Episode 255 Discussion: 25th April 2013

Sultan offers friendship to Madhu,   RK notices Madhu giving her hand to Sultan,   Madhu reveals to Padmini - Its time to teach RK a lesson

Events of the Episode
  1. Continuing from yesterday, Sultan tells Madhu that he will always interfere in Madhu's matters should he feel that Madhu is not safe. Madhu asks why. But before Sultan answer her, Aryan interrupts them. He wants Madhu to stay with them. As Madhu has to leave, Aryan asks Kaka to pack food and he will have it while Madhu is dropped at home. Madhu gives apprehensive looks to Sultan as she doesn't want to be dropped home by them. Sultan says he can understand and therefore will stop far away from her house. Madhu agrees. Aryan starts his chatting in the car.
  2. As they reach Madhu's place, Sultan stops. They get out of the car and Sultan answers Madhu's question. He says as a friend he will always be concerned about her. Madhu does not say anything. When Madhu keeps quiet, Sultan asks her to share her problem with him. Madhu blurts out that she has lied to RK, her mother and herself. And next moment she realizes what she blurted out and asks him to forget.  Sultan says she can never lie to him to which Madhu answers him that she can never tell him the truth.
  3. Sultan follows her until RK Mansion's gate, (which so far Madhu has been avoiding to be seen with him) and he says she did not accept his friendship but as friend he would suggest that she should unload her heart to her mother. Sultan gives his hand for MAdhu to take his hand, whicg she accepts and Sultan holds her hand fo quite some time.
  4. This scene is being watched by RK in CCTv video footage in his room as him and Mangesh had been searching for Madhu in the house. When she is not found indoors, the outdoors coverage is turned on when he spots Madhu with Sultan. RK is seething with anger. He watches Sultan leave and Madhu turning away from the gate itself to go somewhere else in a different direction.
  5. Madhu reaches Chawl and meets up with Padmini and reveals to her that it her plan no to teach RK a lesson that he is not a God. Episode ends.

Episode Reviews
For me the episode was interesting.  And tomorrow's will be even more interesting...mixed with disappointment as well.

If this was a war between equals tomorrow we should have an interesting episode where RK will get a chance to show his RK'esque mind.

But this is a war of unequals. The CVs this time are determined to have RK lose everywhere with Madhu and her allies.  So RK's RKeasque will be defeated  by himself when he would get too eager to believe M or would want her to win him with her answers. Basically he would be ready to get sold, which we viewers will gulp it down with little difficulty. But I guess then we should look for RK antics and go for our LOLs.

Let me count how many ways he has lost with Madhu since revenge track and Sultan Entry Track
  1. Madhu wins the 3 day bet and continued to work at the Studio. Madhu gets back on her feet.
  2. Sultan has bit by bit made RK feel himself like a loser.  And on top of it, CVs give trendy wardrobe to Sultan, but give shirts to Superstar. CVs (Mukta Dhound) ask Sultan/AR to tone up his body, where RK/VD does not maintain his fitness (ofcourse he doesn't get time ...not to offend RK  and VD fans). Madhu can easily now lose fear of RK.
  3. RK has started looking a crazy person whereas Sultan looks such a gentleman ready to escort milady and his kid.  He is basically a good person. Madhu can now easily get out of love for RK and befriend Sultan
  4. And lastly RK has become gullible and over-confident of  Madhu's love and commitment for him. Madhu is all set to strike when iron is red hot Cool
What is still the saving grace for him ?  Somewhere his instincts are still sharp, which allow him not to go for shooting himself or anyone else.  Somewhere he realizes that he cannot deserve Madhu's love or her company or her commitment towards him.

Today's episode has four highlights.
  • Budding relationship between Madhu and Sultan ==> It gets a name of friendship from Sultan. (Time for Yellow Roses).
  • Madhu reveals to Padmini her true intentions of getting back to RK
  • RK almost getting cuckolded
  • RK had no moral lessons and teachings. The teacher was absent.

