Madhu Marriage per My rules, But this is about My Love for you RK
Episode 140 Discussion: 6th Dec 2012
Episode Events
RK identifies that Kimam was used to adulterate Madhu's Sargi and that's how she had food poisoning. He has his doubts on Dipali, however as he doesn't have proof, doesn't pursue the matter in a direct manner, instead asks Bittuji to cancel all his appointments for the day and just keep one interview. RK hires surveillance service. Three men are employed to keep a watch on Kuku, Sikky and Dipali Bhatia.
Dips still tries to poison Rads ears, but Rads asks to stop as she is upset with Dips sweet lies and throwing away of the sargi. The security men, start noting Kuku and Sikky activities through out the day, which is just booze and sleep.
Madhu streams of consciousness start and she imagines herself chatting with RK and starts to write down her feelings on a paper...a love letter. Before that she already has changed into a saree. Now through her musings and writing the letter while seeming to follow imagined RK besides her, she steps into the kitchen. And there very dreamily forgetting everything about her ill health starts cooking for her husband. She finishes cooking, writing the letter, keeps the letter in the food tray and goes to give it to RK.
RK is maddened to see Madhu working instead of resting. He gives her a reality check on her Karva Chauth ka Vrat drama, her being food poisoned, her being weak and yet her working like there's no tomorrow. He throws away the food. In his anger, he also tells that if the vrat really increased the husband's life then his father would not have died early, advises Madhu to get wiser and leaves the roof in a huff.
Episode review
Now those who were upset with my B+ for yesterday's episode...LOL!!! Sweet and temporary RK is gone! and Real RK is back ! I totally agree with his anger. But at the same time I forgive Madhu's forgetfulness about her health condition and in her semi conscious state of mind, she garners all the energy to dress up for him and cook for him and pour her feelings for her husband over a piece of paper. She was being truthful to herself and him, like RK was being truthful to himself and her. Uff!!! This difference of timing over their mental planes...Tauba jaan le legi ek doosre ki !!!!
There was total Shringar rasa from both ends...Madhu's was the sweet sight, RK's was all about care and responsibilty for his wife that none of it repeats again. They are now both like the two pole stars... quite opposite, although each is burning himself for the other, the other is unable to see the shine. This sort of love is called mismatched love...not compatible kind, but called destined love...blessed in the universe, though not much of fruitful for human conditions...unless the partners go through a lot of mutual adjustments for the benefit of partnership.
Now this episode is A. Beautiful rendition of foreground (Rishbala) and background (Bhatias + Bittuji). I am just amazed at what they wove. The design is just beautiful.
The resolute RK by the end of his investigation is all steeled and hardened once again. Gone is the sweet RK in his Biwi's company in the room. Gosh! Bittuji was asking, why Chief, you don't let happiness come near you ? And we get the answer here. Why he has to shun...because the moment he closes his eyes and thinks everything is fine, mayhem is not far behind. He needed to concentrate and work on new POA (Plan of action) and cancels all appointments. Ridiculous it looks, but he employed security gaurds to monitor the "three Chindi Chor".
Madhu, is the self-declared Deewani now. She is goner, we know and she knows. She was fed with more of ambrosia by RK himself in the morning when he took care of her, pushing the girl into an abyss. Well ! this is abyss...she will soon climb out of the abyss...by and by. The abyss that I am talking is about her taking trips into her mental labyrinth and imagining walks and chats with RK. At least she has resolved to tell him that she loves him. With such a great effort she wrote the letter. And he made nothing of it, with reality check. Madhu did not deserve it. And yet she deserved it when she used the customary practices to please him. Like ...dil ka rasta pet se hoke jaata hai.
RK yet again reminded her that this is RK, who is unconventional, because he has waded through the burning fire of all the conventions and had got burned. And if Madhu wants to reach him, she better merit it and not just ask for it. I know Madhu doesn't deserve any of that lecture...but she needs to heed to him. The man, her husband did not for no reason marry her and then decided not to come to Karva Chauth ka vrat. He is self-declared dissenter against established religion promoted bigotry. She saw his attitude in Ganesh Festival, knew he made up with his Ganesha through asking of punishment for him equal to death, then how could she have not deeply thought of his hate for sham around KC festival. God! The man exactly worded the same thoughts around sham the way I feel about that festival...materialistic and commercialized festival, fast one day and prune hubby's purse for a necklace, a saree etc. This is what majority of the population does. No doubt about that. Madhu is all upset. She understands him rationally, but that is not her image for whose kind RK is puking out his venom. He leaves her heart-broken.
