earlier was mentioning does express Shamsher's pent up feelings for Padmini. Him saying...yes, really what is the relationship between us? was really honorable of him. Because as a man he needed to tell that to the woman whom he loved. If it was hidden, there was no need to tell. But as it had come out in the open, there was no point not saying it. If he had not it would have been something to be ashamed of between the two. I loved the contrast...Padmini reminiscing her life with Shamsher, her throwing away her red saree in disgust, remembering the barbarity of Balraj...and her mixed tears of pleasure and pain with recalled memories against Shamsher's serene and proud face. That was such a beautiful sight to see. If only Padmini had been seeing the face, how the man who loved her felt so proud to be in love with her and lived his life happily without thinking of anything else...so lost in her and her children's happiness.  She would have been in seventh heaven! She actually was. Which woman would not feel like to be loved, cared and treated as everything. Such a contrast from the man she had to wed !!!! Such a vast difference. How would she resist this love? Doesn't that tempt her ? Well I don't know if she will ever get tempted by Shamsher's selflessness and his love for her, but certainly her respectful regard for him won over her and she was so lovingly appreciating the food he brought for her.

Now...the clunk...
Why would the proud man, who was beaming with such a smile and professing his love...leave his woman in distress like that?  That "Ghor chod ke jaana drama" was totally CLUNK. Because Shamsher's face was showing the promise that he would be able to woo his woman in due time. But alas CVs and their dramas. That leaving and Padmini running on roads on Mumbai Mahanagar...is just distasteful.  If Shamsher's face was serious and matter of fact mannered and if he had not cooked food for Padmini, then his leaving would have made sense to me. So clunk plot for clunk drama.

The very private and precious moment between Padmini and Shamsher.
To me...as I watched it, I felt that it was Padmini the hunted woman delivering an unwanted baby girl for her husband...being supported by a stranger, a man, who did look handsome in that hospital...him signing as the baby's father. Its really an odd place to be in for Padmini, but if she chose to forget everything in the name of formality and protocol, she had everything in that moment. A woman after giving birth to a baby when she becomes a mother, she altogether becomes a different person. She is the happiest in her new providing state to the baby and yet when she sees a man standing besides her, I guess she might naturally feel proud about it.

Disclaimer...I am not a mother. So i might not be accurate there. No offence meant to mothers here. You are welcome to correct me in my understanding of that scene. Just that my womanly instincts made me feel so.

Now the other thing I liked today...the three variations of the Hauslon se Veer hoon chanting

Padmini chants for herself
Hauslon se veer hoon
Sankaton mein Dheer hoon
Dushmano ki Bheer hoon
Apne Ishwar ke sahaare, Bas Yoohin Balbeer hoon

RK made Madhu chant
Hauslon se veer hoon
Sankaton mein Dheer hoon
Dushmano ki Bheer hoon
Apne RK ke sahaare, Bas Yoohin Balbeer hoon

RK chanted for himself
Hauslon se veer hoon
Sankaton mein Dheer hoon
Dushmano ka Bheer hoon
Bas Yoohin Balbeer hoon

The way I see it is ...all three set againt Balraj...the Dushman
Padmini by invoking her Ishwar, is going to get Shamsher as her defender.
And RK by making Madhu chant him as her sahara, he became her defender
And he personally has set himself against Balraj.  He is not seeking anyone's support.
So RK will beat Balraj at his own game.

The episode started with Padmini chanting it, then RK making Madhu chant and him  getting included in their inner circle...And in precap scene Balraj makes an entry...with that looking at the chawl gate and seeing Padmini, followed by Madhu. Structurally it was a smooth foreboding of coming events. The women are sure going to be petrified. But only they have to fight now, they will have to be joined by their men as well...because Balraj is that formidable and once again Padmini set the ball rolling with collecting supporters to her side. She will once again have Shamsher and this time her married daughter will have her husband to take care of her. The drama just became more interesting.

Though the chanting of the prayer by Madhu and RK upon RK's prodding was more in line of RK's Pain relieving Technique employed by him to boost his Biwi's morale as was felt by both him and his mother per the Reconciliation and Fixing before Leaving track. The scene ends with the couple shown as very much in love with Madhu saying "RK I love you" to which RK responds "Me Too. I Love Me" Its cute the way RK in the same moment shows of his attitude to his Biwi and also professing that he is no different from what his wife thinks.
Now few asides
Shamsher = Bhupinder Singh = Dharmender Paaji. Gosh!! Can Bhupinder reduce his Dharam paaji teepna ?

Other Reviews
By Priya over RK and Radhaji Scene
However, I liked the fact that RK has actually warmed up to Radha with no influence from Madhu. He went on to surprise Radha who called out his name and then held back thinking that he would not listen to her only to ask her what was she going to say and on top of that acknowledge her request to take care of distressed Madhu by gently nodding his head. I loved his smirk/grin that followed after Radha leaving their room, which basically meant that he knows exactly how to handle Madhu and put her at ease.

I liked the episode, in fact all the epis thi week. Smooth flow, good acting, no jarring stuff (mostly).

I like how comfortable our superstar and his biwi are - ribbing each other, occasional tiffs, but always, always there is love. This is how it should be, hai na? Whenever that separation happens its going to be terribly wrenching for us, and for them. They are so settled in their life now.

Padmini-Shamsher: grounded couple, she's taking more time than him to come around. Not surprising, mconsidering she's got an abusive marriage behind her. She's happy with the status quo. She'll come around soon enough.

The scene of the day today for me was Shamsher's love confession for Padmini. It was straightforward, no-nonsense, real- just like him.

As for Ballu's realization in the precap - bring it on!

Precap!

Sorry, but I needed to comment on this way!