Budding relationship between Madhu and Sultan ==> It gets a name of friendship from Sultan. (Time for Yellow Roses).

But what was funny was the romantic BG score when Sultan was saying friendship. LOL!!  I really laughed out. Until that point I was getting quite uncomfortable.

Anyways, Madhu whose mother has taught early in life to differentiate between Right and Wrong, now gets a friend whose Occupation is to run Gangster business. Just yesterday we saw him cleaning his pistol. Obviously Gangster business is not wrong by Padmini and Madhu.  Its just a human condition and one should be compassionate to the reason, how one becomes a Gangster initially and ignore the fact that later on the gangster starts amassing fortune through continuing of Gangster business.

What were the most important dialogues between them?

Sultan = I will always interfere if anything wrong happens to you
Madhu = Kyon Sultan ?

Sultan = Tum Jhoot mujhse nahin bol saktiMadhu = Aur sach main tumhe bata nahin sakti

Now this really does not bode well for Madhu. Things may turn out to be at her advantage or disadvantage if Sultan keeps interfering her business.

Ex: Like today. Madhu wanted to meet him, maintain the anonymous relationship (like she says to RK, koi rishta nahin hai mera uske saath) and walk back to RK mansion as unnoticed as she was when left the premises. But Sultan followed her and made sure, she gave him lovey dovey looks and that (soft) hand that he held for quite sometime.[Blushing]  But poor Madhu, to her disadvantage the CCTv camera caught it. Saari Mehnat Bekaar gayee because of Sultan's unwanted interference.  [Angry] Now she has do that much extra "patana" of RK that she is all his and no one else's [Blushing]

In the same token, if he thinks, she can never lie to him and she tells him that she can never mention the truth to him, this too can be matter of advantage and disadvantage to her. For ex: an imaginary situation where RK "pit bhi sakta hai Sultan se" if Sultan sees Madhu expressive face that does not lie and may show pain and when she refuses to tell him the truth what she really means by that kind of painful face. Advantage, you see. lol.  But somedays, it may turn unpleasant also.[Shocking]

Madhu reveals to Padmini her true intentions of getting back to RK
This was not a surprise at all considering the volteface she took on Monday with that food and lovey-dovey talk.

What I did not like however is Madhu calling RK selfish. Now I am really racking my head, he avenged himself and that was the only selfish act he did with Madhu. So is revenge = selfish (as in Swaarthi) ?  Shouldn't swaarth be something when the person is made to choose between an advantageous and disadvantageous proposition for him ? Selfish people are not necessarily deceivers. They just always choose what's best for them. Now I never saw RK being given choices by Madhu where he picked up things benefitting only himself. Didn't he save her life when it was needed ? Okay leave that. Bad example...may be he should have let her get killed rather than be avenged or unwedded. But he did set up that wedding for her mother and father. And he did try to help Trishna. And he didn't have to order machines to have a quick recovery for Malik. And he didn't have the need to let Malik go scot-free. Oh! okay all this does not matter because he took revenge on her. Fine.  RK must be the most unfortunate man to have "one fine day" hit Mukund Dixit and because of whom he had this unnecessary revenge game started.  Sigh. !!! The conversation with her mother is not yet ended and it is to be continued tomorrow.

Padmini and Madhu's understanding of Right and Wrong is anyways beyond my comprehension. In their world, it is right to go and file a case inspite of just being the witness; against the wishes of the Victim's family to teach a Superstar that life had to be valued. In their world, even the Police registers the case just like that and they get condoned of charges like killing...Poor Nanavati could not get condonement when he himself surrendered and case went on for years. This is MBVerse and everything happens per MB and her Veer, Dheer, Balveer Mother.