I know I was so UP with Madhu that if she goes for KC, then she is pretty much telling RK that she wants her wifey rights. And yes, like I thought and as Madhu thought, he did honour her wish by coming. However this seriousness about "Izzat maangi nahin jaati, kamaaii jaati hai" is all about his condition clearly stated to her now. If you want rights from me, you better merit them from me. He has made it clear to her, yet again; with proper explanation, that these are ground rules and choice is hers to follow. He is all about marriage and She is all about her love for him. How much disparate thinking !!! Until these two bridge the gap in their understanding, they would have some unpleasant undercurrents again...unless they put aside their thoughts and are not back to sleeping on the same bed.
Sorry, the videos I watched are now showing up...so I could not note some very meaningful lines for today's review. Today's episode is very Complex in Structure. I hope folks could understand it in its depth. I just have to say, against this new juxtaposition they have, it would be a new game for us to watch them where they go from here. It would be like this I feel...Madhu Marriage mere rules par, you will have to merit me, you need to take care of yourself, I cannot stand it when you look pale like this, Stop the nonsense about serving husband, what if I don't live upto your expectations, what if God has planned something else ? Why can't you just be normal and not showy ? But this is all about my Love for you RK. I want to do things for you. I am prepared to fight with God for you. I don't care what happens to me, but you will see that I deserve you. Yeh meraa waada hai tumse. LOL!!!
Asides:
The Bhatia clan and Bittuji-bodygaurds scenes were good. Entertaining.

RK's reaction was totally unexpected...It stemmed from his concern for her well being and anger at
her foolishness in following all those rituals by pushing her health too far...the extent to which she went to get sargi there by falling sick must have fueled his anger too...I have a feeling that RK might chance up on that letter...until now he only knows that Madhu took him as her husband and hence wanted to fulfill KC but, when he gets to know that she also loves him and how deeply she feels for him he is sure going to be affected and that could be why he tries to make it up for Madhu by decorating the set...
Madhu's imaginations of RK while writing the letter were cute...even in those imaginations she was seeking help and guidance from RK...shows how much she values and admires his thinking...also shows how much she craves for his approval...he indeed is khazi and maula for her...
madhu's answering back Deepali was good... surveillance on the threesome...does it yield anything..?or is it just for comic relief..??
Hima,
You echo my thoughts. Same here. I second it, because although base was the same for my review, I took into slightly thinking plane for all. Let me know if you agree.

And today RK demonstrates why his and Madhu's love story is indeed a unique one. He hurts her, on purpose, not because he hates her (which is the standard response when a husband does something like this in other seriels), but because he hates that fact that she places rituals above her own wellbeing. More importantly, in his eyes, she places these rituals above him. To RK, he told Madhu that the KC vrat was nothing she should do because it was not something he believed in. She did it anyway. He does not know, like we do, that she was willing to forgo the fast if he had asked her to stay that morning. So for him, the whole fasting tradition was something Madhu placed above her husband's wishes. His care for her was such that he came for her anyway, overcoming his ego. And yet, when she persists in what he sees as foolishness, his anger, which has his roots in his concern, comes roaring out.
That concern, which is tinged with fear (he keeps reiterating the fact that she was sick, that she still looks unhealty, that she had food poisoning etc), is what made him so harsh today. And unknowingly, the hurt he inflicted was far worse that anything she had endured up till that point. The emotional pain he left Madhu in far eclipsed the pain that came from the food poisoning, because this pain will linger.
On the other hand, Madhu needed this check. Her husband is not like others. I don't blame the poor girl- she's in love for the first time, and the love of her life is a box full of crazy. How do you handle someone like that when you're so infatuated with them? I have full confidence that she'll learn quickly, but better she knows that its a path full of thorns from the beginning, rather than in the middle. I also liked that he was so sarcastic in her imagination- she has his core personality down, she just needs to fully open her eyes to how he is all the time. Just because he's softer towards her, does not mean that he is soft, and he can revert to his self-defense mechanisms at the touch of a button. Luckily, when it comes to him, she has the patience of a saint, and a fairly large masochistic steak. So she'll stick around, and it'll be a long, hard, bumpy ride.
