Episode 252 Discussion: 22nd April 2013

CVs to Viewers: Triangle hai Per Villain ke saat Nahin. Yeh Triangle hai Ahankaar, Dil aur R-M(Rishabh aur Madhu) ke beech-Suniye Madhu ki zubaani

Events of the Episode
  1. RK asks Padmini to give Sultan's telephone number. Padmini is silent, then RK grabs Padmini's mobile and calls Sultan. He asks Sultan where is Madhu. RK gets a nice lecture from Sultan that it doesn't become of him to not know of his wife's wherabouts and on top of it call him to find out if she is with him. Sultan also does rubbing salt on RK's wounds by explaining that Madhu is intelligent and straight girl and that if Madhu had been his wife, he would have bestowed all happiness on her. [if Madhu had been his wife - isn't it insinuating and instigating enough to drive RK mad ? Which sane person will ignore this hint of liking] RK leaves.
  2. Sultan calls Padmini on landline. He asks her where is Madhu and if she is doing well. Padmini informs him that Madhu is doing fine and she is staying at her friend's house, that Trishna has showed her Madhu's message.
  3. RK reaches RK mansion frantically, talking to Bittuji to call Police Commissioner and inform him that Madhu is missing, when suddenly he sees a sleeping Madhu on the couch. The table in front is laden with all food. The sleeping Madhu calms him beyond his annoyance and suprise at seeing her sleeping here peacefully when for last so many hours from noon-time, he had been searching for everywhere. The song Hum Tere Bin is being played in BG.
  4. RK comes out of his reverie and throws his mobile near her to wake her up. Madhu wakes up, sees him and immediately she starts prattling all innocently, all in love with RK. She asks him to sit and have food, She tells him what all she cooked...Jali hui Gobee ki sabji, Kheer etc. RK asks her to stop, gives suspicious looks and asks her, where has she been when he's been searching for her all the over the place after she went missing from Studio. He also reminds her that she even forgot her cell phone on the set.
  5. Madhu starts to explain that she left the studio soon after he finished his Hero-Heroine story. She came home to cook for him. She tells him that she realized the gravity of third man Sultan entering their loves and pointing his gun like that. Given the choice, in the event of the Villain shooting him off, she would have brought him back to life like she did once before, and that also unlike him, she would have taken the pistol and shot down the Villain and then ended herself too.
  6. Madhu also tells RK, that she had a change of heart so drastically because through his Filmy story, he has told what she cares about...that his heart instead of lubb-Dubb does Madhu Madhu Madhu...After the revenge, she had tried to hate him so much, but she was unable to and now his confession gives her hope and she will claim him all for herself, he is her twisted man, all hers...that she will also fight him for his complicated heart. Madhu impresses on him that indeed does have a heart which he has to learn to trust, as otherwisem the story or RK, Madhu and RM (Rishabh aur Madhu) will remain incomplete.
  7. Madhu also says that she was indeed broken by his revenge. But now she is happy that RK's baggage of taking revenge on her is finished off and now his heart will have free place to home his love for her. She tells him that sometimes, people end up loving those whom they want to hate and hers and RK's case is like that. Madhu gifts him the musical man and wife present. In all of this Rishabh Kundra is looking at Madhu, as if he doesn't get it what she is saying. Everything looks incredulous to him...her change of antagonistic behaviour to friendly behaviour leaves him all suspicious. Episode ends.

Saturday I said ; Madhu kab apna lesson RK ko degi ?Question

So what happened today ?
Sultan taught RK another lesson as to how to be a good husband and Madhu taught the lesson about  what is heart.

Honest !! I was so bored.  I am not this romantic...and I start laughing at the sugar sweet talk.

Anyways, I am wondering, if RK the Dumbo Student in Heart Studies; he understood anything.

But more than anything, Madhu's entire talk is rattling and nettling me. She tells 7 hours before to Trishna, that she has not forgiven RK and that she has to trust her...(trust I get it as she is going against her mom in going back to RK) and now she is doing a sweet talk without any anger at all ? No exasperation at all ?

And from where did Trishna get the SMS from Madhu that she she shewed to Padmini ? Wasn't Madhu's phone left somewhere ?

