Shamsher professes his love for Padmini and Hauslon Se Veer Hoon Modified :)
Episode 161 Discussion: 4th Jan 2013
- Padmini thinks over her past 20 years with Shamsher around her. She is disgusted of that red saree that reminds her of Balraj and his barbarity.
- Shamsher professes his love for Padmini, something that he realized just over the last two days at the prompting of his children, but now understands that he had been loving her for the last 20 years and can't think of being separated from her and their kids. They are his life.
- Padmini cherishingly eats the food cooked by Shamsher. Seems she is ready. Alas Shamsher is not to be seen around the next morning when she goes to thank him for the food prepared by him. Padmini runs madly over the Mumbai streets when she finds a letter informing her that Shamsher has left them for good.
- RK makes Madhu chant her Hauslon se veer hoon mantra. But changes Apne maa ke sahaare to Apne RK ke sahaare, He too chants along with her and calling himself as Yoohin Balbeer hoon. Earlier, Padmini at the beginning of the episode too had chanted the mantra with Ishwar ke sahaare yoohin Balbeer hoon. In the precap, Balraj comes to the chawl and sees Padmini and Madhu. So sirening here that Balraj is set against a gearing up party of his foes (his wife, daughter and their beaus).
Respites first.
Again the contrived clunk. Padmini calls her SAGI DAUGHTER first that Malik is gone and not her elder, unmarried and living with her STEP DAUGHTER !!!! Gross partiality or SO OBVIOUSLY contrived clunk by CVs to have Balraj see Madhu along with Padmini.
The way Padmini ran in that jet speed manner, again the insensitive me was hilariously laughing. Tomorrow its going to be fun.
Zorica,You got it. Though Shamsher did not offer any marriage to Padmini, he did speak about his love for her. Well she was not even ready to hear him... but she did hear him.
Review
Hearing Shamsher's feelings, when he said..."main bahta hi chala gaya..." I was remembering this song which I head in various dance shows and on radio...Behne de mujhe behne de. I searched on YouTube. Found that it is from Raavan.
Undoubtedly the episode had to be watched for Shamsher professing his love for Padmini. And the song I earlier was mentioning does express Shamsher's pent up feelings for Padmini. Him saying...yes, really what is the relationship between us? was really honorable of him. Because as a man he needed to tell that to the woman whom he loved. If it was hidden, there was no need to tell. But as it had come out in the open, there was no point not saying it. If he had not it would have been something to be ashamed of between the two. I loved the contrast...Padmini reminiscing her life with Shamsher, her throwing away her red saree in disgust, remembering the barbarity of Balraj...and her mixed tears of pleasure and pain with recalled memories against Shamsher's serene and proud face. That was such a beautiful sight to see. If only Padmini had been seeing the face, how the man who loved her felt so proud to be in love with her and lived his life happily without thinking of anything else...so lost in her and her children's happiness. She would have been in seventh heaven! She actually was. Which woman would not feel like to be loved, cared and treated as everything. Such a contrast from the man she had to wed !!!! Such a vast difference. How would she resist this love? Doesn't that tempt her ? Well I don't know if she will ever get tempted by Shamsher's selflessness and his love for her, but certainly her respectful regard for him won over her and she was so lovingly appreciating the food he brought for her.
Now...the clunk...
Why would the proud man, who was beaming with such a smile and professing his love...leave his woman in distress like that? That "Ghor chod ke jaana drama" was totally CLUNK. Because Shamsher's face was showing the promise that he would be able to woo his woman in due time. But alas CVs and their dramas. That leaving and Padmini running on roads on Mumbai Mahanagar...is just distasteful. If Shamsher's face was serious and matter of fact mannered and if he had not cooked food for Padmini, then his leaving would have made sense to me. So clunk plot for clunk drama.
The very private and precious moment between Padmini and Shamsher.
To me...as I watched it, I felt that it was Padmini the hunted woman delivering an unwanted baby girl for her husband...being supported by a stranger, a man, who did look handsome in that hospital...him signing as the baby's father. Its really an odd place to be in for Padmini, but if she chose to forget everything in the name of formality and protocol, she had everything in that moment. A woman after giving birth to a baby when she becomes a mother, she altogether becomes a different person. She is the happiest in her new providing state to the baby and yet when she sees a man standing besides her, I guess she might naturally feel proud about it.
Disclaimer...I am not a mother. So i might not be accurate there. No offence meant to mothers here. You are welcome to correct me in my understanding of that scene. Just that my womanly instincts made me feel so.
Now the other thing I liked today...the three variations of the Hauslon se Veer hoon chanting
Padmini chants for herself
Hauslon se veer hoon
Sankaton mein Dheer hoon
Dushmano ki Bheer hoon
Apne Ishwar ke sahaare, Bas Yoohin Balbeer hoon
RK made Madhu chant
Hauslon se veer hoon
Sankaton mein Dheer hoon
Dushmano ki Bheer hoon
Apne RK ke sahaare, Bas Yoohin Balbeer hoon
RK chanted for himself
Hauslon se veer hoon
Sankaton mein Dheer hoon
Dushmano ka Bheer hoon
Bas Yoohin Balbeer hoon
The way I see it is ...all three set againt Balraj...the Dushman
Padmini by invoking her Ishwar, is going to get Shamsher as her defender.
And RK by making Madhu chant him as her sahara, he became her defender
And he personally has set himself against Balraj. He is not seeking anyone's support.
So RK will beat Balraj at his own game.
The episode started with Padmini chanting it, then RK making Madhu chant and him getting included in their inner circle...And in precap scene Balraj makes an entry...with that looking at the chawl gate and seeing Padmini, followed by Madhu. Structurally it was a smooth foreboding of coming events. The women are sure going to be petrified. But only they have to fight now, they will have to be joined by their men as well...because Balraj is that formidable and once again Padmini set the ball rolling with collecting supporters to her side. She will once again have Shamsher and this time her married daughter will have her husband to take care of her. The drama just became more interesting.
Though the chanting of the prayer by Madhu and RK upon RK's prodding was more in line of RK's Pain relieving Technique employed by him to boost his Biwi's morale as was felt by both him and his mother per the Reconciliation and Fixing before Leaving track. The scene ends with the couple shown as very much in love with Madhu saying "RK I love you" to which RK responds "Me Too. I Love Me" Its cute the way RK in the same moment shows of his attitude to his Biwi and also professing that he is no different from what his wife thinks.

