Let's fix our families before fixing ourselves in a saat-phera marriage
Episode 148  Discussion: 18th Dec 2012

Episode Events
RK comes home with that Trishna curse in mind. He catches hold of Madhu as she falls down who is trying to remove the photo from the wall. The Photo is of hers and RK's taken at Jagrata, gifted by Radhaji and fixed by the man-servant. RK lets the photo be and clears all misunderstanding between himself and Madhu. He cites his understanding of Madhu's reasons as to be her wish to fix Trishna's career, fix her mother and her Malik's (Shamsher) life. He then asks, will she come with him once her fixing is done. She says yes. Then RK proposes a saat phera marriage to Madhu to rectify his mistake. Plus he also says the marriage will be taken up until after they have fixed their families. Then Madhu proposes that not just her family needs to be fixed, even RK needs to fix his relationship with his mother. RK is angry, but he feels there is some credit to it. He spends the night in his painting room. He is in the middle of the painting when he spills the color platter. He remembers his mother instructing him to be careful with colors, brush and paint with the emotion whatever comes from his heart. He now tries to do the same. After a while, he sleeps. When he wakes up he sees that he painted a total black painting with no emotion. He calls for his servants for washing his hands. There comes Radhaji with water. Upset he calls for Madhu and goes to Hall. Radhaji tells that Madhu had gone to temple and she gets him tea as all servants are on leave. RK doesn't talk but takes to the kitchen and keeps it aside and starts making tea by himself. He ponders and in the end, he decides to let it go and has the tea,

Highlight of the episode
RK and Madhu understand each other. RK understands Madhu's dilemma and tells her that Madhu cannot forgive Shamsher Malik for what he did and yet she cannot deny that they have a relationship. There is pain, but she needs to just let it go as that would help things. Likewise Madhu reminded RK that he cannot forgive his mother, but there is a relationship that he cannot deny and he should let go the pain as it would only help him move on.
Beauty of the episode
When Rishabh Kundra looks at his black painting and doesn't like what has come out from his heart thinking about his mother. At that kind of expression from inside, makes him realize that he needs to let it go, call it truce so that his heart can picture/hold beauty. Loved how his conflict went on between his making his own cup of tea and the cup of tea that his mother made for him.

Episode Review
Reconciliation and Fixing before Leaving track
There was nothing much there in the episode that needs to be analyzed today. We just had to see the developments in terms of story. So now we know...Rishabh wants to leave everthing behind and take Madhu away, far from all this. Madhu is also ready to go. Before they can do this, he promised that he will help her fix her family. Likewise, she also wants to his family.

If we, both did not talk about love for their families. But to move on with their life, to step onwards to their love filled journey together, they don't want curses or unhappiness to dog them or nag them.

Its like they want to do Bidai, but in all proper manner so that they can move on. So this track is about let's fix our broken relationships, before we try to settle down. There is so much that we both need to correct before we can think about our happiness...untainted as it should be. We want to be blessed by them and not cursed.

Other than this...there was nothing much in the episode. I already spoke about how Madhu fixed the mother -son relationship today. She requested Rishabh and then stubbornly made him see reason. Good enough for me. Because mother-son issues never should have taken years to resolve and it would not have taken that much time had it not been for RADUNCE.

Radhaji & Madhu-Radhaji-RK equation

I really have to say something here and am so excited about it. Remember we all discussed, actually Bhoomi was more vocal about it. Later on Leela joined us.

We were saying then that no a way a child would not have been able to open himself if Radhaji had more of confidence in herself and trusted her son too. It is so easy for mothers to scold, reprimand their children and sometimes go against their child's wishes for their own betterment. Children hate their mother for being so harsh with them. And later on the mother would know winning ways to cajole and humor her child.

We all lamented that how Rads could not win back her child. Could not say, "Rishabh/Rishu your anger is totally unwarranted...now get your ass back here and start eating what I am feeding you."   She never had the gut to do it. Because may be she never had that much of love in her word. What a meek woman she is...so "chalaktha hua Ghada" which just makes a noise.

In comparison, today...when Madhu said from behind, Maa, woh Chai zaroor piyenge, all my matronly feelings came out. Infact this feeling so touched me in the entire episode that I paused the video and came here to write.

I mean, when will Rads know that one needs to believe in goodness, then only good will happen. She being a mother, how could she have a heart, where she cannot hope one good for her son and it is always about her insecurities flashed out. And the more she doesn't believe, the more insecurity, fear and distrust had been passed on to her child. A child's heart is ready to imbibe anything. So all Rishu got from Rads was insecurity in inheritance and his channelising all that into anger.