I loved that she talked back to Diputz without sinking to her level- the smirk on her face the entire time- she was a class above Diputz. And yes! No going back to Bhabhi. Huzzah!
Also, last note in this mess of rambling: She threating her imagination with a poisoned apple if it insults RK? How very Chaudrahin of you Madhu. I'm sure somewhere Biodad is feeling proud.
Beautiful AA !
>>>>I also liked that he was so sarcastic in her imagination- she has his core personality down, she just needs to fully open her eyes to how he is all the time.
Poor girl! She gets his exterior. But not his Mind until he explains. Thankfully, at each of his opening, she never ignored the information and assimilated it. When he told her in a calmer and angrier manner that he doesn't believe in KC, she just thought of him as UNBELIEVING GUY and said Lekin Mujhe Vishwaas Hai. So he acceded. But when he saw that in the name of ruining KC Vrat for her, her enemies even poisoned her, his rational mind was so back in his control, that he decided to show her his mind. And this time he explains...He too believed, but God has different plans, so why bother and not just live our lives honestly. True.
is an enlightened mind in his hurt and sorrow, but he will not be a spiritually enlightened mind until he learns to let go of his sorrows and takes happiness and sorrow equally dispassionately.
She is person filled with love for everyone. However, until she has the capacity to absorb all the hurt, knows the existence of pain, hate, deceit, she would not understand what it is to actually love and what it actually means loving.
Until these journeys are not completed, they are not going to be unified with God!, for they both equally love God. And for that reason God set them up against each other.

Ah Shri, a visit to IF is not complete unless I read your posts.
Re you point about their different thinking- agree completely. They are two people who have the same core personas but have lived very different lives- so naturally their reactions, their thoughts, their very understanding of the ties that bind them are different. But, at the same time, what gives me hope that Madhu will eventually fully understand her husband is the fact that she is so similar to him- not by becoming Lady RK, but by understanding RK. Did that make sense? It did in my head, I don't know how well it translated into writing.
And didn't you just love how she answered Diputz. Classy yet cutting. Showing her growth, but retaning her inner Madhuness (a word I just made up right now because nothing else fits).
And no more bhabhi! Yayy!
AA,
Yes. It made sense. And the same is explained through the song...Roothi hoon phir Bhi Main Raazi.
I was just sad today...thinking of this.
Even for fiction...most are upset that RK yelled at Madhu and threw her tray away. So they see yell and throw...assertion. In all the reviews I read...everyone agrees on reality check...but no one wrote on his pain at knowing that Madhu was poisoned. Why if our family member just escaped death or ill health, won't we panic and yell at the same person for being careless ? The guy showed poise and control and lost it when Madhu was in a saree cooking and all...for Gods sake the guy has been running around to safegaurd you and here you are ready to put yourself at peril. And mind you, Madhu does not even know that RK has hired man-power now to keep a watch. That enlightenment some other day for her. Sigh!
There should be sensitivity all round.
And since I always like to share incidents from my life...here's one more.
I once narrowly missed a cobra biting me...it was dusk time at our house construction site and things roamed around. Not my fault. But my mom who was managing there...she just snapped when she got to know how I escaped. There was not a word of sympathy, but all harshness at being being negligent etc...I mean I understood her...I was her sole right-hand there and she was already so burdened. How can I afford to be careless...

I want talk allot about madhu's imagention scene it was cute and again showed what RK means to hear.. i just love that she always imagens him the way he is.. she doesnt change him a bit she loves him the way he is... Poor girl she is trully madly in love with RK like he calles her..childlike if her love is like that...childlike so pure and inniciont..
deepali and madhu scene... I just love madhu's mouth fond the zipper to open this days.. i guess the moment when madhu's stopped respecting her what makes her use her smart gifted mouth.. good...
Now to the big moment... madhu makes food letter is on the plate and goes to feed her pattie his fav food... WOOOW Dont get me wrong but i woudnt want it diffrent...
This is RK.. Yess he was the one showing up for the KC rituals... He stood there not because he wanted to he went for her.. because her faith and her trust that killed him...Even back then he was worried..
So why would he react indiffrent..
He was angry because the same rituals didnt safe his father back then.. And now because the same rituals his wife yes he has totally exepted her that way got very sick and she isnt even giving him time to care for her.. he was worried sick we all saw that... she isnt giving herself any space to rest and again goes cooking dinner for him..you want him to clap?? RK is a emotioneel persoon has his own way to deal with his feeling.. I think even when he was scolding her he was scolding himself..