RK almost getting cuckolded
When RK/VD was showing his mincing and gritting face with that remote in his hand, I laughed out. I thought, he should have been Dhritarashtra and he would have powdered or made a pulp of that remote in his hand RFOL

But seriously, the way he was sleeping on the couch, it was all signs of being the cuckold and adding another of his weakness to Madhu's list of RK weaknesses. :D  This is directly related to RK's male ego for what he saw on the security camera and it was caused by Madhu inadvertantly but it would be sure one plus point for Madhu to play with his feelings.

______________________________________
All in all the way Madhu is being promoted by CVs, she is sure going to win everything from RK with the help of Sultan, Dipali is just going to be relief for viewers or RK, but she would as usual not be trusted by RK this time and Madhu would get her way anyways;  but also sure would be pitfalls for her too. Revenge is never a good path. It has never left anyone happy.  If RK was hurt by his own revenge, even Madhu can be. Right ?

Eagerly waiting for Saturday episode to know what would be May month like.

Other Reviews

@Shri: liked your review though I am not sure if I count lying that way on couch as RK's weakness. I saw it more like Rk mourning for what could have been. In Bittooji's words -"Chief tedhe hai kyonki zindagi kabhi unke saath seedhi nahi rahi"

Madhu has got an uphill task getting RK to trust her unless his distrust is what she is shooting for. RK is naturally suspicious and cynical with razor sharp instinct and almost crazy accurate intution. Madhu thinks she knows him but does she really know him?

As for Madhu calling RK swarthi...I first dismissed it as fluke but since you caught it too...I assume Madhu means that RK is selfish in his relationships...he takes what he wants and gives what he wants without any consideration to what others might actually need from him. He decides he needs Madhu ...he gets her forcibly...he thinks she needs life before the unwedding... he tries turning back the clock. She has however outgrown her rosy dream...she needs an outlet for her grief and anger...a penance and a knowledge on his part that this is uncharted territory that needs rebuilding everything back from start . Maybe she just needs him out of her mind, heart and life.

She is subconciously comparing him to Sultan who seems more receptive to her needs and is less of an alpha male.

I am not sure what brand of revenge Madhu has picked or when she decided to execute her plan. Did she hang around the set all these days in hope of getting the in? When did she disconnect from RK & plan her current course and what led to it...I am curious? Was it bittoji's entreaty or was it the story ?

CVs have a twisted sense of justice ...RK won but he won a hollow victory with his revenge scheme...If Madhu wins will she too win a hollow victory?

I do agree with you on one thing MB and Paddy's version of justice, moral compass and sanskar are beyond my comprehension. I see them as either the most naive people on the face of earth or the biggest hypocrites. I had said this even when Paddy decided to walk out on Shamsher after RK forgave him for his murder attempts.

Responded by Myself
Pooja, you literally took lying down on couch as weakness ?? Duh!!! come on!! :))  No. I meant his dejection will be caught by her, because she is aiming for his feelings. right ? And cuckolded feeling is not the same as feeling jealous or feeling possessive or feeling insecure.  There is a lot of negativity there and the male ego is hit beyond the ability to share it even with your shrink.

She lied to him that she has no relationship with Sultan, that she would have taken the pistol and shot Sultan instead. And what was he seeing...behind his back, clandestine meeting right in front of the gates and that hand...  He keeps seeing all these things...it is fine until she was in chawl or studio...now she has returned to him, they spent a night together (ofcourse with their pillow-wall)...its a taint in mind.  But I am sure, as all males do for a while...to keep themselves out of grief, he would try to forget it and behave more cocky.  That's how cuckolded men bounce back.

@bold 1 - Me too have same thought in my mind.

@ Selfishness as comprehended by Madhu - I buy what you explain there.  That is actually true...the perception comes across like that, though Madhu doesn't know his withdrawals with others...because she is the one he is obsessed about.  So stepping into Madhu's shoes, that is absolutely correct.

@bold 2 - receptive to Sultan.  Not sure of her liking for males. She liked Mukund, she likes Sultan...both of them are not RK. And yet she chose to desire /dream RK. Hmmm!!