Anyways, when Madhu said, he will drink, I could see the mother in her and I could see Rishabh the child there struggling in his mind to beat his emotion and rationalizing, why can't he drink the tea. After all its just tea.

I remember my childhood...God!!! My mother was a tyrant. I used to fear her, not like her...she was just that whom I should be wary of ...but in my 15th year, when I was doing my revisions for board exams and she used to go out of home to her friend's place, I yelled at her crying, that she leaves me alone. Till date I remember her face...it was a clueless face...with amazed expression as to where did it come from. She started laughing aloud. And then I felt embarrassed. Probably that was the first emotional display between both of us. Now that the cat was out of the bag, I did not stop crying and she did not hesitate to leave behind her tyrant image and caressed me and said that she was actually doing me a favour by going out, else her friends will come home and I would be disturbed..and saying that she left.

I mean mothers always know how to go around their children. If Padmini or Madhu would have been Rishabh's mother, he would never have turned this weak.

RK's reconcilation with his mother (Radhaji) through the painting.
About RK/Rishabh having that tea, when he seemed so much capable to make a cup of tea for himself...the way I read is...when there is so much happiness out there reaching out to to you and you want to bask in it...then it makes sense to do away with pain and displeasure quickly...like all gile shikwe mitaana ...and just move on. Rishabh while drinking that tea was actually listening to Madhu's word to move on ...with relationship (love /no love that's a separate matter...at least the pain will not be there to hurt you)...and he was ready to let go his mother-issue-pain because he was ushering in happiness from his bonding with Madhu. That's HOPE there ...He nurtured hope for himself today by LETTING IT GO.

Healing is a long process...I mean time taken to arrive at right diagnosis is long, sometimes it takes forever to find the right medicine, but then always there is that one single magical moment which takes us bu surprise and we are ready to get healed. For Rishabh, that day was today. He just chose to end it...because the painting that he painted in black was JUST NOT HIM.

Agreed Shri, those are the two things that stood out for me. I have whined about Radhaji being weak, guillable and so forth, but there is one thing we can't deny. She loves her son very much. As a mom I can totally relate to that. Its sad that things had to be so bad between her and Rishu but then there wouldn't be a show for us to watch.
I sincerely hope that she smartens up about all the Bhatia's. The sooner she figures out what a bunch of blood sucking leaches they are the better.
There is nothing worse for a Mom when she knows she has let her child down and they dispise her.

In the BG he keeps hearing his mother's instructions, on what to paint and the best part was the next day when they show the canvas, it was as chaotic as his own feelings (I was actually waiting to see what had he painted? Is it his mother or Madhu?)  He needs a closure to a lot of things. When the new heroine says she is lucky to have her debut with RK, he says/feels he is unlucky. All this would stop, once he has a closure with all the relationships which went sore.
It would actually be interesting to have a closure with Dipali track. A reluctant ex who is not ready for a closure and RK finding a way for a closure from with in

Shri,
@ Bold...Until I read this,it didn't occur to me...yes,his pyaar bhi hain aur dard bhi hain holds true for both Madhu-Shamsher and RK-his mother.Seems both of them are going to make peace
with their respective parents at the same time during this track...

@ other..Liked what you said and agree...The FB he remembers during the painting session is of his mother being patient and lovingly teaching him of holding the brush and paint...This,I guess is a revelation to his conscious mind of the fact he knows all along that no matter what his mother does love him...FB triggered by Madhu (to listen to his heart) kind of forced him to accept it...In the morning when he sees the painting it again was a revelation of his inner self...The chaos, the extent of the bitterness and anger he is been indulging in towards his mother...Now that the contrast(of his mothers love and his bitterness) has come to his conscious mind,he is going to confront it , deal and make peace with it...he can no longer deny his own hidden affections for her...

By SD
Thank you Hima.

What I liked about yesterday was ...just like RK doesn't want Madhu to become his doctor (because of his past experiences) but he cannot deny what she said, that he needs to heal. I was saying on Dec 6th discussion, with you and ATN, that either Madhu needs to confront Radhaji about whys? or she needs to talk to Rishabh Kundra about his mother. She appealed to RK on Dec 6th when she scolded him for being rude to his mother and he apologized. And today she again appealed to Rishabh and Rishabh the hurt person also decided it time to retire. His deciding has effectively removed his dependence on doctors in his life and the fear of deception. Healing in real sense starts when person who is hurt sees what damage is happening to him by remaining bitter.