By Tanu

A nice and honest episode.
The dilemma of Padmini was captured beautifully. She wished to snub the voices of her loved ones telling her that her relationship with Malik is beyond what they acknowledge… she might have succeed for a moment. What she couldn't help was the warmth that engulfed her when she allowed herself a walk down memory. The knowledge of probably sharing something so divine with Malik, a relationship that sheltered and nourished their children was enough to repulse the memory of Ballu. The sari cropped up between her memories of her happy family and she threw it as if it didn't belong with them. The way she threw the sari, a sari that symbolised her commitment to another man… you could see she was finally liberated. She continued to gaze at a piece of paper that started off the most important relationship when Malik walked in, calm and composed just the way she knew him. His silent strength has always been her greatest support system and today was going to be no different… she was about to make another important decision in her life… it was going to be Malik who made the final break through as it should have been. It had to be her love for him and no other pressure that would have made her accept Malik as a companion.
What followed was a beautiful scene… a scene which was as natural as it could get and as sincere as emotions they truly felt for eachother. Padmini got worked up the moment she saw Malik had injured himself only to restrain herself when she realised she couldn't justify her concern. Malik's confession was so wonderful… hats off to the creative who wrote the scene… to begin with it suited their age, it took into consideration their 20 years of togetherness… it was beautiful… simple, heartfelt and honest. He began by saying how he didn't bother about anything when Padmini and the kids chanced upon him and slowly became his reason to live. He was content to go with the flow… because life had never been beautiful, never was worth a thought before they came into his life. He was coaxed to think of this relationship after so many years (Thank you, RK!) and has now found an answer. I loved the way he worded his emotions 'yeh rista vishwas, samaan ka hai, aur meri taraf se pyar ka hai'. The word 'pyar' can out as an equal to words 'vishwas' and 'samaan' which they have all  along acknowledged, it came out with the same dignity the latter two deserved.  I have always loved Malik as a father, but today I love him for the person he is. From the time he has been confronted of his love for Padmini he has never denied or demeaned it… he has been exceptionally dignified. And today even as he confessed, as clear as he was about his emotions for Padmini he also made it clear that these emotions are his, only his. Not once during the confession, he asked her to reciprocate… his only agenda was to retain the honesty in their relationship, she deserved to hear the truth because it concerned her. His only wish was he didn't want to be left alone, without her, without the kids.             At the end he made sure she understood that her happiness was all that mattered to him and he will pray for that.
RK would be immensely impressed with his sasurji talking his advise seriously…I can so imagine him seeting maroing for his fave lovestory and his real life superstars.
If Malik's confession was beautiful… I have no words to describe the scene that followed. Padmini's walk to the food was her realisation, her acknowledgement of her love for Malik. The walk was marked with slight hesitancy in her steps but she was drawn towards as if it was her ultimate destination. There was so much of tenderness when she picked up the burnt, hard roti because Malik has prepared it. She took a bite and cherished it… there was a sense of urgency to take the second bite aswell.. it was almost like the 20 years gone by was too much time lost. The privacy in the moment was what enhanced the scene so much more. Padmini was given that space to enjoy the feeling of being loved as a woman.  It was a moment so rare for her… experiencing your love and the love of you man for the 1st time… there was happiness and relief that only a heart who has finally got home will feel. Again the beauty of the scene was its simplicity… it didn't have to have loud dialogues, confrontation or the camera going crazy to mark it as a momentous event… It concentrated on Padmini-Malik and their heartfelt emotions. Pallavi took the scene to a completely different level.
RK-Madhu scene was adorable. Another moment when RK scored a brownie… can Madhu please have some??? It was such a wonderful way to wake Madhu up when she is feeling down and low. He held her hand to remind her of her inner strength that helped her see his devilish avtar through. It is moments like that you realise why 'junoon' is a part of the title… He wanted to tell her he is always by her side… but he chose to reword her prayer with him being an integral part of it. Typical! A nice cosy scene… what I liked it Madhu snuggled back into the bed… she didn't get into her patnidarm duties running off to get his tea/coffee/juice! And RK finished with a flourish in reply to her 'I love you…', 'Me too…I love me'! There is never a dull moment with him around.
Padmini was back home I suppose because she walked in with empty plates… obviously she would get home and cook.  Can someone please present Malik with a cupboard… the man has been living out of a suitcase and an ancient one at that! And what on earth was that letter… after that wonderful confession… Malik chose to leave? Doesn't make sense at all.  It better be a prank by RK/Roma/Trishna… anyone, not Malik. Even if it is Malik's I think he might have written after he returned from jail for having attacked RK and Padmini was upset with him. He cant probably write that now. As expected Padmini was hysterical…. Lets see what happens trow.
Trow doesn't sound very good with Ballu getting to know about Padmini and Madhu.

By Ananya
Wow!
So, Malik heeds to his damad's advice and decides to open up his heart to Padmini. Another win for RK.Smile

I loved Maliks confession. It was really an honest and heartfelt confession. What disappointed me was his disappearance act after confessing his feelings. My thoughts might not be in agreement to most of you here. But, I have never been a supporter of this theory called-'Confess your love, run away and let the other person ponder over it'. It torments the person left behind. They are let dumbfounded as to what to do with all these emotions. It does not matter whether they reciprocate the feelings or not. But, it is unfair to vent out your emotions and do a disappearing act on your loved one.

There were discussions on yesterday's ED thread, that Malik is embarrassed of his feelings and hence might choose to leave everything behind. But he confessed his feelings with pure honesty with no trace of embarrassment. Then why disappear?
May be as the discussion progresses on this thread, I will come to terms with Maliks decision.

I loved Padmini's realization and the way she was reminiscing those 20 years, while savoring the food prepared by Malik.

RK-Madhu scene was good. So now MAA in Madhu's prayer has been replaced by RK. Interesting!! Yeh to hona hi tha. Ab to Madhu ki puri zindagi me RK hi RK hai, to ek prayer kya cheez hai!!  So its first time after the confession night that, Madhu says 'I love you RK' and RK replies with 'me too'.(I love me) I was happy(I would say more of relieved), when RK did not say 'I love you' to Madhu. It would have been very very unRKish saying 'I love you' randomly early in the morning. Good that he is still retaining his cheek.

I am not sure if any of you felt the same, but some how today in the RK-Radha scene, for the first time I felt that may be Radha genuinely cares for Madhu and hence asks RK to take of her. And, I sensed that deep down RK was immensely pleased with the concern his mother is showing for his wife.

Precap: Looks like Bittuji has also sent his brain on vacation. What provokes him to bring his psychopath business partner to the heroines home? I am sure RK will be furious if he comes to know of this. And this time looks like Ballu has spotted Padmini and Madhu, though he will not recognize the later as his daughter. So, lets gear up for the action now!!!

Sasur ne daamaad ki guzarish accept kiya and pahunche Padmini ke paas apne pyar ka izhaar lekar:)

Baap-Beti follow the same funda to confess their feelings-"Insan ke dil tak ka raasta uske pet se guzarta hai"

Malik's confession was too good. Fabulous dialogues were given to him and he delivered them with the right emotion. The emphasis on "Aap aur bache" gave the right punch and power to his confession.