Well that was what felt seeing his outburst hope it makes some sens..
precap...mommy back in action lets see how it turns out with rk in the scene..woow allready friday tommorow... crying allready
(sorry for any writting mistakes)
Sohaila,
Agree.
@bold. Would like to add.
He is angry that he didn't realize that people can poison his wife's food in their hate for her, will leave her to faint and go to eat by themselves. Day 1 he yelled at his mom...because a corner of his heart still calls her as his mother. it was like...How could you go so low ? Day 2, he gets to know the conspiracy. His mind is already weighed down by practical stuff...equivalent to thinking of her heath and not be any cause of death of her...so he is weighing everything in terms of life and death of Madhu and...lo...there he sees Madhu in a La La land totally oblivious to everything. Per him, she had not an ounce of respect for her body and health condition and here he is mortified of what happened to her and has set aside everything of his work for the day for her to make permanent arrangements for her ...He just couldn't control his anger and went ballistic.
yes, it was emotional moment for him and bhadaas poora Madhu pe nikala jo jad bhi thi saari nautanki ki. And I am sure somewhere he is at least at peace that she kept that fast and he got to know Bhatia's plans for his Biwi. It was like Wake Up RK !!!!

@Shri beautiful post, and I agree with it completely. You have explained today's episode so beautifully.
My view:
I have been attracted to this love story mainly for one reason: its uniqueness. Today's episode was a reminder of why I adore Rishbala. For me today the theme of the episode was: how love can be expressed. The beauty of expressing love remains in each individual's unique action while expressing such feelings. Nonetheless, each individual's action is the product of his or her past experiences. RK and Madhu both expressed their love for each other; however, their approach was fairly different.
RK's reaction did not shock me as much. To be honest, I would have been stunned if he accepted the food and allowed Madhu to feed him; that is not RK at all. Today his anger towards her was actually his love and concern for her. I loved the last scene between them; it actually provided me with a better understanding of his character rather than dislike for him.
Madhu's reaction was expected to be as such. I have always labeled her as a "fixer" and her actions so far has proved me right in naming her. Today her restlessness to express her love for RK was just a pure joy to witness. She indeed has a heart filled with unlimited warmth and softness.
I'm really excited to watch their life journey together. Their love and passion discovery will be emotional as well blissful. I'm totally convinced that there won't be any dull moment in this love story.

The true RK was BACK!!!
Madhu, I guess was carried away into her own delusional world by the sweet RK behavior in the morning which gave her so high hopes that she planned to confess her love for him and he burst the bubble and brought her back to reality...
That entire scene where she contemplates on how to confess was done very neatly, nicely and kinda cute too with she chatting with an imaginary RK who was being in his character... But I fail to understand and connect with Madhu at times like this when she goes off tangent... She herself voiced out about RK that "tedha hai par mera hai" and yet she follows the conventional route "insaan ke dil tak ka raasta uske pet se hota hai" and "a love letter"!!
RK was clearly frustrated that the Bhatias(Dipz) had poisoned her food, yet he didn't have the strong evidence to frame her and so he just leaves the place and actually appoints a Mushtanda in black for each of the scheming Bhatias...
He was already irritated with the events from yesterday's KC drama and then this food- poisoning drama... To top it all, Madhu commits a stupidity... And as usual, he takes out all his pent-up frustration on her... Uska dimaag jitna kharab hona bardasht kar sakta tha, woh kar chuka tha and madhu's act was the last straw and just like the party incident where again he took out his anger on her, he did today too... The only difference was, that day it was unacceptable and today he gave her a piece of his own mind, so that she understands him... Am sure, he would so sth to make her feel better as usual...
Thank God, Madhu standing upto Dipz was not a one-off thing and she is maintaining giving back to Dipz:):)
Radha finally earned some brownie point from me by saying whatever she said to Dipz...
And Zoe, our much-awaited, most exciting Rads-Madhu apology scenewas shown in the precap !!! Can't wait to watch it!!!
Zoya,
Beautiful.
The flow is smooth.
And haan haan haan to your read...
And you know what, the CVs are Mahaa Chaalu. To show's Madhu's silliness, they dressed RK in her imagination in that pink shirt (girly imagination). Wasn't it wonderful. MAdhu was looking so beautiful.

Oh. My. God! Today's episode was a reality check!