For me showing it through the painting scene and later in kitchen...him trying to just do it away with everything...that gulping down tea rather than sipping tea, made so much sense. Because when you let it go, you forgive people, you get more pleasure and relief from it...this is infact more than what Madhu's closeness can give him.  But that Madhu thought about helping him in this manner, is gonna make him appreciate her worth. Such a contrast betweem Dipali and Madhu. One said, you can never be happy and so don't expect love, don't look for it...but Madhu...she says, its not about love, its about a relationship that you cannot deny and you still love that person...Dipali made him look like a beggar to himself...whereas Madhu made him the rich man who can give away.

Preet messaged me yesterday and said...so Shri you got the painter there and it must have appealed to you. I said yes. In this regard we both think alike...we just cannot hold grudges close to heart...Naasoor ban jaate hain.

I am happy it made sense to Namzz and many others too.

According to Radha, RK had shut his heart to everyone in this world. So she felt that there was no point in trying to get closer to him and thus stayed away from him. But from the time, Madhu has started to make a place in his heart, she realized that he is starting to open up his heart which raised her hopes.. She saw that RK had made peace with his father and Bappa after the Ganpati track bcoz of Madhu..
and she knows that he is letting only Madhu in and no one else. So Madhu is the ladder to reach out to him...
Today, she was a lil hesitant to lie to RK that Madhu has gone to the mandir too..
@paint: Radhaji was shocked to see the messed-up canvas and understands the damage she has caused to him. That is why she was so down and was sure that he would never drink the cup of tea made from her hands.. But she went ahead with this childish prank coz Madhu would have convinced her of the same and when it comes to RK, Madhu knows better...

P.S: DO not mistake me to be proponent of Radhaji
By Tanu
Thank u for the reply. And no, i will not mistake u to be advocate of Radha.
The problem I have with Radha is that she didnt try enough. I would buy the arguement that RK shut himself form the world and he needed to be given space if he was a grown up man. If she though a 13 yr old child needs space, especially when he has lost his father and has to adjust to him mom married to someone else and allowed him shut himself off... She failed as a mother! Period! Even if i have to say it is fine leave him alone... i cant imagine leaving a kid alone for more than 24 hours... and here it is 15 years! And frankly if it was anyother bond in the world I may still discount it... but  I cant beleive a mother cannot reachout to her child, her only child and especially when she was the ONLY one he had in this world to call his own! For a child to spend sleepless nights not for a day or two but for 15 years with a mother under same roof is a Mother's failure. I am not questioning her love for her son, I am questioning her conviction to make her son's life atleast peacefull,  if not happy. I get angry when I see her shed tears at her son's ruthless behaviour. Has she spared a thought on why despite all the anger and hatred RK still stays with her, puts up with the Bhatias so much so hides their misdeeds only for her? Forget RK, lets write him off as an impossible kid, what about Sikki? Sikki must be a year or 2 older than RK... has she been a good mother to him? I dont see a bond there at all... whatever it is it is demonstrated by her relationship with Dipali.
I agree that Madhu is the only one he allows into his world, but has Madhu had it easy? Madhu probably had the toughest chance to make a meaningful relationship with RK... but she managed. It was her grit and conviction that held ground infront of a ruthless RK. And Radha had her own child infront of her to care and nourish and she failed. I agree it is but natural for Radha to seek Madhu's help. What will disappoint me a great deal will be if Madhu sees this situation only from Radha's prespective(which is the case untill now). Why should Rishab relent? He has reasons to be angry too... I want those to addressed. I want Madhu to remind Radha that though RK has kept away from her... she has been the only one RK has cared for until now and knowing how slow Radha is, may be even illustrate how RK has taken care of his mother despite himself.
Radha's character disappoints me for the lack of depth and more importantly the self pity she indulges in.

I think that the RK's hug looks like thath, because of he is shy of greater intimacy, since he wants to have "physical contact" with Madhu.

You know what I mean.

And to give credit...