Padmini was brilliant today in the first half of the episode. First, when she threw away the "red saree" in disgust when she was having heart-warming thoughts about Malik n her kids. Wasn't that the same saree she had taken it out on her KC?
Her sudden outburst of concern at seeing Malik injured and then trying to get a grip on her emotions and she turning away from him.
Lastly, when she was eating the Malik ke haath ka khana.
Today, seeing this entire scene, I just got reminded of the scene the day Madhu comes to her maayka for 2 days and she had told Madhu that "RK teri bohut parwah karta hai...Ek ladki ke liye isse badhkar aur kya chahiye hota hai ki uska pati shows concern..." Pads today would have felt the love and care by Malik not for the mother of their children but for the woman inside her ,who craves to be loved by a man.

RK-madhu scene was as usual nice and neatly done:) RK instills back the confidence in her and tells her to gear up for good times. Is this Malik absconding one of RK's idea?

Pads running around the streets of Mumbai was truly not  my taste followed by calling Madhu from the PCO.. Chalo thoda bohut they have to go the soapy way...

Precap: Ballu seeing Pads and Mads...
After seeing the precap, I again remembered RK's words to his Biwi.
RK: Biwi, ab tak jo bhi drama hua, use bhool jao---- I was like, ya biwi, aaj ek naye drama ki shuruat hone wali hai.
RK: Aaj ka din sab kuch badlega--- I was like, haan Madhu aaj se toh sab ki solidly lagne wali hai..
RK:Sab kuch achcha hoga---- Kiske liye? Kahin Ballu ke liye toh nahi..

He takes courage in his hands and talks to Padmini about his feelings, his life before and after he met her and the girls. I wish she had the courage to turn around to see the emotions on his face during his confession. Indeed he is a strong man who did not resort to any theatrics but put it very plainly to her. His dialogues were felt from the heart, not filmy at all. In his own way he told her apne dil ki baat and left it up to her to do what she thinks and feels the best. Either way he is and remains their well wisher.

Aonther cute scene between Madhu and RK -
Loved the prarthana today and change in the line where "Apni Ma ke sahare" is now replaced by "Apne RK ke sahare". Does that mean RK has now replaced that position in Madhu's life and that is what RK is trying to tell her that she can trust him completely?    A couple of times he said in between these past 2 episodes ki aaj ka din bohot acchha jayega. Lekin kis ke liye?

@bold
Me too. I too felt the same

Priya,
Loved your review...precap excluded.
And thanks for raising the point...the viewers need to be advised about the legal standpoints of Padmini's previous marriage and why it can be considered defunct now...before Balraj makes an entry to raise the question. I want the characters involved prepared in advance for their marriage with all baggages dropped and not be shown on national TV as if they were dumbos not to resolve this thing without Superstar RK's enlightenment. I don't want the Maliks and Chaudhry's to be shown as not caring to be knowing enough...

Zorica,
Your pictorial commentary over the precap... RFOL!!!

Tanu,
OMG!!! You felt the same. Agreed on everything and especially the last one. Shamsher the man who professed that love for Padmini could never be the one who bunks now. NOoo!!!

Loved your review.  We agree on the Man, the Woman and the private moments between the two...though I chose to make another moment reminisced by Padmini as the most private moment. May be I should rephrase my post, by changing private to divine moment and confess love to profess love...will do after I am done with reading all the posts.

Ananya,
You too felt the same...that Shammu darling couldn't have bunked. Chalo...then that's pure clunk from CV's. Loved your review too. Agree on everything...inclusive of Rads and Rishu darling scene.

Zoya,
Your opening statements were simply LOL!!!
Your closing statements were RFOL!!!
Beautiful.
And the body of post...I agree. Now I am quite bored to write...that I am loving everyone's posts. So we all felt the same. scratching my head here...Did Malik actually leave ? Is it a prank or Clunk ? God!!! they won't get viewer rating if they show clunk like that. Almost everyone agrees here, the man could not have left after professing his love.

Padmini Versus Radhaji - Defunct Marriage exposed and Remarriage Encouraged
Episode 160 Discussion: 3rd Jan 2013

Events of the episode
  1. Continuing efforts from Trishna and Radhaji to convince Padmini to reconsider "Punar Vivaah" with Shamsher.  From Channel perspective this becomes a Social Message as well for older woman not to think of their lives as ended with no hope.
  2. Trishna and Radha characters development...An insight into what they feel around their relationships. This would not have been possible with continued focus on Rishbala due to TRP garnering.
Note: Re VD's vacation influencing the plotlines
All reviewers here to make it more meaningful starting from today until VD's return from his vacation, please heed to this advice from your peers and keep it in mind while reviewing the episode. Else it would be plain rona-dhona in the ED thread.

By Soundarya
Bit of a filler episode today. I guess we will have to put up with these kind of episodes till the time VD is back from his wedding celebrations. And Padmini-Shamsher's marriage is the track that is going to dominate...which is just as well because there are so many people involved...biggest game changer in the scenario being Balraj, who is being fed to us in small bits. All those comments about what a boring, comic character he is etc etc will  be proven wrong once he knows the truth of his 'presumed dead' family.  Imagine the fury he will unleash, imagine the blow to his ego when he realises not only is his family alive, but his wife is on her way to marry Malik.

By SD
VD's vacation has started. And starting today, all his scenes will be filler material except for few scenes which had been planned for underlying track of "Lets leave everything behind after fixing everything". This includes that planning for new house and MU fight between MB and RK on account of Dips. So this was a ploy used to cover some of the absence during his vacation.
For ex: Today's MB's rona-dhona and him teasing her is another filler for today. We could have as well not been presented with the scene. But what will happen to Rishbala and VD bhakth. There would be "Darshan Do Ghanshyam Nath Mori Ankhiyan Pyasi Re..."

And the way MEIEJ is constructed, every character is human and grey. So there is a lot of potential for each character to be good and bad. Its very much human.

Episode Indepth review
Thanks to VD vacation, we are now getting character explorations into
  • Trishna
  • Padmini (Re her defunct marriage)
  • Radhaji
In Mid Sep we had discussed how these three women's stories needed to be developed. Those interested can read the link here
META Pyromaniac Padmini v Roaring Radha!!