@bold 3 - It was RK's story about Hero, Heroine and Villain. She got irked that RK called himself a hero (which was his ego, which is now her enemy) and she saw that hero push down the Villain (which was Sultan). So her protective instincts for Sultan kickstarted her "teach him a lesson plan"...that you are not a hero, not my hero, whom I used to call you God.  Madhu NEVER cares for herself, she can take revenge also for OTHERS. So she is teaching a RK a lesson for Sultan's sake, to tell him that Sultan is not a villain and that RK is instead villain.  This way she will ensure that Sultan is protected.  Remember how she would take care of Mukund even when his mother used to ask her..."Tu kaun hai, Kya lagti hai hamaari, Kya rishta hai Mukund ke saath?" and still she was always taking care of Mukund even going behind his mother's back. LOL
Responded by Pooja
I got what you had meant Shri...I guess I worded it wrong. I was refering to same air of disappointment that RK has when Madhu returned back. I am not sure though that Madhu would know why he is dejected and will probably attribute it to his usual mood swings. She has already clocked in to his possesiveness and is planning to use it to her advantage.

Two things that might come up unexpectedly here-
how much does he know Madhu and how much does he trust her feelings for him? He knows she is angry with him...he also knows that there is this seemingly unbreakable bond between them...he has the power to do equal damage to her back if he pretends nonchalance over all this and extreme trust.

I sensed him being more evasive than cocky. He opened the door of closet almost as if to hide his expression from her. He needed to do something to hide what he was feeling...dejection mixed with anger. He is still thinking what all this means and what he wants to do. Does he want to hold onto her or not.? Does he punish her or not?

I am surprised that Madhu felt the need to take up Sultan's case in a metaphorical story but then it is madhu we are talking about.

The other part to this entire taking revenge bit is - what is it going to look like in reality?
My initial reaction after watching the scene with Padmini was - its going to be the same type as RK's revenge, but now I'm not so sure. Sounds too convenient.  It might be a Madhu-style revenge - whatever that is.   Depending on how she implements her plan, we can still mourn the loss of innocence, yet probably be ok with it.

I completely agree River...As I have harped before...the whole track hinges on the fact which lesson is Madhu planning to impart and how? Will RK chooses to learn or not will depend on how he views her apparent betrayal. Based on today's episode Madhu plans to teach him that he is not God and he does not control everyone around him ...He already knows that...he exerts that force because others allow him to do so including Madhu.

Regardless of how we put it ...teaching lesson, revenge, tough love, punishment, tit for tat...it is Madhu assuaging her pride and purging her anger so the question is what will it take for her to be appeased-a contrite RK, a reformed RK, a humiliated RK, a broken RK or a humble RK.

Responded by Myself
If RK agrees that he is a Villain and not a Hero. And if he assures her he will not do anything to Sultan.  Madhu is really very worried about Sultan's safety and that's why she said  to Sultan "Aur sach main tumhe bata nahin sakti"
How can she tell Sultan that the man she loves is going to kill him...because Sultan may kill RK too.  And so with this revenge plan, Madhu thinks she is stopping the bloody feud between the two men. RFOL

in our world = YES
in MB world  = Whatever MB decides.

She decided only two things
  • Villain is RK's EGO.. Villain is NOT Sultan
  • Hero is RK with HEART - WHO HAS NOT MADE ENTRY YET.
  • Heroine is Madhu

This should not be the case...protecting sultan is more important than avenging her own hurt ...No I don't think so, I think she actually got irritated when he told, whether I love you or not, you luv me statement...

For me her fighting on other's behalf in opposition to every convention of the world and especially RK is really what she cares for.
She has consistently shown how she can self-immolate (metaphorically) if that means she gets to save people whom she chose to be worth fighting for.
  1. There was Mukund Dikshit
  2. Then there was Shamsher Malik
  3. Then there was Rishabh Kundra with Insecurities
  4. Then there was Aryan (against Sultan.)
  5. Then there is Sultan now  (against Chawlwale and now RK)

As Rakshas (RK) already badnaam and abusive person who don't know how to respect women n relations... Madhu n Mailik's already hate him to CORE.