And yes, as Angeena felt, I am just rattled that RK did not tell Bitttuji that his Bhabhiji is FOUND and he need not call the Commissioner.

Seems I am far more Shakki than RK. So I must be REALLY a DARK person LOL

I want to Break Free. Of what? MEIEJ. This happened today for me.

There are lot of immaturities present in this track for me. More than Immaturity of the Track, it is Immaturity of Character and Viewers involved that dramatist wants to throw us in and bank upon it. Once a heart is bruised, it does not go back to being what it always was.  Madhu's actions look like she has accepted the man unconditionally again, with an open war to his face that she will fight him for them, as RK is his own enemy in the triangular love story.

On the surface of it if Madhu is back to being Madhu with unconditional love for Rishabh Kundra, then question is how can it be possible to live without even a little bit of change because of the scar left behind by the bruise. What is that manifestation of the scar in Madhu ? - To know this keep watching MEIEJ regularly Monday thru Saturday at 8:30 PM India Time.

If beneath the surface, Madhu is a new Madhu and teaching RK a lesson, then I truly appreciate it as its atleast a character growth to me. However, why like a thriller or horror movie, I am being fed with a Madhu that leaves GAPING HOLES in her story to Rishabh Kundra and Viewers so that we have SUSPICION spelled out in biggest Font Size available.
  1. Why would she tell RK that she came to be with RK permanently and yet has not declared anything to her mother, when RK clearly asked her to talk to her mother that she is coming back to him (with the Villain story and leaving her instructions).  This should be RK's moot point for Suspicion spelled out for him.
  2. If RK is not suspicious, I as a VIEWER, am being told by Madhu that she is talking so smoothly to RK about being back to him for all love, when she herself explicitly stated to Trishna that, she should not tell their mother anything.  So how long does Madhu intend to play with her mother's emotions to teach Rishabh Kundra a lesson.
  3. As a factual statement from a viewer perspective, Madhu is crazy to give that kind of lesson to RK. I cannot buy it and see it all with bloopers. How is the cynical RK ever going to believe her story  and start taking her lessons?
  4. As an imaginative statement from Rishabh Kundra perspective, Madhu is crazy to give that kind of volte-face to him. He cannot buy it and only see it all with bloopers. Instead of love that she is trying to teach him, he will wonder why she is not resisting him for all the bad he did.  After all he never expected her to save his life and she did save him...and now not expecting her to give in so easily and she is surrendering to him.  What is the motive here, he will wonder. What's new here ?
  5. And me. Why can't Madhu be normal to have the story ended permanently. Atleast she herself and RK call RK a twisted person and a Right Kameena and her craziness in delivering unbelievable actions leaves no choice for the viewer in me to crave for normalcy and since I see it always see track starting from Madhu, I keep looking for an end from there. I am tired about the Volte-face. We are seeing a growing RK, but Madhu's character growth is still a mystery and shrouded. If indeed it is growing Madhu using her Love-ideology but through deceptive means to teach RK to grow heart, then it will only HURT ME TWICE as much as before when she cries, sheds tear for being suspected or taking the brunt and in anger, I am going to blame her for being this kind of volte-face to everyone around her, that people have hard time believing or trusting her actions...and she ends up hoarsely crying...Main Paagal hoon to hoon...for saving Aryan and Sultan -The Gangster...which again be like throwing crap on my face.

What did I title the EOD Summary of Saturday ?

CVs to Viewers: Triangle hai Per Villain ke saat Nahin. Yeh Triangle hai Ahankaar, Dil aur Muhabbat ke beech-Suniye RK ki zubaani

What has been fed to us today ?

Triangle hai Per Villain ke saat Nahin. Yeh Triangle hai Ahankaar, Dil aur Muhabbat ke beech-Suniye Madhu ki zubaani

Today, effectively, they have established that its a See-Saw of Craziness between Madhu and RK

I think, today, I had this feeling within me...ENOUGH of Craziness now, as it is plain simple...a SEE-SAW GAME of CRAZINESS.