Padmini
We had discussed at length why Padmini was carrying the baggage of her defunct marriage. How could she keep a vrath for a killer husband like Balraj and yet not think of what she was coming across when living with Shamsher and not doing something about it. She was coming across as a Moocher...yes moocher no less. Yes this was mainly raised by Peach, who slighty went off topic as just not to see her as a mother but her character that comes out with all the symbols she wore when literally there was no functional husband around her.

Peach, Are you happy that they are addressing this today ?

My review from today's episode

We can understand why Trishna inspite of her biting words continues to hold her place in Shamsher, Padmini and Madhu's heart, because she does have some goodness in her.

I was exchanging with Soundarya my thoughts about Trishna's yes to Balraj yesterday. Turned out right.
>>>>To me her keeping quiet now makes perfect sense. why ? No matter what Balraj should not see Padmini. Isn't it the survival reason why Shamsher staged the drama of her being killed. Else Balraj would never have stopped hunting them down. So she had split second decision to make ...by agreeing to do the cinema, she will have Balraj leave before either of them see each other. Now if there was  no Padmini-Shamsher marriage drama going on, logically she should be disclosing that Balraj is back in town. But she may again decide to let it slide as the marriage will not happen if the Balraj news is out. But yes, why No ONE is asking, how can Padmini marry a Shamsher without divorcing Balraj. Fine by law their marriage is non-functional...but how about ritualistic removal of her mangalsutra and sindhoor that Padmini is wearing in the name of Balraj. Shouldn't the woman at least look devoid with all marriage symbols from her previous marriage ? Questions galore my mind. But then I am willing to wait.

@bold
And today this was addressed by Radhaji to Padmini.

Trishna
Trishna always loved Shamsher and Padmini. Because she built relationships around them as father and mother. They are not her natural father and mother. Her biological father was a rakshas and he had her mother killed. So why would she not like if these two good people get bonded and become her parents never to part. Its very human reason and not just a plot clunk by CVs when they showed that although she disapproves and cannot stand Rishbala jodi, she still could see something good for her and her parents out of the proposal.
And the way Trishna protected her mother, by not allowing Balraj to see her was commendable. Yes, wasn't Padmini's death staged by Shamsher to divert Balraj. So she continued on with the same cover-up. Poor girl, she had to say yes to act in BSC's film for the same.

Concept of Remarriage explained (would be tauted as social message by Colors)
We can see that not all widows are fully capable of living their lives independently. They look forward to some kind of support. Most are supported by families around them, some like Radhaji chose to remarry...well she belonged to high-society, so she did not have any problem. But Padmini her background had not been an educated one. She was a poor woman from Mutihari married to Balraj to beget a male-child...another rampant social evil (gender inequality). From a male dominated society, Padmini had also cowering and binding principles that cloud her sense of independence to think of anything of herself. However, the good thing about Padmini was she chose to heed to Daiima's advice and run away from Balraj's feudal control along with her step daughter, while Madhu was still in her womb. She reached Mumbai and since then dedicated her life to raising her daughters with the help of her friend Roma and her brother Shamsher Malik.

So they made Radhaji as the spokeswoman to explain the same to Padmini, how she has the right to think about herself and her marital happiness. They made Radhaji to advise Padmini that she need not carry the baggage of her previous marriage and make a new beginning when it holds so much promise.

An aside on Roma
Roma was shown as an alcoholic junior artist. She kept all her dreams alive through Trishna and called her a Heroine. Then her story and her was pretty much dumped. We see her being revived in the Sangeet ceremony as per today's SBS /E24 clips.

SD, I hope the CVs would show why Pads have been wearing the mangalsutra and sindoor all these years for Ballu. Was it bcos of society or bcos of her personal beliefs? For a sensible woman she has been inflicting misery on herself all these years wearing them? Why? Perhaps we would get the answers to these questions in the coming episodes (if they arent already answered in today's).
A question to all: Does Radha think that RK has accepted Radha-Kukku remarriage? RK initiating Pads-Malik remarriage should have suggested to Radha that her son's non-acceptance of his mother's marriage is bcos of Kukku Bhatia. RK would have accepted his mother's remarriage had it been to someone other that Kuku Bhatia.
Pads ran away from Ballu bcos of Madhu. RK and Ballu met bcos of Madhu. Soon things will come a full circle with Pads-Ballu meeting. It would be interesting to see how the story goes from there. Will RK have the much desired union with Madhu? Is his longing for the 7-phere marriage and yearning for complete possession of Madhu, the hurdles, the frustrations, the pain, the dissatisfaction, what is depicted in his Hum Hai Deewane song?
Peach,
1) Padmini and her defunct marriage
I answered all those questions for you in the META thread when we met. LOL You wan't me to answer again. No way !!! Go back to read.
And actually, I did answer this in my episode take today.
You should have seen Balika Vadhu. Anandi inspite of being educated, how she was unwilling to remove all the symbols of her marriage to Jagya and get divorce and get remarried. She was forced to let go of all these things by her Daadimaa (Granny) to beat the sense into her...making the show a lesson to society...how the old woman is advising the younger woman to stop wallowing in pain and just embrace new life. That got Colors HIGH TRPs. So part of Padmini's story gets cue from there and part from the fact that her story was kept low so that later it is addressed again in this manner.
The end result is that the channel in the name of Fiction programming is catering to masses what they want to see. And Peach, trust me...the Northern India is far more discriminated than women in down south. A North Indian woman and a South Indian woman does not think alike. I have seen this first rate with my friends and both my friends (one Punjabi and other a Pahari from Uttaranchal) are survivors and fighters. I saw them put up fight with including their mothers to question every convention and yet reserving the emotional bonds of every relation. But deep down it is their blood..the reticence of centuries...so they look subdued, or look cynical or act feminists in total rebellion and then most times are realists and act practically. I see them as stronger than me, much more resilient.
So slow teaching works when catering to masses. You cannot show the TV show as if catering to University students. Even if women like watching progressive woman shows, do you think they will not fear what her husband will think of her when she is watching that show or her saas thinks of when she enjoys progressive woman shows. Sometimes pretence is also escape for them.