Padmini is okey with Madhu 'Teach RK a lesson' mission. She also knows Sultan very well (really ?) and admire him (for what I still don't know). Like daughter like mother...whatever Sultan is...its because of circumstances and also 'issme Aryan ki koi galti nahi hai'.

There is no need for Sultan to go to jail (I don't know if Madhu n Padmini considers him as a criminal..). This guys keeps guns with him..showcase it to Madhu n Padmini many times..And Madhu seen him killing his enemies n in chawal whole chawl sees how n enemies fight with guns)...But there is BIG reason for his mis-deeds to let go...Issme Aryan ki koi galti nahi hain.

Paddo already knows Madhu meets Sultan n Aryan (No objection at all). The point is...knowing these mother-daughter, suppose one fine day Sultan goes to Padmini and ask her Madhu's hand (i mean expresses wish to get married to Madhu)...Padmini will act very calm n then she will ask Madhu her wish, also convince her how Sultan is perfect for her and then Madhu will node yes (as in Mukund N RK's case only after Padmini's push she went further).

I don't think Padmini or Madhu ever give a though about Sultan's business n his occupation. Even they will not consider him as a criminal underworld DON...Instead they will compare him with RK and come to conclusion that Sultan is much much better than RK n very much gentlemen and perfect match for Madhu.

Responded by Myself
I said this long time back that Padmini will have no second thoughts asking Madhu to get married to Sultan.  I am not joking.  I am serious.

CVs have cleverly positioned/brought the story to where it was in July.

See in Mukund track, also RK was villain and Mukund was the reason why Madhu was against RK.

Now in Sultan track also RK is Villain and Sultan is the reason why Madhu is against RK.

The PH is doing what it previously wanted to execute through this angle.  Probably the heroine track will come up now as RK sees how Madhu is capable of acting, wearing gowns, etc  etc.

Sorry I have speculated based on the underlying logic and plots that are visible in current presentation.

Now in real sense Nautanki Films and Sourabh Tewari will be going through Test of Success ...with viewers.  This is their second chance, second innings.  Previously they were stopped in execution.  Now will they succeed ?

Because...seriously in July - August...if Madhu had not married RK, and she was falling in love with Mukund, I was thinking RK and Madhu will have  affair like "Film Industry mein Hota Hai"...and that's how the heroine track also will start.   Otherwise I had no idea, how RK was going to pull Madhu to become an actress.

So this is really the story to see for me now,

Sorry guys...I am really not a Rishbala Fan. And I always was like this is a stop gap arrangement from the main story.  For me RK and Madhu as Hero-Heroine in Movie were going to be the Couple.  So ...that's why I have this detachment from them.

I know last time I tried to predict  starting of Heroine Track for Madhu end of February and March. I was stumped through revenge track of unwedding.  But then if I see it...like I was saying to my friends previously, story is essentially going back to JULY period...these days it is really looking to me like that July...difference being Mukund is now replaced by Sultan.

I think like the way Madhu sends Superstar to jail in July, Madhu will cause something like that to RK the Superstar here...and story will start off again.

RK was deadly when he came back from Jail.  Wish the PH had never sidetracked. We would have known, how Madhu gets pulled by Superstar to become actor.

Madhu will teach RK that

MY HEART = YOUR HEART
My Broken Heart = Your Broken Heart and not your Bruised Ego like you think.

Then RK will realize his Revenge is not completed yet and he will say, okay then I need to go your striking your ego and I should also teach you a lesson.

The Phase III story will Ego clash
My Ego = Your Ego
My Bruised Ego = Your Bruised Ego

I usually love their spats - but what you've described sounds ugly.
That would be a bitter pill to swallow. Won't they ever learn? Will this be how the whole show will run at least till the last few months when they might start the heroine track ( if they)?