  1. This was his first hug where he wanted to respond
  2. That too after a big misunderstanding and a bad day at the studio, with him almost running naked in front of everyone
  3. He was trying again to step back into a reasonable person in love and not insane person in love.
  4. He could be longing, but that curse from Trishna already scared him enough to make him think of restarting everything with a clean system reboot.
First hugs in extreme emotional and vulnerable state are not about passion, but are about sensitivity. Certain awkwardness always exists in first hugs.
Good thing was both were getting comfortable and ready to snuggle further

Leaving behind and an Artist's retreat

SD: I completely understand where you are coming from. I understand he is an artist. He needs retreat. My concern was not about what he would do for money. It is not even with the professions they are holding or whether they are employed or not. I was thinking loud because it is not about RK alone but involves Madhu too. Housewife or not, she has had her own life until now. Just because one gets married and one loves the spouse so much, it is not necessary that the spouse be expected to abandon everything and go. I understand why RK demands that or behaves like that. We have discussed about him in layers at length. It is good to live moments and not think about future but when two individuals are involved there has to be harmony in such desire. When one of the two has promises to keep or when one has not severed ties with the family and of its duties, the future weighs more than the moment. I would say Radha didn't think of the future much and was taking a momentary decision when she remarried because back then I presume she was worried about Rishab and did not have the confidence to bring him all alone (per what she said in one of the epis). Thus, the state of their relationship. I am not trying to argue but somehow I cannot see RK becoming so weak. I don't know if I made my thoughts clear. Tried to put them across. No hard feelings please.

In marriage, one partner has to for a compromise. If they cannot, their marriage is broken. Period. That's why lives of artists have more of broken marriages. It is a reality ...everyone knows that.

An artist...half of the time...even when living in same place...the mind is not shared...it goes into its own trips. Its love that keeps the marriage alive. There could also be meeting of two minds at intellectual level that also keeps two partners together. The thing that they showed today ...no one can separate us ...when Rishabh says so...there is a catch in it...coz he is an artist. He could be his own enemy.

We need to add a lot of sensitivity into this story if we need to understand this kind of story.

Its like Ramakrishna Paramahansa...respecting his wife all the time...but never actually having a proper conjugal life. He saw Goddess in her...but did the wife think of this kind of life ?

The Artist and the Performer in Rishabh Kundra

Over the Dec 7th Episode as we watch RK redoing Karva Chouth ka Vrat todna at Natraj Studios, we closely observer RK, the Artist and the Performer who is feeling all natural and spontaneous in a surrounding that is quite comfortable to him.

In the earlier episodes, as the sculptor, he seemed formidable man with talents but then that hate passion for Madhu was there and also in the bike scene, he was super arrogant. So he seemed a man of the other world. But today, it was like I was seeing a man, happy in his creative energy and shows us how goes deep into things like why you see a man from the sieve in a KC - the woman's festival. Who would have thought RK knows that !

Celebrating Karva Chouth his Style was good idea. Anyways this is RK. Everything that applies to him and Madhu, he needs to participate, give his 100%. So he gifts the KC gift by re-celebrating it, explaining the sieve in established religion method and practical way of looking at practice. When he was talking about women lifting their ghooghat a bit to see their hubby's ugly faces, I was laughing. I was transported to my sociology class where our lecturer used to go into actual ritual meaning and the practice of it by people. Anyways I liked this KC...It was almost like any rendezous of two lovers with moon as their witness. The customary water from Bisleri and the melted dairy chocolate as a substitute for earthen pitcher and Sweet condiment in the thali, was liked by me.  Madhu might say...RK you are just incorrigible with that humungous ego, that you have to redo it...but then Madhu might also feel. This is so much better than all that waiting and tears and hoping against hope...or may be not. May be she would say that was one ecstacy, this is another one. My two memorable first KCs !!

And then as the night gets rangeen in Biwi's company, RK gets an idea to go for music and just like that he finds a Radio. Guys tell me, do we have radios like that nowadays ? Anyways...so he wants to dance. Madhu inadvertantly goes back to remember her earlier time when RK wanted to dance with her with that gesture of his. However with no hard feelings she accepts the hand in all glee. Seems they both  expected a racy 21st century song...and me too...but out of the blue...God knows which Radio jockey was that...I listen to this UK radio...the Punjabi RJ's play old songs for crowd like me...so out of the blue, Daadiamma Daadiamma  Maan Jaao comes up. And they both start laughing. Aur phir kya honaa hai. Madhu hase aur RK na phase aisa ho sakta yeh kya ?

The Studio is altogether A NEW WORLD for RK. He is just not the one that we see him at his home, residence. For that matter RK did not look the one that he is in RK mansion when he was talking to Shamsher and Padmini in their Chawl.  Is RK then a Peter Pan ? Never happy at home and always going to Neverland ?