This was something I did not expect. It felt like someone punched me or rather knocked me senseless. That was my reaction to RK s outburst. He was in his character. He changes but on his terms and doesn't like being forced to do anything against his wishes. So his outburst was fine but my heart broke for Madhu.
Will update my post later. I'm still in shock.
UPDATE:
At last, I can update my post now! As I have already mentioned yesterday's episode was a good reality check for one and all. It was a big shock for me but, if I had observed the previous episodes I would have known this was coming.. The TRIO - Madhu-RK-Bittu ji are the only main characters in the show now. Rest of them are just fillers.
Oh before I start writing I would like to say.. AA, SD, Soundarya, Gurtiluv... completely agree with what you have said. You have better understanding for the characters than I have. But, this has been eating me since the KC track started.
I don't know what to expect from the story now. It is easy for us to sit here and criticize about the characters and give our varied views about what to do and what not... Only the person facing the music knows and depending upon their presence of mind, they react to the situations. I have never really liked Madhu's character. Even Geet was much more sensible and had lot of depth in her. And even DR. Muskan for that matter. This Madhu character is not written well.
Madhu is what around 21-22 yrs, and as per me she is totally pampered by all. Especially the Malliks. They have always showered her with love and security. She has always been loved, happy childhood for that matter. She has never really suffered as RK did and nor has she the understanding for the pain. She is feeling it for him, agreed. But, going through and just feeling others pain is totally different thing. You never actually have to go through the pain. You are suffering as they were tormented. That understanding is different than actually suffering.
And yes, maturity is not directly or even inversely related to age. One can be 50 yrs old and still be immature. So I won't be blaming Madhu for her immaturity. Maturity comes through experience which Madhu lacks. I was really annoyed with her for defying RK. The man has explained you very clearly WHY he doesn't believe in the whole farce. But, she was being stubborn and immature. Okay, you are traditional and you want to follow all the rituals. Good, carry on.. But, hello!! This is 21st century evolve your traditions. That eating from the trash was a little gross for me. Or maybe it is just me, as I don't believe in fasting. This is like we are bribing God to listen to us. I have faith in God, but I doubt God wants his children to suffer and then bribe him with all these dramas. Okay, I should stop this here.
So, basically I am supporting RK here. Great, I have said it aloud now. I like Madhu and Bittu-ji too. But, RK is the sensible one. We were distracted by Madhu and her dreams that we lost track of reality. This was one good reality check we got from RK. If we were not blinded by Madhu, we could have seen clearly how annoyed RK was getting with each passing minute. Well, Madhu now you know, way to RKs heart is not through his stomach but rather with your brains and logic.
If you go back and see, how annoyed RK was. He was not comfortable doing any of those rituals he did not believe in. He has no doubt about Madhu's sincerity towards the rituals but he places health ahead of this ritual.
First, we saw how much he was shocked that madhu is keeping the vrat even after he told her not to. Madhu, should have got her 1st clue there itself. To please RK, she has to listen to what he says and not defy him and then expect him to be sweet to her. She forced him to do something he did not believe. She is going rather fast on him. he is a scarred soul and such people take time to heal. You cannot expect miracles from them. He is changing but in his own pace. Madhu got a little carried off with her victory that she can handle him and make him do what she wants. That was another MISTAKE she made. Agreed, She is totally in love and she is not seeing anything. Even RK could see, when he explained her nicely she does not listen.
Second, Bittu-ji came and told him how she stole the sargi and how she was taking so much efforts to complete the vrat. Rk, was annoyed at her stubbornness here. he knew she would rather die but not drink water. So, he came running home so that she will complete her vrat. He just humored her and she took all these in her stride. She was happy, her faith in place. But, what for? She almost fainted and is not well now. God, never wanted their children to do this. He made us and provided with food so that we survive. He took care of Madhu. Madhu is important to him. Only one thing kept ringing in my head, his conversation with Malik. There we saw how he told Malik now Madhu was his responsibility and he will
protect her from harms way. True, he is protecting her from physical harm but he is not realising that he is hurting her emotionally.
protect her from harms way. True, he is protecting her from physical harm but he is not realising that he is hurting her emotionally.
Third, in the morning when madhu got up to go to washroom. Their nok-jhok, it was endearing for us. Buy, did you see, how much more irritated her was and how restless he was. When he was ill, she took care of him. But she was not allowing him to take care of her. And then, Bittu-ji interrupted them. One look of his face was enough to chill someone. He was angry. Then following that breakfast drama. Madhu was being kiddish, he said it right. She is a small child inside.