Now few asides
Shamsher = Bhupinder Singh = Dharmender Paaji. Gosh!! Can Bhupinder reduce his Dharam paaji teepna ?

By Priya over RK and Radhaji Scene
However, I liked the fact that RK has actually warmed up to Radha with no influence from Madhu. He went on to surprise Radha who called out his name and then held back thinking that he would not listen to her only to ask her what was she going to say and on top of that acknowledge her request to take care of distressed Madhu by gently nodding his head. I loved his smirk/grin that followed after Radha leaving their room, which basically meant that he knows exactly how to handle Madhu and put her at ease.

I liked the episode, in fact all the epis thi week. Smooth flow, good acting, no jarring stuff (mostly).
I like how comfortable our superstar and his biwi are - ribbing each other, occasional tiffs, but always, always there is love. This is how it should be, hai na? Whenever that separation happens its going to be terribly wrenching for us, and for them. They are so settled in their life now.
Padmini-Shamsher: grounded couple, she's taking more time than him to come around. Not surprising, mconsidering she's got an abusive marriage behind her. She's happy with the status quo. She'll come around soon enough.
The scene of the day today for me was Shamsher's love confession for Padmini. It was straightforward, no-nonsense, real- just like him.
As for Ballu's realization in the precap - bring it on!

Precap!

Sorry, but I needed to comment on this way!