RK was very easy flowing and smooth with Madhu in the studio. He was a proud and ecstatic of his achievement for his Biwi, and he kept on showing one after the other his antics. The shine in his eyes reminded me when he was playing the piano, after giving a heart-felt beautiful description of his set for the new film and mentions that his heroine will come from the bridge and Madhu makes the entry. He is just so lost in that visual...of her over the bridge and at that he doesn't stop his performance and he keeps on playing.

Both Rishabh and Madhu were easily giving in to each other through fine performances. And none of it seemed forced. He guided her and she too performed. The KC ritual was the vehicle of actions for them, it was like the script given to them and both of them knew, when to see the moon, when to break the fast thru water, the chocolate and reverse feeding. And soon the act ended and Rishabh wanted to go for next act of dancing, which got foiled with that song, totally throwing them off balance and ticking them off to a real laughter rather than performing for each other. And throughout their act for each other which was delightful to either, they had oodles of chemistry building up between the two. And like good actors, they were controlling their desires and keeping up with repartees in each other's company.

RK - The Superstar vis-a vis RK the Artist
Heard lot of VD interviews. But never I thought of it as real. I think I have been ignoring a lot. VD actually got into the skin of his role and he is performing RK act with a passion. The character RK that I am seeing all these days in Studio, fine I know that he is passionate about his work and seems more balanced here than at his home. But today in Madhu's company when I saw RK, I realized in this MUTE WATCHING that RK the Superstar is not just a Star. He is an ARTIST. And like a true ARTIST he can create and destroy himself to take his creation to the finest level.

His Muse, His Inspiration - Madhu
He is an actor who acts per the director and writers script given to him. But with Madhu today, he created everything for her, so she was being his inspiration, his Muse. This RK that I saw today...the Happy One, infact seemed quite consuming in his need to create, his zest as a presenter, his ecstacy in seeing happiness in Madhu's eyes...She was his precious audience at that time. RK needed to show his 100% participation, but the set he decorated for her was more than participation, it was like he created everything for her. What if she doesn't like it ? What is his viewers don't like his creation anymore ? Most artists vacillate between being morose and then extremely in high spirits.

Madhu will need to toughen up dealing with this artist husband, who is going to be sensitive, lost in his own mental labyrinths needed for his artistic creation, who feels chaotic about his home, needs to take periodic trips to studio and dreamworld and lose himself. I don't know why, I kept remembering the initial promos where RK asks Madhu to lose herself in this dreamworld.

And Madhu and RK have a lot of chemistry, undercurrents of passion was just showing up. Because, not once I saw Madhu being shy. When she had to control the situation she turned her eyes away from him, but Gosh! she was perfect partner for him today. For such a young girl (as compared to RK's age and his experience), she was a woman with grace and poise. And RK was just liking that as if he found what he had been looking for in his creative world. The way RK was looking at Madhu today in the studio was no different when he saw her first time in the studio and continued playing piano enjoying her in his view.

Everyone in his daily life is a performer and an artist in some sense. Our creations may not be showcased, but we do create something daily. But what sets the artist that we know as artist...is his passion to consume himself to create something artistic. Ain't I right ?

Responded by Soundarya

@SD- OH my God, what a coincidence, all your words above, my thoughts exactly at this very moment. I would have written in my staccato style, not as eloquently as you put it. To add to it:

RK the performer - the artist- I have always felt that not enough attention is given to him as a creative artist...his sculpture, his piano playing, his acting, his dialogues, all of them indicate an extremely creative, highly sensitive artist. Which is why his mood swings somehow make sense to me (I know SBCC will roll their eyes). I have mentioned this earlier, all interviews with star wives  (Jaya B, Suzanne Roshan etc) mention that their husbands need a lot of space, at such times, it is the grounded atmosphere at home that keeps them sane.
And to make my point about RK, Madhu  stimulates him, gives him stability and goes alongwith his madness...Big Boss dialogues, Mr India. In time, she will become his muse.
I always felt that he fell in love with her the first time he saw her on that bridge, and yes, I agree that yesterday, I was reminded of that scene as well.
I don't have any doubts he loves her, but yes, he will always be insecure in love, that will cause more problems for them than anything else.

Madhubala - I loved it that she did'nt appear sickeningly coy, like most soap heroines. She looked at him in the eye, with the same amount of passion that he felt. Even in the car, when he tried a mild threat, 'mera mood kharab ho jayega', she hesitated, but still did'nt get out.And also, for someone who famously said, he does'nt walk behind anybody, I noticed she walked out of the room first, she walked into the studio ahead of him. And he did'nt mind!He did'nt even notice. Oh yes, he is in love, and she wields a great amount of power over him, smewhere justifying the title - MEIIJ. They just don't know it yet.