Fourth, and the last straw... Madhu cooking meal for him when she was hardly fit. She should have rested and then took care of making meal for him. What was she thinking??? RK an ordinary guy?? No. Sorry dear, you need to come back to reality. he is no regular guy like that Makki. that one look from him and he just blasted her. That was a reality check for me too. I was blinded by Madhu's dreams and hence all sweet sweet RK was too good. But, then we got our RK back.
I am not saying he did the right thing by throwing away the food tray. But, come on, give him some slack here. The guy has been worried about her health and who could be who is trying to poison her. He can't have a relaxed time. The moment he lets his guard down something happens. he could have told Madhu lightly. But, you know what.. Madhu would not have listened. That throwing the tray did the work. That broke her from her trance and she saw the reality. Madhu will always be childish.
I an relate to RKs reations as I would have done the same. I have little RK in me. I can't tolerate hypocrisy and anything fake. It just ticks me off. But, I am not into hating people. Being an artist I understand to RKs temperament. We are extreme people. We do everything to the extreme and not easy people to live with. I hope, Madhu understands this.
I recently read this book and this one line has stayed with me "One should know when to walk away.." the moment you learn doing that you never will suffer so much.
That is what I want Madhu to understand. She doesn't know to walk away. She keeps barging in. and the result you saw... Only destruction...
i think only this REALITY CHECK was an eye-opener and highlight of the episode. Other scenes just fade away for me.
Sorry, if I have hurt anyone's sentiments. This is just my opinion. You can disagree with it.

Madhu Marriage per My rules, But this is about My Love for you RK
SD,
Agree with you word to word...Beautifully explained...Madhu is in Love and she wanted to live that feeling, express it if only for herself, feel it and do something for it...KC presented itself as an opportunity for her to do all that...RK sees it from Marriage POV where as Madhu does it all in her Love...I would repeat myself here and say RK is a guy who cares for the intent and not the outcome...so,when he understands what's driving Madhu into doing all this not caring for her health ,he would be deeply touched...her ishq is going to fuel his junoon even more...Though Madhu comes up as a conservative, naive girl she thinks in a very elevated, abstract and deeper level...She wanted the sargi not as a customary requirement but,as she considered it a blessing...I would say RK doesn't know his wife fully yet...she is not one who goes about asking..She only gives and there by earns her rights...the basic difference between Madhu and RK though both live for love and honesty is just this...Madhu can accept and understand tainted human emotions as in Radhaji's or RK's (with his obsessiveness) where as RK can only understand the most pure and honest feelings...Madhu is very patient and idealistic in her understanding of people where as RK is idealistic in his expectations and very unforgiving.. .Hence, I feel Madhu is like a bridge that connects RK with Rishab and Rishab with the outside world by bringing in that much needed stability to his emotions and broaden his understanding to human weaknesses ...
As you say both are true to themselves...both thinking from different planes and acting out (not for themselves but,for the other) hence, the conflict...I would say RK still has as much to learn about Madhu as Madhu had to about her hubby...
Hima,
@bold 1
I just don't understand why you doubt your writing skills. Infact, I always like your articulation.
@bold2
While you spoke on RK that he needs to be forgiving and understanding, let us not forget that Madhu needs to set an example of honesty through her love and understanding as well. By repeatedly being closer to RK's mother, she is repeatedly hurting RK. RK has been overlooking that, but there are always moments for him where he cannot forgive that, because Madhu is that obtuse. Where Madhu fails is, she is all goody -goody with Radhaji, never ever we are shown her asking, Maa aapne ye kaisa socha, maa ye aapne kyon kiya. The writers are waiting for a proper time to open this track when Madhu starts dealing with Radunce. Tomorrow is another such D Day where RK will be super upset and have another session at the two women's cuddling. But slowly this Rads needs to be redeemed in truer fashion...if they have to show that Madhu is capable of beating sense into people through her love.
I know one thing...Shiva and Parvati ...Epitome of Love. And they see all and know all. They are able to explain, but when bardashth ke baahar ho jaata hai, they become Rudra...to destroy everything. Sometimes Shiva pacifies Parvati, and at times she is there to pacify him. Loving without knowing the meaning of it is going to be dangerous.