Suspicious I am. And rightfully I have the right to suspect Madhu and even RK has that right.
But problem is each time, Madhu will cry for being suspected, Madhu will have unprecedented sympathy and RK will be bashed because he deserves it.  Nothing becomes right and Nothing becomes wrong as in all honestly it will a WAR between VIEWERS between their EMOTION Vs LOGIC.

And there will again be NEGATIVITY within the Discussion Forum with question mark on Entertainment.

Will there be Entertainment and natural growth again in a love story ?

When they are together, there is always a mental separation symbolically represented through Pillows Wall.
When they are far away from each other,  there is that yearning represented through their fights.

Any given day, yearning is good entertainment between this couple rather than to watch the Pillows wall.

On this note, I have to say, it snapped today for me, to analyze this show anymore.  Its crystal clear to me, how it will go on. And I think I will be watching the show by myself from tomorrow on without giving my daily reviews, as I don't to spoil the pleasure for anyone.  Whenever, I'll feel like giving my review, I shall come here. Whenever I feel like just reading, I shall come here. Hope tomorrow, I really won't get a mind-blowing episode that makes me write about it.

The EDT work will continue as it is. I will still be part of it maintaining it.
I shall still be part of the Chat Clubs that I am member of.  Smile

It's not revenge that would be too obvious, but it's not the flood of love she spewed today either. I need to watch the epi again to decipher it, but even that may not help.
How can she do a complete turnaround so fast? Just based on that story? I am frankly, as disbelieving as RK looked. I think the lovey-dovey sweetie pie dialogues were too sugary for him.
I'll wait and watch..as all the CVs are suggesting.
PS: was it just me or was her lipstick OTT today?

Direct cut to the RK Mansion entertainment room where she is all decked up and having made his favorite delicacies... But all said and done, all that she expressed today in the second half were very genuine and heart-felt...
RK talks about taking life and Madhu talks about giving life.. Wonderful pair...LOL
First time in the history of the show, RK ki bolti bandh karadi Madhu neLOL
RK was pretty suspicious but I felt he did soften towards the end but all his antennaes were pretty much up and was looking and trying to read her eyes...
Hope we are not heading for a shakki RK track... Plz CV's spare us that horror... Sorry ladies... I know am having horrific ideas... it's a case of better safe than sorry...
Actually instead of saying that I will fight with your complicated dil,etc,etc... She got a hang of his tedha feelings for her.Wouldn't it  have been better to say that I will give you a second chance and make him work? But Madhu is Madhu...I will never know what Madhu has up her sleeve...
Aside: Next time police commissioner will not pick up RK/Bji's call at all...
My current favorite song was played on RK-Madhu :D... I've always wanted it to be played on the show:)

Puja, Shri, you may both be very right on this point, but within the storyline it could easily be the other way as well.
We have seen - especially in recent times - that Madhu with prudence everytime tells Padmini and Trishna whatever will cause them to go along with her wishes.
So this may certainly be a combined plan to whatever extent.
But Madhu has never previously shown any hesitation in placing her driving needs above her mother, on very rare occasions but extremely decisively. She *says* all the right things, and she deeply loves her mother. But when it comes to doing something that she very much wants to, she has never let Padmini be a deterring factor.
Also, audience has no problem with female lead disowning or letting herself be disowned by her entire maayka for her conjugal relationship.
And another point is that when it comes to RK, Madhu may say, do and even intend anything most decisively, but she and he both fail to execute any plan vis-a-vis each other if an unexpected factor looks set to imperil the other.
Just hope Padmini's disowning scene - regardless of whether genuine or preplanned - marks a decrease in her intrusions.Ouch

I would have bought that had I the conviction that MAdhu Fan groups will uphold her getting back to Rishabh Kundra at the expense of lying/hurting her mother.  This track presently, in truest sense should hurt Madhu Supporters, but I cannot be even sure that anything balanced will come from that camp.  For them, all they care is Madhu should be deified and should not be made to weep.  And what is the track going to do now. RK will turn the Villain of the show, thanks to MAdhu and Sultan friendship - so more RK bashing Zindabaad even if may not deserve all of it. So reviewers like me will have to keep mu mouth shut because, RK needs to go through this humiliation even if I am cringing at the type of incredulous drama.  Ofcourse he will be defeated and develop heart...but what of Madhu. Is she ever going to grow? ...or at least declared by CVs that she is not Doodh ki Dhuli...because if Forum groups rest, then I too will have personal peace...otherwise FAN hyprocrisies will always torment me.