Responded by apolloartemis
You know Shri, between your analysis and that of others- this is for KT, Sound, Bhakti and all the great writers on this thread, I feel like a little tugboad among luxury cruisers. Like, what am I doing writing here?
But yes, totally agree with you about RK the Superstar and RK the artist- infact from the beginning we saw hints of Madhu becoming RK's muse from the moment he saw her at the studio- the impromtu piano playing, sculpting her through his injuries etc. Indeed, I would argue that it's RK the artist that drove Rishab's initial obsession with Madhu almost more than RK the Superstar whose ego had been offended. I'm saying this because even after the press conference, when he had basically destroyed her life, RK was still thinking about Madhubala- there was no need to give her a call to tell her what she already knew- he did it because he didn't know how to distangle himself from her. And then he entangled himself permenantly.
This muse analogy is why I think, no matter what happens between RK and Madhu in the future, they will not be able to stay away from each other. Because the current that is between them, the passion, the junoon, is now deeply embedded in their souls. Whatever form their surface emotions take, the need to always be near each other will never go away. Like I've said many time, RK and Madhu's core personas are the same- the selfness that is selfishness in its own way, the egos, the insecurity etc, they have similar personalities. And if Madhu is RK's muse, then RK has placed himself above even Bappa in Madhu's eyes. How can a person stay away from that?
It's almost comforting in its own way, because we know, unlike other serials, whatever happens, whatever he feels, RK will not allow Madhu to be taken from him.
Also, sorry for the long reply, but I have to say, I adored what you said about Madhu not being coy. I love that about her. So many other soap heroines are always shying away when the moments are passionate, and I'm always like "Could you please be a little more comfortable? I don't feel like I'm watching a romance here. You look unwilling...that makes me uncomfortable."
Seeing Madhu have equal passion, and more importantly, not shy away from it, is a refreshing change.

@Shri, The forums are in need of a superlike button or standing ovation button bcoz of you:):)

I had written in my review that dil se taar jud nahi paayi when I saw the episode for the very first time. I could not really pinpoint the reason but when I re-watched the episode y'day night, i realized that RK was so full of life and lively at the studio, which was so unlike his behavior with Madhu/anyone else at home... And today when I came here, your second take washed away all my confusions and now I can say that the episode was superb...

After reading your take, I recalled that RK near the lake-side scene where he had told that "Is duniya mein RK jaisa ek hi insaan hai jo marke bhi zinda hai"... But he becomes alive when he is in front of the camera.. He loses himself into his make-believe world of theatre...  He also said sth about he always wanting to find solace in someone after every betrayal and that after Dipz betrayal, he stopped seeking solace... At that time, i had just taken in what he had said and it is true too... I know what he actually meant by solace but if you view it differently, after all those betrayals, he did find solace, tranquility in his creativity, artistic ability, viz, his parde ki duniya... Ofcourse he was still lonely with no one to cherish him but i think all the events that occurred in his life  gave him the zeal to invest all his energies in becoming the  superstar he is, as you said the artist he has become. He is deep down still a sucker for love and that his superstar status, the thought that the public cherishes him, gives him some kind of consolation...

I have told that he found solace in his creativity but i did not mean that his creativity would become the healer of his wounds... I just meant that he forgets his pain and loses himself to the pleasure, joy that the realm of theatre offers him...

And you had also told that he was a bit apprehensive if Madhu would like his creation... I guess he was, coz after all his KC drama was played out, at some point he was looking into her eyes  and when she questioned him kya hua, he said kuch nahi and removed his gaze from her...Prolly he wanted to see if his world actually thrills and excites her as much as it does to him and he would have sure found happiness... Madhu's behavior at the studio, was more like tumhare saath main kisi bhi duniya mein khush rahoongi... <---- I am assuming its this coz i don't exactly remember when this gazing sequence came in the scene.. He might have looked at her for some other reason too...

I hope what I wrote made sense... And if it was bakwaas, sorry for the post... I didn't think twice before writing it..

P.S: I didn't quote your post coz am browsing through phone now and the post becomes messy and annoying when quoted and  long... The emos also are kinda weird so i couldn't put it for my reaction to your post...