2) RK-Radha over Radha remarriage...so far the mother and son have not talked. We are only hearing what mother has to say when she spoke to Madhu. And likewise what RK said to Madhu (without giving her any chance to ask back). So we the viewers really do not know WHAT WENT WRONG THERE ? Its only hear-say. We can expect full revelation some day when CVs choose to play that track.
3) yes, 7 phera marriage is the answer to Rishabh's own mock-marriage act and all his yearning depicted in Hum Deewane Song. With 4 phera marriage he got the rights to be Madhu's husband as wife in legal sense...yeah..the Hindu act will not question whether it was 4 phera or 7 phera. She is his wife because he married her in front people. That's valid enough. With a 7 phera marriage, RK wants to be blessed by Gods in beating the UNLUCKY thing tagged by himself and The Curse added by Trishna.

Hmmm. Every one seems to agree that yesterday Madhu-Radha scene was precursor for today's Radha-Padmini scene

But do you know what I think, who would have been the right person for Padmini to have this conversation?

Not Radha but Roma. What better way to have Roma re-enter this serial. Who better to understand Padmini (apart from Malik i.e.) than Roma. It is Roma who has been witness for all these 20 years, who has seen Padmini-Malik interactions, who could better feel and understand the nuances of their relationship, who might have on some level always nurtured a wish for Padmini as her bhabhi.

Granted she is never married but how does that matter?

CV should have handled this in a completely different way when everyone was expecting Radha to be the ideal choice for this. That would have made it special.
Keeping it unexpected and unconventional need not happen only for RK and Madhu in this serial.!!!

Don't ya think?

MM,
I like that they brought Radha to talk about this. Because it adds strength from societal sanction that it is OKAY to get remarried. Padmini is all TRADITIONAL coming from rural backdrop. She does not have the sophisticated mind to leave traditiions if not prodded by OVERRIDING Emotions.

So Radha is that rationale.

And Roma is a bad example from the point of view of social sanction. She is unmarried and will not know what it means to do away with old marriage and accept a second man as her partner.

But yes, Roma would have been excellent as a Padmini's FRIEND to share and advise her something on emotional level. And she would have been such a bridge between her brother and Padmini. But then again question would arise, why for so many years the FRIEND in Roma never saw that her brother and Padmini love each other.  Sometimes near ones take everything for granted. It takes an OUTSIDER to PUT everything in perspective.

Now when Shamsher leaves everything, Padmini will have her emotions taking control of her. Because Padmini respects traditions, but she is also an emotional person. That may make her set aside everything rationally and just listen to her heart.

Here's what I saw:
Trishna-Padmini: Finally we see Trishna know to think maturely.
Radha-Padmini: Excellent dialogue and excellent acting. Finally Radha did something selfless (in fact, it is not totally selfless - it is for her son).
(digression: It seems to me that Radha has no good opinion of herself as a person. Probably because he failed as a mother.)
Trishna-Ballu: When she released paralyzing fear, Trishna will return to his father what he did to her, I hope. She is now in a position to collect him everything!
Radha-Madhu: mother advised her daughter.
Madhu-RK: RK in his style, teasing Madhu.
Malik: Expected
@Shri, the prediction came true!

By Soundarya over TRISHNA
Trishna's character is slowly getting her balance.  Which is what I like about this serial...no character except Dipali, is completely black or white. Each character has their compulsions and therefore resultant reactions. SO Trishna is able to think through the evening and reach a sensible conclusion, based on what she thinks is the best for her family.  While she hates RK, she also concedes that what he said about her parents relationship made sense. Plus, her instinct to protect her family  overrides everything else, even her own fears about her father Balraj. She is terrified of him but is willing to face him alone rather than have him face her family. Padmini's upbringing after all.

By Zoya - Trishna and Radha as the Spokeswoman
I am happy with the way Trishna's character is being developed.
I was actually wondering 2 or 3 days back if we will get to see that Trishna genuinely feels Malik-Pads union as necessary an voice it out or she would just go with the flow and be happy if her parents are happy. And today I got my answer.
The moment she encounters Balraj, the first thing that came to her mind was Maa and how she needs to immediately ward off Ballu before he sees Padmini. As Shri, said in her post 2 days back, Trishna values the r'ships that she forged to create a family and sometime back, that family was cracking and breaking and blamed RK and Madhu for that. But now, all of them are trying to gather themselves together and she sees hope of that happy family again. And when all this is happening, she comes face-to face with Ballu , who could potentially erase that family for good. Her first instinct is to keep everyone away from Ballu.

Pads-Trish and Madhu, all of them are strong women, fighters and survivors. Am hoping, these three would join forces, flanked by Malik and RK and become a formidable team to topple Ballu..   Anyways let's see how Trish's character progresses.

Radha-Padmini: Seems like Radha knows the entire Malik's and Chaudhary's dastaan... Radha sensibly and factually tried to tell Padmini to let go of her previous marriage and embrace Malik.

I can't exactly exactly point out Radha's opinion on what RK thinks of remarriage- whether it's the remarriage funda itself or the person she remarried. But if it is the former, then she is actually glad that RK is crusading Pads-Malik union and she is contributing to make their effort fruitful. It can also be that the writers are just making Radha the voice of the society apart from the fact that she is of the same gen as Pads and experienced on this front too. RK-Madhu, Trish are all Pads children, so Radha is just being the outsider and rep the society.

Uff Madhu, what's with tears?. Am getting bored of RK trying to tease you for the same thing.. How many times,  can he come up with  different ways to tell the same thing. Hope kal khushi ke ansoo na bahao tum...

Precap: Are we gearing up for a filmy Pads-Malik reunion?

@Ananya: Even I am excited as to how Trishna's character is going to pan out and her r'ship with RK will bring about an interesting dimension to her character.

@RK coming out in the open re. Trish career: There are lot of factors involved. Trish might happily accept the move but will Madhu like it? When RK decided to push Trish career forward, he had told Bittuji to keep it confidential and not blurt it out to Madhu as she might take it as an ehsaan...

@Trish: Again she is a very layered character and we cannot tell that she would act only in a specific way. She is till now angry with madhu(will patch up in the coming epis) and jealous of madhu, but the moment Ballu came into the pic, she forgot all her probs with Madhu and was thinking about her welfare too. She behaved very sensibly during the Malik-Pads separation too. And she is still ambitious and loves her dreams too..Different situations and circumstances bring out different facets of her character. There is a lot to explore with her character too.

By Hima -  Padmini- Mallik's marriage track and Padmini's Remarriage being addressed.
My thoughts not exactly on the episode but, overall on the present tracks...