A nice and honest episode.
The dilemma of Padmini was captured beautifully. She wished to snub the voices of her loved ones telling her that her relationship with Malik is beyond what they acknowledge… she might have succeed for a moment. What she couldn't help was the warmth that engulfed her when she allowed herself a walk down memory. The knowledge of probably sharing something so divine with Malik, a relationship that sheltered and nourished their children was enough to repulse the memory of Ballu. The sari cropped up between her memories of her happy family and she threw it as if it didn't belong with them. The way she threw the sari, a sari that symbolised her commitment to another man… you could see she was finally liberated. She continued to gaze at a piece of paper that started off the most important relationship when Malik walked in, calm and composed just the way she knew him. His silent strength has always been her greatest support system and today was going to be no different… she was about to make another important decision in her life… it was going to be Malik who made the final break through as it should have been. It had to be her love for him and no other pressure that would have made her accept Malik as a companion.
What followed was a beautiful scene… a scene which was as natural as it could get and as sincere as emotions they truly felt for eachother. Padmini got worked up the moment she saw Malik had injured himself only to restrain herself when she realised she couldn't justify her concern. Malik's confession was so wonderful… hats off to the creative who wrote the scene… to begin with it suited their age, it took into consideration their 20 years of togetherness… it was beautiful… simple, heartfelt and honest. He began by saying how he didn't bother about anything when Padmini and the kids chanced upon him and slowly became his reason to live. He was content to go with the flow… because life had never been beautiful, never was worth a thought before they came into his life. He was coaxed to think of this relationship after so many years (Thank you, RK!) and has now found an answer. I loved the way he worded his emotions 'yeh rista vishwas, samaan ka hai, aur meri taraf se pyar ka hai'. The word 'pyar' can out as an equal to words 'vishwas' and 'samaan' which they have all along acknowledged, it came out with the same dignity the latter two deserved. I have always loved Malik as a father, but today I love him for the person he is. From the time he has been confronted of his love for Padmini he has never denied or demeaned it… he has been exceptionally dignified. And today even as he confessed, as clear as he was about his emotions for Padmini he also made it clear that these emotions are his, only his. Not once during the confession, he asked her to reciprocate… his only agenda was to retain the honesty in their relationship, she deserved to hear the truth because it concerned her. His only wish was he didn't want to be left alone, without her, without the kids. At the end he made sure she understood that her happiness was all that mattered to him and he will pray for that.
RK would be immensely impressed with his sasurji talking his advise seriously…I can so imagine him seeting maroing for his fave lovestory and his real life superstars.
If Malik's confession was beautiful… I have no words to describe the scene that followed. Padmini's walk to the food was her realisation, her acknowledgement of her love for Malik. The walk was marked with slight hesitancy in her steps but she was drawn towards as if it was her ultimate destination. There was so much of tenderness when she picked up the burnt, hard roti because Malik has prepared it. She took a bite and cherished it… there was a sense of urgency to take the second bite aswell.. it was almost like the 20 years gone by was too much time lost. The privacy in the moment was what enhanced the scene so much more. Padmini was given that space to enjoy the feeling of being loved as a woman. It was a moment so rare for her… experiencing your love and the love of you man for the 1st time… there was happiness and relief that only a heart who has finally got home will feel. Again the beauty of the scene was its simplicity… it didn't have to have loud dialogues, confrontation or the camera going crazy to mark it as a momentous event… It concentrated on Padmini-Malik and their heartfelt emotions. Pallavi took the scene to a completely different level.
RK-Madhu scene was adorable. Another moment when RK scored a brownie… can Madhu please have some??? It was such a wonderful way to wake Madhu up when she is feeling down and low. He held her hand to remind her of her inner strength that helped her see his devilish avtar through. It is moments like that you realise why 'junoon' is a part of the title… He wanted to tell her he is always by her side… but he chose to reword her prayer with him being an integral part of it. Typical! A nice cosy scene… what I liked it Madhu snuggled back into the bed… she didn't get into her patnidarm duties running off to get his tea/coffee/juice! And RK finished with a flourish in reply to her 'I love you…', 'Me too…I love me'! There is never a dull moment with him around.
Padmini was back home I suppose because she walked in with empty plates… obviously she would get home and cook. Can someone please present Malik with a cupboard… the man has been living out of a suitcase and an ancient one at that! And what on earth was that letter… after that wonderful confession… Malik chose to leave? Doesn't make sense at all. It better be a prank by RK/Roma/Trishna… anyone, not Malik. Even if it is Malik's I think he might have written after he returned from jail for having attacked RK and Padmini was upset with him. He cant probably write that now. As expected Padmini was hysterical…. Lets see what happens trow.
Trow doesn't sound very good with Ballu getting to know about Padmini and Madhu.

Wow!
So, Malik heeds to his damad's advice and decides to open up his heart to Padmini. Another win for RK.

I loved Maliks confession. It was really an honest and heartfelt confession. What disappointed me was his disappearance act after confessing his feelings. My thoughts might not be in agreement to most of you here. But, I have never been a supporter of this theory called-'Confess your love, run away and let the other person ponder over it'. It torments the person left behind. They are let dumbfounded as to what to do with all these emotions. It does not matter whether they reciprocate the feelings or not. But, it is unfair to vent out your emotions and do a disappearing act on your loved one.
There were discussions on yesterday's ED thread, that Malik is embarrassed of his feelings and hence might choose to leave everything behind. But he confessed his feelings with pure honesty with no trace of embarrassment. Then why disappear?
May be as the discussion progresses on this thread, I will come to terms with Maliks decision.
I loved Padmini's realization and the way she was reminiscing those 20 years, while savoring the food prepared by Malik.
RK-Madhu scene was good. So now MAA in Madhu's prayer has been replaced by RK. Interesting!! Yeh to hona hi tha. Ab to Madhu ki puri zindagi me RK hi RK hai, to ek prayer kya cheez hai!! So its first time after the confession night that, Madhu says 'I love you RK' and RK replies with 'me too'.(I love me) I was happy(I would say more of relieved), when RK did not say 'I love you' to Madhu. It would have been very very unRKish saying 'I love you' randomly early in the morning. Good that he is still retaining his cheek.
I am not sure if any of you felt the same, but some how today in the RK-Radha scene, for the first time I felt that may be Radha genuinely cares for Madhu and hence asks RK to take of her. And, I sensed that deep down RK was immensely pleased with the concern his mother is showing for his wife.
Precap: Looks like Bittuji has also sent his brain on vacation. What provokes him to bring his psychopath business partner to the heroines home? I am sure RK will be furious if he comes to know of this. And this time looks like Ballu has spotted Padmini and Madhu, though he will not recognize the later as his daughter. So, lets gear up for the action now!!!