SD,
It was fantastic what you wrote of RK- The artist..I just loved loved and loved it...Until now,it never occurred  to me what exactly RK being artistic means but,now I get it...It gives a whole new
dimension to RK and to the way I would perceive his actions and reactions from now on..Rishabala's first encounter seemed so poignant...I tried to make sense of it..but, could never really understand it completely...Now I get it...When RK sees Madhu on the bridge I guess he was spell bound with the perfection...the perfect portrait to what he envisioned...or may be it was even beyond what he thought of and yes, it sent him in to a state of ecstasy,a blissful state of unity that an artist would find with the beauty of creation which in turn would act as an inspiration for their own creations...I could now pretty well see what you mean by Madhu being the muse of RK...the feelings that he feels for her,the different emotions that she awakes in him which he himself is not aware of could very well ignite his creative passion and and he would be at peace only only when he expresses them... through his art..I guess we would have continued to see this if the tracks had not been switched...I just hope cv's won't neglect this aspect of RK's personality and continue with their plan of RK molding Madhu and her being an inspiration to his may artistic creations...it sure would be an enthrilling watch if the cv's take us on the journey through the Artists's soul...I wonder if RK would turn a director too when Madhu is made an actress...that would be interesting than them just being co-stars... Shridevi...I remember you saying how Madhu's beauty comes across to him and how it captivates him...yes,it captivates the artist in him and this along with his feelings for MB stirs his soul and ignites and fuels his passion for creation...Thank you for putting forth this new perspective...I am  too happy at this new revelation for me.

Episode events
Radha comes and apologizes to MAdhu. RK takes Madhu to Studio to make up with her yelling at her and also recelebrating KC vrat for all the bitterness that MAdhu had to go through from him and all the Bhatias. Both enjoy each other's company, redoing the KC Vrat todna, listening to songs and all in the decorated studio. *****Must see episode as it is a visual and not much in terms of events. Else you can read reviews below.

My Episode Take

I rate this episode A. I am tempted to give A+, but NO, there is a drama is continuing into Monday...who knows what holds us for on that day.

I discovered two things in the episode:
1) RK the Artist
In the earlier episodes, as the sculptor, he seemed formidable man with talents but then that hate passion for Madhu was there and also in the bike scene, he was super arrogant. So he seemed a man of the other world. But today, it was like I was seeing a man, happy in his creative energy and shows us how goes deep into things like why you see a man from the sieve in a KC - the woman's festival. Who would have thought RK knows that !

2) Rishbala - Love or Passion
I was very much confused watching them, whether I was seeing love or passion. When it was becoming love and when it becoming passion, we never know, as if it is interspersed throughout their interaction. It was like Madhu holds up herself like Love but sees him with eyes full of Passion. And RK holds up like Passion but there is lot of Love in his eyes when he looks at her (here in the studio...not to be confused with his home).

So this is my episode review for  me today.
  • First Half - Lighter drama, needed staple
  • Second Half - Serious drama as build-up for upcoming events.
First Half commentary as I watched.
RADUNCE : becomes a Leaky Tap.
Says She : Pata Nahin Main Kyoon kisi ke Behkaave main aa gayi, Tum par Shak kar Baithi.
Says Me : Chidiya Chug Gayi Khet, Ab rone se kya faayda; Radha Maiyya!!!!
Says the Muse : Apne beta Rishu ki Maa Nahin ban paayi, to Madhu teri maa kaise ban paati. Use maaf kar de Madhu !!!
Once the Muse gives permission to Madhu,  Aa Aaa BG melodrama music plays. Madhu Sweet&Low was so sweet  that I started feeling pukish and I was writhing in pain when Thank God! scene was stopped by the blue colored Raw Cane Sugar. Natural Sugar is so much better than SweetNLow. Sigh!
Oh! God he said the same thing that I felt... "pahle gayrayee se soch le aur phir kaam kare"
Oh! Rads cries again.
Oh that car scene!!! ...Jaise filmon mein hota hai  ...Dolta hua !! Wasn't it doling too much ? Hindi wala Dolnaa...RFOL!!!
Colors making RK promote Big Boss.- Channel requirement. Fitted well !
Please scene...Done well. Will come back to it later.
Andhera scene ...Had to added. How can they forget ? They just cannot. Else I would have ranted.
Just at the snap of the finger lights come up. So RK and Madhu are not totally alone. Some technicians might be there. Right ?
Okay Zoya, you were remembering the Party Scene so much. And here it is... They needed to remind peope how things have changed from last time. Hmmm!
KC scene + rituals - Done well.
Episode ending with the song and being lost into each other - Done well.