Loving Padmini- Mallik's marriage track...it was long awaited and much needed...initiated by who...their daamad, the very man who once tainted it-super star RK...nice closure there by cv's...Trishna and ballu's re-entry track is going great too..I am happy that we are getting to see different facets of Trishna...I remember as a child, she was shown as a dutiful daughter
and loving big sister...In one of the earlier episodes when Pads returns to the chawl after madhu's birth, the chawl ladies offer to show Trishna something they brought for her but,she innocently refuses to go see it saying she is busy as she got a sister now and needs to take care of her...seems as she grew older her dreams and ambitions which inadvertently got shattered by madhu took precedence over her love for that little sis...With ballu's entry, the traumatic memories etched in the young mind evoked that fear again...the fear that bonded her with padmini...the fear which gave her the strength to trust and run away with her...I am excited to see what all Trishna would do to keep ballu away from her mother...the woman who gave her a new life and whom she took for granted and hurt repeatedly saying she prefers Madhu over her as she is her sautela...life is coming a full circle for them...Though Ballu is mainly after Madhu...Trishna is the one who suffered a lot and a witness to his barbaric acts...so,I wish a full on Ballu-Trishna track where she would to some extent, avenge her and her mothers suffering or would it be the other way with Trishna falling prey to ballu's manipulations and causing more troubles to Mallik's and Madhu ...I am guessing when it comes to protecting the sisters from ballu, shamsher saving Trishna and RK saving madhu would be good...

In todays episode,it was good to see Radhaji talk to Padmini about remarriage and leaving past baggage...cv's are mixing RK's reconciliation to his mom's remarriage with pad's remarriage track...I guess though RK wouldn't consider the Bhatia's any worth,he would come to terms with his mom's remarriage by the end of this track (his sasuma's remarriage) thus mending his own relation and leaving past baggage too...I wouldn't say he would become lovey-dovey with his mom but, could just forgive her and let it go which would give him peace of mind...

By Gurtiluv over Radhaji's Remarriage
About Radha's remarriage

Sry guys now im going to compare this to another show these thoughts have crossed my mind many times. In Punar Vivah Aarti was shown to get married only with the urge of her son. As much as Aarti wanted to she couldn't fulfill all the duties of a father like sports and winning races and such. But there the character Ansh (Aarti's son) had never met his father. Yash was the only father he would ever know. Rishab on the other hand was attached to his old father so much that he couldnt imagine another man ever fulfilling that role. So its an issue of not just why shouldnt second marriages for women be accepted by society when men's are. Since Padmini herself was Balraj's second wife but it is an issue of taking a young child's emotions and development into consideration for what is best for them. Radhaji unlike Aarti never tried to fulfill the role of a father what was Rishab was looking for (as he told Madhu). She never bothered to ask Rishab what he wanted. She never got Rishab's approval for Kukku Bhatia. She only got remarried as she herself admitted today that she was insecure of not being able to fulfill the role of a father to Rishab. It was pure insecurity. Padmini was always strong willed having the guts to runaway from a monstor like Balraj. and she was willing to raise two daughters on her own it was just good fortune that they got one in the form of  Shamsher. She still wants to live only for her daughters even if they might not be there for her any more after some time. There is no sense of insecurity for her kids but a sense insecurity for living for herself and her happiness.

Zoya,
Padmini wants to marry Malik, but he must first offer her marriageEmbarrassed

Zorica,

you know ...that is such an INDEPENDENT mind thinking that way. I know how deep is that. Now everyone is pressurizing Padmini to reconsider marriage with Shamsher. And yes, we know Shamsher is not proposing to Padmini because he thinks she will not like it. But then Padmini, might be just waiting for the man to ask her. How would she say a YES when the man has not even proposed to her ? What would her SELF-ESTEEM say ?  And Rishabh Kundra had already advised Shamsher NOT to LEAVE the opportunity.

Sigh the complexities of principles, emotions and ruling conventions. It is matter of principle that the man proposes to the woman which may challenge the ruling convention for the woman. Nevertheless it is the most honorable thing that a man could do for a woman whom he loves and what that woman would find respectable enough to accept.

I have seen...I mean I am pretty sharp and unconventional, but often times I go with the flow of the general mood of the group, the power and rationale driving it and not making much of ado when someone fails on principle...but such articulation of the matter in principle in an emotional manner, in my life I have seen only in my mother. For an uneducated (not illiterate) person, she is so LUCID in principles and that too at EMOTIONAL level. She can shut down a crowd of patronising figures with her questions such as the one you posed. You know what, her sun sign is SAGITARIUS. LOL

Episode 159 Discussion: 2nd Jan 2013

When Slap grows heavier than the Prank.
Daamad ne Saasuma se mazaak kiya to Saasuma ne Daamaad ko thappad mara!

Episode 159 Discussion: 2nd Jan 2013

Events of the Episode
  1. Padmini and Shamsher's love for each other comes out in the open as each of them reveal their true states of overwhelming emotion felt for each other when they hear that the other is extremely hurt.
  2. The prank had been played by RK on Padmini and Shamsher as a hoax accident call placed to either. Both the daughters are witness to this drama. Padmini slaps RK at the prank played on them.
  3. RK does not mind it, apologizes to the entire family for the prank played by him, and especially to Padmini. Then he goes on to explain that it was necessary for him to play it otherwise, his sasurjee and saasuma would never have accepted their feelings and regard for each other. He asks them to think over it and give a meaning to their relationship.
  4. Trishna is upset that her her mother has been distressed. She asks RK to stop interfering in her parents lives. RK asks her to keep herself away as well as she need not interfere or influence her parents lives and it is their decision to marry or not.
  5. Padmini and Shamsher do a lot of soul searching in the night as they think over the incident and how it brought forth all their hidden emotions for each other.
  6. At night Madhu and RK, equally disturbed and happy at days events, agree that they caused distress to Madhu's parents, but also see the hope that they will come around in due time. They seek solace in each other's company to get the draught of happiness being supportive to each other. In the process RK takes down two of the pillows from their Deewar.
Episode Review
Wow ! I had a hearty laughter at the drama today. I know @real; other viewers sitting with me would have been irritated at my laughing at the Malik ... Padmini ...Malik ...Padmini yells...the closeness and then the thappad...It was supposed to be a serious drama and I was laughing.