What do you think Madhu is doing now after yesterday's episode? Is it revenge or teaching a lesson? From what I saw yesterday, it is full on revenge and not a lesson ... and that too to save whom? Sultan!

Teaching a lesson is something positive as in she would have been trying to improve something in RK. Revenge means destruction. Has Madhu changed so much suddenly that she doesn't give a damn to what happens to RK? She very well knows the pain of heartbreak and is planning to inflict the same on RK. She doesn't have any doubts, there was pure determination on her face yesterday while talking to Padmini.

For a person preaching 'forget the past and learn to forgive', she doesn't seem to be practicing what she preached. If her concern was Sultan, she could have very well neutralized the threat by being truly with RK and coaxing him as she did many times before the unwedding. RK would surely have done as per her wishes if her 'giving a second chance to their marriage' effort was true and genuine.

Ennishet,

I had read your post and was trying to answer you when I saw IMM's post on Page 11 of this EDT.  It became easy then.  I am quoting entire portion so that our mutual context towards the matter is easily tracked.

I believe, there is no moral of the story at this point for anyone.  Its more of a logical or adaptive transition of viewer mindset from current expectations to July Period of the story for writers.

Here I have responded.

And also added the same into Media Article Thread on Page 119 with more thoughts.

To me there is no point us discussing the moral propriety of revenge.  CVs needed to establish the show, make Madhu and RK's obsession for each other acceptable and with reason and that done...are going to wherever the show was supposed to go,

In the end, Madhu copies RK and RK moulds her like he wants...and we have their signature pose on the stage.

This morning I get no other idea as clear as this.

I am resting here.

Cheers.

What's gone? The pink blush of infatuation, the red of crazy passion, the rainbow colours of first love, the blue serenity of knowing there's a mate who you can trust with your life.Destroyed by RK. Why not just leave the girl alone? I forgot, you can't because she may then "belong" to someone else!

What's left? Ugly, dirty colours - the sickly green colour of jealousy, the pallid yellow of a secret "friendship", the nauseating steel grey of a plan to hit at the ego at the cost of one's heart. Introduced by Madhu. Why not just walk away? Of course, you can't - you've chosen to hover in his orbit although he dumped you.

The flaw in Madhu's plan is that no matter how evil, how egoistic, how whatever <insert your favourite adjective for RK> he is, she loves him.

I don't see how she will execute his downfall without hurting herself more. If she thinks she can do it without hurting herself, then, she doesn't love him.

.It's just sad, to see a grand passion destroyed first by an unwedding, and now by a reverse revenge. Could it have been done differently? Heck, yeah! But this is the way the CVs have chosen to do it, and we have to watch it. It's their story, and our lot is just to watch, and vent occasionally, as we do here.

File it among yet another senseless review, Shri. I'll read the thread to find more sensible views, which hopefully, will lift my spirits.

Responded by Myself
LOL.
Did not watch the episode yet.  Right now I am doing the watchman-giri for MAS.  As you know we are still being stalked and reported and so have to take care for admin and Ops matter...be vigilant for a while.

@bold.  Thanks for remembering me. Feels nice to hear when someone calls you by a name that is expressive of affection.  Very much.

And in response, I have to say that, I have not yet watched the episode.  But your write-up there is beautiful to read.  Its not senseless.  Its witty and normalizing.  It is what it is and we got that hint on Monday.  And we need to take it in light hearted manner.  After all what are you expecting from follies ? More follies. Aint't it ?  Let follies go through law of diminishing returns in the name of ideas, continuity and entertainment and actually helping the story line, then sense will be back in demand.  Its all economics of the situation. Its the same economics even for M and RK.  They try to negotiate for what they want and that's where they are willing to go on where angels fear to tread.

While CVs are churning out storylines that are not good for your style of viewing or reviewing, but if you have not found an alternative to your regular pastime, how about you challenging yourself to find entertainment within the same. Ofcourse, this thread is for sure one entertainment place sometimes. :)