Now coming to the serious drama and writing the way peeps started knowing me.Sometimes I can be fun too !
Yesterday or rather often times I have said, that RK heeds to what Madhu says. He hears her, and actually seeks her reassurance. And so it would be better Madhu talks to RK. Lekin that is CV's weapon, will not let Madhu talk. Sigh!!!

So Madhu, chided RK for speaking tauntingly to his mother. "What will happen if you not be so harsh and be a little softer" asks Madhu. When he answers K will get deleted from RK, meaning he won't do it. As simple as surname Kundra cannot be deleted from Rishabh Kundra. Then Madhu goes on to say, "I know you are apologetic but you will not seek sorry because your K cannot be deleted from RK". And she means his ego here. RK feels that. The showed his penitent face. Yes, it is that face and yes he has ego and yeah the world doesn't like it, but then he has his reasons to keep it. He just needs to make it up in his way. That face reminded me so much of the studio night face.

The car dolna and Big Boss promo started and RK tries his best to coax his Biwi to talk. She does not relent. He stops in front of Natraj Studio. She is surprised. He comes to escort her. She is doing her Nakhre. RK Mansion is one hell of a place for them. They never can get enough of each other. Always a volcano is ready to erupt there. But come to Studio, Madhu becomes Queen Bee for whom RK is ready to become the drone, especially the night when Studio is all Khaali and might I add as well, becomes a Khaalistan (The Pure Land once dreamed by Akaali Taqt Leaders in 80's).

So RK starts apologizing to her without actually saying Sorry. He is clear about the context of his apology, but then he won't say sorry. Not just him. This is many men. They won't say sorry to their girls, no matter what. They will make up and be trying to coax and "jhelo the roothna-manana" for hours but not say sorry. I don't know why. But let's leave. Its just that they are MEN. And this RK was atleast partly in character that he cannot actually say Sorry. But I guess this RK thinks he is too much of RK and less of his romantic self.  But wait, the romantic man comes out of him and he says "Please".  Nicely done scene. Hope Girls of my age would agree. I am not sure what are the ground rules between todays boys and girls or young men and women. Muhje to mere din yaad aa gaye!

Picture abhi baaki hai, Monday phir aayiega.

*************
Take 2

The Passion of the Artist and His Muse, His Inspiration

As I watched the episode, my 2nd time now in mute. I felt two things.
And none of it seemed forced or clunky.

Yes, true, I don't keep expectations. Learned through years of Television watching that we need to be dumb and not expect. But then now this is beyond dumbness.

I did write in my 1st review that RK needed to show his 100% participation. But the set he decorated for her was more than participation, it was like he created everything for her.

The Filmi Elements

By AreYaar

I think one of the things that made the most impact on me today was how they highlighted that wondrous quality of cinema...at it's very basic, it's supposed to transport you into another land...especially Hindi cinema is all about the larger than life sets, the flowers, the stars, the twinkling lights...the way they put in an old transistor playing an old black and white movie song...they brought this old world charm to it all...THAT atmosphere was beautifully created today to make the scene visually very appealing too along with all the good dialogue and direction.

In that sense, only this show has that luxury to use all these elements like this and get away with it cuz it FITS the story...the character background...in most other shows, it wouldn't work and would be out of place...but here they've got that entire basis...the grandiose film set, the eccentric movie star, the props, the dialogues...and today it all fit the story and scene very well.
Everyone in his daily life is a performer and an artist in some sense. Our creations may not be showcased, but we do create something daily. But what sets the artist that we know as artist...is his passion to consume himself to create something artistic. Ain't I right ?

The Background Music themes for Rishbala in today's episodes.

Hello everyone.. I am usually a silent reader on this thread, but have to ask a question today... I thoroughly enjoy reading all the analysis you guys do...so the question is..can anybody tell me the lyrics of the song we heard when Madhubala looks at RK and moon..that song sounds very familiar, but don't know what movie it is from..or what are the exact lyrics at the beginning..but remember something like..nainon me teri..comes in the middle..can someone please do the favor..thanks in advance!!

The background music played during the KC rituals in the studio over the Friday episode are many:
  1. Madhu's recent "I fell in love " BG score since the Main Pareshaan song
  2. the regular BG music between RK and Madhu
  3. the altered track from film song "saibo" Soundarya gave us the song in the thread and Charu already made the vm. The thread has the information somewhere after page 12
  4. Along with that they also play the improvised track of Aa Ja zara kareeb se ...to lead us into the dance scene in the episode.