Forgive me if I am misunderstanding what you're trying to say here. You are saying that Madhu is inflicting hurt on RK by bonding with Radhaji. I am no fan of Radhaji, but she has her own share of troubles. Nobody knows what her circumstances were when she remarried. If she really thought she would be providing a fatherless kid with a father figure, then she truly is a dunce. Her son shared a deep bond with his father and she, more than anyone else, should know that he was irreplaceable for 'Rishu'. But I digress.
Madhu found her first and sole supporter in an alien household in her mother-in-law. When she was brought into the house, she was told that she was the ninth servant in the household. After RKs repeated insults, she finally managed to strike a bond with him, and now she loves him deeply. I am not sure that is enough cause for her to cut off every bond with the person who first cared for her in the house. Radhaji is truly only dumb. She is neither mean nor malicious. RKs grouse against her is that she remarried. God alone knows why she remarried...what her reasons (other than the ones she professes) were. By constantly inflicting hurt on Radhaji, RK is holding on to his demons. If he is so practical and sorted, then he should know that dead people do not return, there is no point alienating the people who love you for what you are, and that the past is gone and holding on to it means devaluing the present.
Madhu, who is very much present in the present, knows and acknowledges her love for her husband. She knows the man she married and man she loves are foils to each other. So, she is on treacherous ground...only to the extent that RKs reactions are unpredictable. She will deal with it, but I suppose, in the first flush of love, had forgotten that he has little use for show and tell. Tomorrow, as is famously said, is another day.
Sorry to intrude, but could not resist.
ATN (Kannan),
yes, you got it. So that both of us are on the same page...
Allies and Enemies Matter to us no matter how much we are capable or forging ahead in the world with our sheer resourcefulness.
Radhaji is a mother. Cannot be categorized under Enemy or Friend.
But She is a Bhatia.
And who knows what kind of things RK must have gone through at the hands of the Bhatias that Radha did not protect him from.
And if RK keeps saying to his Biwi that Radhaji is no one to me, how can Madhu disregard him, when because of him, she is in his household, even if it was a 9th naukrani and now a precious wife. Madhu disregards him always. And RK understands why. Because her manners won't allow to disrespect Radhaji.
But then, not once does Madhu come and say RK, I know you asked me not to treat her as anything, but I will not be able to do. And this is explicit...because...now the CVs are writing lines where Madhu is now telling us that she is no doormat, even if she does not speak. Question is why does she not speak ?? And RK is pushing her buttons these days to speak up. All that fire against Dips is provided by RK. Hadn't RK told her everything, she wouldn't have fallen in love and she wouldn't have this possessiveness.
That Madhu doesn't show her trust of RK to RK, already eats him up. He is a guy who needs reassurance...intentions need to be verbalized not just put into into action as then it becomes courage in conviction for him. How much can a guy just try to understand against his basic need. That's why the guy talks so much, so that he gets at least something back to hear. He thinks she does not have high opinion about himself, but does all things for him because SHE is a GOOD person.
In his dreams too, RK feared that Madhu cares for him because of his mother. That changed post Radhaji tried to get Madhu out of his life. However point remains, when did Madhu prove to RK that she just cares for him and not because someone asked her to take care of him? She kept a KC Vrat, but also wanted the UN-wanted mother's Sargi and picked it up from a trash bin. Don't you think this is not helping RK at all ?
He actually forgives people a lot, but when something doesn't strike right, he becomes unforgiving towards the action. Madhu has to show some day to RK that she loves his mother inspite of her foibles as apathy is not an answer to somene's foibles. Until they talk on RADS subject, RK will not be clear on Madhu's affection for him. And now CVs are going to deal with this issue as well...
because RK's father is dealt
Dipali is dealt
Now only Rads is left
for his heals to be completed before new characters make entry to to do Rishbala...

SD,
Thanks...RE Radhaji Bold...That's exactly why I called her idealistic in her understanding, far from reality... I myself can't forgive Radhaji for making a turnaround and trying to send away Madhu
even against her son's wishes...it was a sham calling herself Madhu's 'ma' and not thinking of her life if she had to go back to her maika...any girl however good hearted would at least express her disappointment before forgiving but,not our Madhu...she has to be out of the world and understand Radhaji with no questons...may be partly due to the guilt of what her father did weighing on her and also may be she just makes up for her husbands rudeness...I mean RK hurts his mother so much that it ignites sympathy and pity in Madhu and hence the softness...but,then her this very trait of understanding helps her feel RK's pain and see where he is coming from...it made her fall in love with that man who in turn would cherish her as no one...