I am not sure, how you Rishbals fans can take all this manuvering agenda?  But sorry...I may not understand it at all...so I rest here.

Shri, I'm not referring to *any* of the online fan groups.
Just that the TRP audience never seems to have a problem with the female lead acting in favour of even an undeserving member of her marital family against the interests of her entire maayka.
So not just Padmini, even the entire Mallick family on the one hand, Madhu would be fine in terms of mass audience support - a little upset with her but appreciative of her priorities.
And RK and Madhu have both been repeatedly shown gaining support from their mothers or prevaricating to them in order to protect or otherwise advance their motives vis-a-vis each other.
The TRP audience would be perhaps annoyed if Madhu prioritized her mother over her marital relationship.

Shri, read your thoughtful review, and it was wonderful as always.   I sincerely hope that there is some sort of sensibility hidden in this upcoming track, so we won't get deprived from your brilliant detailed analysis.  Your interpretations of RK and Madhu's relationship have made me fall for their love story even deeper.
@Bold 1: To be honest, I have no expectations anymore.  With this unpredictable team of writers plus the lead actor who declines to play passionate scenes (I'm referring to VD's dislike towards romantic scenes) my hopes have been drowned.   But, you already know that I'm a sucker for romance and crazy about the chemistry that RK & Madhu share; hence, I fall shamelessly every time there is a hint of romance on the screen.  Although, today's romantic scene caused more of dilemma then joy for me, I was constantly questioning Madhu's sincerity.
@Bold 2: You have always been the voice of reason, so please don't stop providing your feedback.  I'm certain RK and his complexity will move you once again, and we will get those wonderful lengthy analysis.  At least for me, his character is the reason why I tolerate all the inconsistency of this show…

@Red, I totally agree!!! It would've been more believable if she screamed in anger and showed her frustration.  It made sense he didn't hug her, the man was in shock by her instant display of affection.  A receptive hug would've made the scene more unreal..

By Anastasia
Okay, so how I feel about the bomb that was dropped today, I summed it up on Pg 1.  I was not expecting this and watched most of the episode by staring out the window. Because I was that much uneasy and squirmish with these 180 degree turn of events and Madhu acting/truly-behaving way too quixotic and rhapsodic to be believable for me. Instead of reading too much into what implied what, I'll give it a few more episodes to play out entirely. But I'll add this - for the most part of Madhu's declaration, RK had an expression up on his face that exactly mirrored mine - Confused Am I (Is he) that hell of a charmer?! Which story of mine(his) actually worked?! Did I(he) really pull "dil dhak-dhak ki jagah madhu-madhu karta hai" off? She really believed me(him!) ?! How is this freaking happening?!!

Instead I'll just talk about the first 3:30 mins of today. Sultan talks about Madhu like that uncle who knows hardly anything about his niece but still likes to pretend that he is churning out the best advice for her. And sometimes draws inappropriate comparisons between her and his dearly departed wife. Hearing Sultan's inapt blabbering, in a state of frenzied fury, RK crushes Padmini's phone to dust with his two bare hands! Lol kidding. But I'm pretty sure he walked away with his Sasuma's phone. LOL And Sultan immediately calls on the home phone! Uh-oh buddy, eager much? And Padmini ji, you're disappointing me. Which one of Madhu's friends do you think she is staying with? If that friend was never shown on the show, you should know that she doesn't exist. Well RK walks back in the mansion, naming names and huffing out instructions to Bittoo ji, when he suddenly comes to an abrupt stop and finds the enthralling Madhu (draped in my favorite saree ever) napping on the couch (and himself looking like a Greek God in the process).

And if Madhu has indeed returned to RK, why lie about it at all? Ermm

Second scene-
Erm, okay.
Madhu was speaking so much that for a moment in the middle I felt like calling out (in RK style)-'Cut it!
As a stand alone, it was definitely a romantic scene. But what to do, I'm not someone who can simply enjoy it for what it is. Sigh!