Anyways, they tried to make the episode a masaaledaar one. And the dramatics used that entertained me were:
  1. the dead cat aka the scarf around the neck is back. Costume changes.
  2. Trishna got spat at. Forgive my language! but ek bigda hua doosri bigdi hui ki acchi class le li. Didn't you all enjoy ?
  3. They gave a Rishbala hug for viewers...I did not care much for this one
  4. Radha the Gate-keeper  :) She was doing her honest duty there. Feeling sleepy and yet keeping her watch.
  5. the two dogs being sent to the kennel.
Will give a B+

Now serious analysis
The Prank played by Rishabh Kundra - The planner and Executor for his Sasurjee-Saasuma Love Realization
Loved the drama. Needed drama. The whole family got played upon by RK. Each of the two daughters accompanying the parent to witness the drama of love coming out in the open. RK was lucky to have Trishna sitting at home when he played the prank. The prank was answered by a slap by Padmini. Very normal reaction there. And RK apologizes profusely to Padmini for his prank. What was more interesting is RK then finishing his part of the drama to make his saasuma and sasurjee realize that he did what they should have done long time back. He unabashedly tells them that "had not I played the prank you would never have told each other what conspired today, what we spoke to you about today."  He makes Shamsher answer his close looped questions which is pretty much like...oh! so why do you then crucify me for speaking out the truth. Both Padmini and Shamsher could not say anything.

The other dramas interesting to watch around the scene were
  • how both the daughters were surprised to see so much of overwhelming concern and love between their mother and father. They were taken aback at Padmini holding Shamsher quite closely and saying...I would have died had something happened to you...haha!!! the girls were like two kids...where did it come from ?
  • How RK was being pleaded by his Biwi and Sasurjee to keep quiet and he vehemently saying no...that today, the moment is not to stop it. All ganged up there. Loved it.
  • And how Trishna got verbal slap from RK. Oh! I loved it for the fact that ek bigda hua doosri bigdi hui ki acchi class le li. Didn't you all enjoy ? Loha hi loha ko kaata hai types. Do badtameez asking each other to stay away  from their parents.
"Dil todna aur dil dukhane ki baaten tumhaare moonh se acchi nahin lagti. Tum in sab cheezon se doo raho to hi accha hai"

If this is going to be the jeeja-saali relationship between RK and Trishna, I am gonna enjoy it.  LOL!!

Roma's apt and interiors and the scenes
And finally they showed us how Roma's apt looks like. We got to see the interiors. Not bad!! Right ?? Nowadays the clunk from CVs is paying up...Used the flat to have Shamsher sit there  on the chabootra (I could not see of which tree it was) right in front of Roma's chawl apt. So that a little more of Padmini and Shamsher is seen by us.

I won't blame Trishna's behaviour back in chawl. She is just being a possessive child, who doesn't want anything to happen to her mother, as she cannot lose her. So anything that makes her happy is fine by her, if that means bad mouthing her prank playing daamad or her muted second daughter. Whatever I am enjoying Trishna and her tantrums against RK and Madhu.
CVs please show some entertaining drama between Trishna and RK in the upcoming marriage ceremony sequences. If the two bigde hue take each other's class, it would look to me as at least some barriers being closed between the two and she too becomes part of RK's family. Trishna is being unnecessarily kept away from the family drama.

Faisle ki ghadi aa gayi (The moment has come to decide)
Padmini and Shamsher now neither seem to be embarrassed nor hesitant. They know. But for both of them its the time...the time is pressing upon them to decide. And more so on Padmini as Shamsher is going to be with her no matter what she decides. This was the Aww moment for me when it suddenly dawns on Padmini looking at Shamsher outside the window, him getting upto to come after her when the window pane hits her and how he stops himself.

The precap scene
Radha the Gate-keeper  :) She was doing her honest duty there. Feeling sleepy and yet keeping her watch. Madhu blurted out that RK got slapped. From the precap scene, I could see that Padmini and Radhaji both were coming out of the temple together. So this means...Radhaji has a part to play in convincing Padmini... have to wait and watch.

And finally the couple in Love
This was not at all forced to me. Each of them were seriously thinking of the day's events. And RK wanted to share his feelings with his wife.  Starts chatting and she too responds. He is happy for the efforts made and believes that they will have success. And the talk just leads them on to empathize again about their relationship. The way they forget the rest of the drama and are again lost in each other, is what made it special for me...its like the goner moment.  Its like now you cannot stop the two love birds. And gone are two dogs in between the two. The dogs might be wailing aloud!!!

The legal implications need to be clarified

Now I have the LOGICAL QUESTION that CVs have not taken pains to show it to me that their ORCHESTRATOR (RK) has thought about seeking legal clarities on Padmini's old marriage dissolution.
Its fine that Shridevi knows about it...but what about rest of Indian junta ?
They might all be thinking how can Padmini marry Shamsher by remaining married to Balraj ? So who will BELL THE CAT now ? Someone needs to ASK this question ALOUD and all the viewers need to be answered .

RK marked the beginning of episode: shock therapy!
Good acting RK, Padmini, Malik, but the scenography is more like a theater. I know it's RK idea to control the conditions in which the unfolding drama, but it bothered me. He did not want to be in a public place - I think that because of slap was expecting. LOL!
RK marked the end of the episode: gentle therapy!
Gentle and caring, as only he knows how to be!

By Ananya

Brilliant is the word.
I am enjoying this 'Padmini-Ek Ishq Ek Junoon'  from the past few episodes. At least, Padmini's character seems to make lot more sense to me than Madhu's.

It was heart touching to see the two souls who had suppressed their feelings for each other for the past 20 years, reach out to each other with volcano of emotions erupting in each at the thought of other being in peril. What tugged at my heart was the fact that, the two were completely lost in each other. In that moment, nothing else mattered to them. It didn't matter that their daughters were around witnessing them. All they cared about was that the other was safe. The terror in their eyes, for the other being in mortal peril, the sense of relief to see each other unharmed, and once that appeased a sudden realization, that in that one moment their nameless relationship might have reached a stage from where there is no looking back. All the plethora of emotions was very very well done. Kuods to the actors here.
I dont ever remember any  CVs portraying the love story of supporting characters so beautifully.

Trishna's reaction was what I expected. If Madhu was not ready to accept this thought immediately, it would be unfair of us viewers to demand that Trishna should have reacted differently and supported the marriage. At that particualar instant, all she could see was this plan of RK's has caused a lot of distress to her parents. It is understandable.