Re... Madhu's closeness with his mother which RK doesn't like...I guess he has to bear and learn to live with it just like Madhu lives with RK's rude behavior with his mother which she disapproves...It happens in couples...both don't have same likes and dislikes...and you just can't out rightly cut off with one relation just because the other one doesn't like it... space and freedom is required in a healthy relationship...

true..but theirs is not a healthy relation so far..it just transformed into pyar from nafrat ...neither did Madhu ask him what exactly is the problem b/w him and Radha, nor is RK comfortable telling her...by what we have seen so far, he pointed out that Radha commited 3 mistakes..first kukuji , then Sikky then Dipali...first, he knows kukuji inside out , RK knows he's just using his mom for this luxury life , he's not worthy of being a husband or a father..the real story is not known na in detail..how Sikky was launched in bollywood n kukuji must be supporting him n putting RK down, God knows how much humiliation he faced bec. of father-son and his mother never did anything abt it? Radhaji knowing that RK loved Dipali, allowed sikky to marry Dips and she was never so unhappy with Dips was she? Dips was also one of the reason of RK's bitterness but Radhaji supported her, the way she never turned against senior and junior bhatia !
I'm not annoyed with Radha for changing sides..which mother will love her DIL after learning the truth that bahu's father tried to kill her son? she was confused about the role of Madhu in all this...still, i cannot bring myself to like her bec. of her equation with RK..there must be a solid reason behind his behavior tht he never even talks to her directly n address her as janam dene wali aurat ! either Madhu should find it out n then decide or in general, talk to RK about it and try to understand his POV , rather than doing ma bhajan .. that way she will be in the line of fire again..

Lovely post Zoya, but then again you always write beautifully.
@Bold very true, heck he even made me understand him better. I didn't feel any anger towards his actions today; he made it clear in a perfect way what he wants. RK's cards are on the table and now it is Madhu turn to be smart and play the game well. She might lose few rounds while trying, but at the end she will be victorious (she better be, the entire honor of Rishbala addicts are in her hands).
@Blue, LOL! I tried to give Radunce some points, but the more I thought about her action the more upset I became. She witnessed the fall of Dipzy, so she changed teams in spilt of second. Now she wants to be part of Madhu's party. I can't stand this selfish woman. She sees how Madhu is winning over RK, so all of sudden she is a Madhu lover, disgusting. Her actions today+tomorrow made me think that Radhu can run for an office and become a MLA or MP. She is at her best when it comes to playing dirty, the woman can be a successful politician.
@Red, oh BOY!!! That precap killed it for me!!! The Baysur singer is waiting for her stage entry tomorrow; I'm stopping at Walgreens to get some earplugs for tomorrow.
Zoe, no political party would want such a rolling stone... Na jaane kab party badal le...
@precap: I am a bit relieved that RK makes his entry and am sure he would say sth caustic to balance out the sweetness she is going to shower on our screens..
Keeping a balance when following a ritual

An aside, has anyone at real fought with elders for making you follow rituals that you are abhorring from heart ? Pls don't take this personally. Just a rhetorical question thrown in to show turmoil. Its quite a strong subject in itself.

@SD - It is a very strong subject, one that makes you think. I haven't had the experience of being forced to do any ritual, but i love rituals...and this is my own choice, I might add. Nothing was ever forced upon me.
Since you asked for a real example...my husband does not, categorically does not believe in any rituals. And i enjoy them. But since this is the real world, we have given each other space to live and let live. These are very basic, fundamental premises in life. So I do what I have to, and he does'nt interfere or make fun of it or anything. After so many years of marriage, now he at least hangs around while there is some shindig, and it's more to watch the children than anything I have changed.
Coming back to RK-Madhu...
Ganpati issue - was one of faith in God. There , madhu tried to make him understand faith in God is not conditional, which was fine, ultimately her logic worked for him.
KC issue - is one of rituals. On KC evening, he did reach that stage where he was willing to go through with it for Madhu's sake, though he had no great emotions vested in the actual function. When it got OTT for him,...1) she was sick 2) she picked up sargi from the dustbin (that 'respect' word he threw at her, I thought came from this particular act of eating sargi from the dustbin)
Madhu needs to understand the difference, and let go ...