Sasur ne daamaad ki guzarish accept kiya and pahunche Padmini ke paas apne pyar ka izhaar lekar:)
Baap-Beti follow the same funda to confess their feelings-"Insan ke dil tak ka raasta uske pet se guzarta hai"
Malik's confession was too good. Fabulous dialogues were given to him and he delivered them with the right emotion. The emphasis on "Aap aur bache" gave the right punch and power to his confession.
Padmini was brilliant today in the first half of the episode. First, when she threw away the "red saree" in disgust when she was having heart-warming thoughts about Malik n her kids. Wasn't that the same saree she had taken it out on her KC?
Her sudden outburst of concern at seeing Malik injured and then trying to get a grip on her emotions and she turning away from him.
Lastly, when she was eating the Malik ke haath ka khana.
Today, seeing this entire scene, I just got reminded of the scene the day Madhu comes to her maayka for 2 days and she had told Madhu that "RK teri bohut parwah karta hai...Ek ladki ke liye isse badhkar aur kya chahiye hota hai ki uska pati shows concern..." Pads today would have felt the love and care by Malik not for the mother of their children but for the woman inside her ,who craves to be loved by a man.
RK-madhu scene was as usual nice and neatly done:) RK instills back the confidence in her and tells her to gear up for good times. Is this Malik absconding one of RK's idea?
Pads running around the streets of Mumbai was truly not my taste followed by calling Madhu from the PCO.. Chalo thoda bohut they have to go the soapy way...
Precap: Ballu seeing Pads and Mads...
After seeing the precap, I again remembered RK's words to his Biwi.
RK: Biwi, ab tak jo bhi drama hua, use bhool jao---- I was like, ya biwi, aaj ek naye drama ki shuruat hone wali hai.
RK: Aaj ka din sab kuch badlega--- I was like, haan Madhu aaj se toh sab ki solidly lagne wali hai..
RK:Sab kuch achcha hoga---- Kiske liye? Kahin Ballu ke liye toh nahi..

He takes courage in his hands and talks to Padmini about his feelings, his life before and after he met her and the girls. I wish she had the courage to turn around to see the emotions on his face during his confession. Indeed he is a strong man who did not resort to any theatrics but put it very plainly to her. His dialogues were felt from the heart, not filmy at all. In his own way he told her apne dil ki baat and left it up to her to do what she thinks and feels the best. Either way he is and remains their well wisher.
Aonther cute scene between Madhu and RK -
Loved the prarthana today and change in the line where "Apni Ma ke sahare" is now replaced by "Apne RK ke sahare". Does that mean RK has now replaced that position in Madhu's life and that is what RK is trying to tell her that she can trust him completely? A couple of times he said in between these past 2 episodes ki aaj ka din bohot acchha jayega. Lekin kis ke liye?

@bold
Me too. I too felt the same
Priya,
Loved your review...precap excluded.
And thanks for raising the point...the viewers need to be advised about the legal standpoints of Padmini's previous marriage and why it can be considered defunct now...before Balraj makes an entry to raise the question. I want the characters involved prepared in advance for their marriage with all baggages dropped and not be shown on national TV as if they were dumbos not to resolve this thing without Superstar RK's enlightenment. I don't want the Maliks and Chaudhry's to be shown as not caring to be knowing enough...
Zorica,
Your pictorial commentary over the precap... RFOL!!!
Tanu,
OMG!!! You felt the same. Agreed on everything and especially the last one. Shamsher the man who professed that love for Padmini could never be the one who bunks now. NOoo!!!
Loved your review. We agree on the Man, the Woman and the private moments between the two...though I chose to make another moment reminisced by Padmini as the most private moment. May be I should rephrase my post, by changing private to divine moment and confess love to profess love...will do after I am done with reading all the posts.
Ananya,
You too felt the same...that Shammu darling couldn't have bunked. Chalo...then that's pure clunk from CV's. Loved your review too. Agree on everything...inclusive of Rads and Rishu darling scene.
Zoya,
Your opening statements were simply LOL!!!
Your closing statements were RFOL!!!
Beautiful.
And the body of post...I agree. Now I am quite bored to write...that I am loving everyone's posts. So we all felt the same. scratching my head here...Did Malik actually leave ? Is it a prank or Clunk ? God!!! they won't get viewer rating if they show clunk like that. Almost everyone agrees here, the man could not have left after professing his love.