Now the much hyped slap, I am simply amazed by RK. It just shows the lengths he could go for the sake of his loved ones. He truly sees a mother in Padmini and hence had no qualms in getting slapped by her. Same goes with Padmini. She is not a person who would go around slapping people unless she exerts rights on them.(Quite unlike madhu, who did not hesitate in slapping RK in front of his whole crew)

The best scene has to be the chawl scene, where Padmini asks to be left alone. Through her eyes, she pleads Malik to understand and he does. What more understanding can we demand from two people in love? And then again, when they look at each other through the window, padmini hurts and in an instant Maliks wants to run to her, but still gathers the courage to hold himself.

Day DreamingI loved how RK said that he understands the importance of a husband-wife relationship, and hence wants them to get married. Loved how he silenced Trishna, asked her to keep quiet when it comes to matters of heart. It was very wise of him to put those two questions in front of mailk-padmini, answers to which he already knew. All he wanted was padmini to listen to those answers from malik. (RK will always come up with new ways to make me fall more for him..)

Now coming to madhu, she disappointed me today. Both in studio scene and with Radha scene. I expected her to support her husband, not with his plan, but with his intention behind it. How can she manage to be quiet throughout the entire scene is beyond me, especially when Trishna accuses RK of interfering in her parents' personal matter. She should have defended her husband there. Instead, what she does, goes home and cries on Radha's shoulder that her mom slapped her husband. Why? What purpose does that serve? We were not even shown properly how Radha reacts to it, and to be frank I dont care. But madhu has to learn to keep the matters between her and RK to herself, especially matters as sensitive as this.

I would like to end this very long post on the happy thoughts of the romantic elements in today's episode. Loved how RK hugged her in the studio. Finally he rested his head on hers during a hug. Loved how  RK said, 'galti karne ki mafi hoti hai, par koshish na karne ki mafi nai hoti'. Very true, and applicable to all aspects of one's life..
Pillows going down, him asking her to rest her head on his hand, all of it was beyond cute.

By Myself - Why the need for Madhu to inform Radhaji that Padmini slapped RK

@Ananya, Liked your post. Every word of it.
That does not mean that I did not like all the other reviews. I did. Its just that Ananya's narrative was flowing with her emotion of elation.
Zoya,
You have been upset with Madhu for being indiscrete and telling Rads that Padmini slapped RK. Thing is...Its not character Madhu's fault.
If you remember, Madhu is discrete when she wants to. She chooses to tell what she wants to Rads. She doesn't tell everything. Its like ...Madhu shows the facts of the matter as a painting and presents it to Radha. She did not tell what was the fight about when Rads saw RK angry with Madhu at the dining table. She told all was well between her and RK upon returning from the farmhouse.

So its not just Madhu who uses discretion of informing per her mind. It is CVs through her. Remember this is Madhubala: Ek Ishq Ek Junoon. Its Madhu who has to drive the story. So she acts with CVs mind. All the other characters become catalysts to her created drama with her main antagonist being Rishabh Kundra. This is needed to always keep the tension between Mads and RK, otherwise the Ishq and Junoon will not come. For the junoon to show up, the conflict through Madhu at times and through RK at other times has to be there.

Anyways cutting short my ramble...what I am saying is that
today MAdhu informed Rads that Padmini slapped RK. It means that there is a purpose behind it. The CVs have planned something. Going my Madhu's character, she is being truthful to her saasuma. Because Padmini should not have slapped her Damaad. Now the viewers, RK, Padmini and Mads understand it...but the voice of tradition also need to be pacified. Right ? So CVs are making it look moralizing and sanctioning through Madhu that yes, the storytellers know that Padmini committed an offence and hence the panic stricken face from Shamsher, Trishna and Madhu. But who cares in reality. :)) As long as RK the hero is happy with the result, no one needs to bother what Mads or Rads thinks. We know the drama is going to be resolved tomorrow, hopefully with Rads as the older woman explaining Padmini that its okay to remarry ..as she too had remarried.

Now coming to Why they showed RK going all cold in his first response to Padmini's slap. That again is UN RKish. We just have to ignore that because CVs were trying to raise the emotional quotient of the scene by making us believe ...OHH!!!!!!!!! RK Pit gaya...AB use Gussa Aayega ...types.

Because of these impoverished clunks today to create drama, I wanted to give a B rating, but then gave it B+ because I didn't want to make it bad for the beautiful other moments of today's episode.

trishna is spolied brat but she is always treated like stranger to family, not included in family drama/decisions. pads-shammu n madhu seems more like family n trishna an outsider. seems she became like tat becos of neglected. she lost her own mother. her biological father is not nice to her. she didn't get mom-dad love frm pads-shammu so seems more taken care by roma, so she always feels tat she didn't get any love same like rk. rk n trishna in same boat. rk got madhu n trishna still not lucky. they can show nice story of trishna if cvs plans it, but trishna n ballu meeting many times,is it hinting any track btwn them. lets see .

A few points that struck me, they could be repetitive so pls bear with me:

  • When RK and Madhu walk into their house, and they see Radhaji..RK tells her he's going upstairs. His face is not at all annoyed on seeing Radhaji, in fact, I thought he sort of indicated to Madhu to tell her what had happened..[SD] Agree. I felt the same. It was like he indicated to Madhu that you tell her why we are so late.
  • Trishna's reaction was expected...it was the same first reaction that all of them had on hearing the proposal. Of course, her blaming madhu blindly  was unwarranted. She may come around given that there's been news about them dancing at the mehndi.
  • Will Trishna accept the offer just to get rid of Balraj? It is uncharacteristic of her, just when she should be telling people about his presence, she keeps quiet. Esp when this whole marriage thing coming up, how can paddy marry when she hasn't divorced Balraj, and he is back in the same city!! But this is the typical soap silent chaos  created just so that there can be a dramatic revelation two weeks later.[SD]: To me her keeping quiet now makes perfect sense.
  • The pillow removal scene was 3 seconds more than what they showed in the pre-cap!!! But then, I guess it was needed to show their increasing comfort with each other. If madhu was upset with the prank RK pulled, he wanted to show her he meant it in good faith, didn't mean to hurt anybody with it. And he wanted her to believe him, that's why he reached out and she understood. It was lovely...the silent understanding they have, the communication they have portrayed so beautifully.[SD]: Agree. Also did you notice the editing bloopers. MB's hand was already spread out for the entire length post pillow removal. And yet the last scene is shown as of she is giving out her hand now...
On an aside...I have already started writing to Colors to get them married quickly, how long will they love like this? It's terrifying to see the number of pillows remaining
[SD]: Good. Thumbs Up