My mind was constantly trying to read between the lines. And I came up with four alternatives for what was going on today (in decreasing order of probability)-

1. Both RK and Madhu were both being truthful- most likely

If this is the case, what more is left? I'm going to get very bored unless the makers come up with something out of the box.

I'm glad she figured out that his feelings for her emerged only upon almost losing her (quite a parallel to when he was shot, isn't it?)

She said something to the effect that even when he is consciously aware, he won't admit that he's tedha.
Does that mean she has made peace with her own trust issues and is back to concentrating on his? She believes in his feelings for her irrespective of what he says/does?

This brand of love makes me a little uncomfortable. There is something unpleasant about believing that someone loves you when they say they don't/ don't say they do (even if their actions are suggestive)

2. Both were faking- tied with number 1
This, according to me, is the most interesting possibility.
I'm not saying that they don't love/ have feelings for each other but just that at this point of time, each has a separate agenda on their mind.
Reasons: Did Madhu compose her speech while cooking or sleeping? The 'suraj' and 'saagar' metaphors were a little too perfect and I didn't see her pause/ draw a breath to think before spouting them.

And for most part of the scene, I had a similar suspicious expression as RK.

There's something off about his reaction today. Other than the one shot where we see his breath catching in his throat, I didn't see any relief when the suspicion wore off.
Am I totally off mark in thinking that he looked almost bored?
He has said it on several occasions that he prefers the 'jungli billi' version of his biwi and today I believed that.
When she's not showing interest in him (post unwedding), he's terribly interested in her. The moment she's interested in him (sympathy/KC/today), he loses interest.
Did anyone else get this feeling?
Or perhaps, he's just shrewd and considering (like us) the possibility that she's up to something.

3. Madhu alone was faking- second possibility
In accordance with her short term lie to Padmini, Madhu doesn't even need to go to the lengths that RK did. If she turns around tomorrow and tells him that everything she said today was a lie, she can effectively crush him.

 4. RK alone was faking- least likely
I'm not ruling this out,  even if everyone calls me twenty kinds of cynic!
If he thought that she moved on too easily the last time, this time revenge will be that much sweeter. She won't even have 'veer, dheer, balveer' on her side to recover if rumours about Padmini disowning Madhu are to be believed.
It is possible that his concern about her disappearance/ well being today was real while his feelings for her aren't. This has happened before too.
Precap- She's still not done talking??
I think he did say 'I love you' or an RK equivalent of it because her 100 watt smile can't be simply because of her own profession, can it?

TT,

Seems your state of mind was like mine. God ! so many possibilities there and I went along in the same manner. It actually unnerved me with so many possibilities that I finally made a decision that I need to reign in my craziness and reduce my time for the show. I am glad, I had an emotional disconnect with the show.

And looking at Madhu's volte-face, I have a feeling that even Rishabh Kundra had an emotional disconnect and he is snapping out of Ishq mode. LOL  Now the track can be stretched like a rubber.  Very Elastic and Tensile it is. LOL

And  loved those bolded black parts.  I was really really BORED BORED of the episode and laughed at the ridiculous volte-face there...and it only sharpened my bad feeling that this effectively now switches off the growing heart in Rishabh Kundra. The guy is a cynic and matured person with the ways of the world. One thing that he cannot handle is Idealism that looks incredulous and Sweet Talk when he deserves a slap instead. I feel that he respects slaps when he deserves them and scolds better than sweet-talk, though he loves to scoop sugar from the bottom of his tea-cup.

@red 1 - As a daughter - its a disqualifying trait for the viewer, so its a plot device for Padmini to disown Madhu, but who planted this plot device ? Madhu herself. Why ? That leaves a lot of distaste for me.

@red 2 - Not sure of him, but I was definitely bored.

@ red 3 - I got the same feeling.

@ red 4 - Fine. I don't mind it.

@ red 5 - Well ! What can I say, He will be forced to do that with this kind of incredulous acceptance from Madhu.

@red 6 - LOL

@ Shri - I agree, all the gaping holes in Madhu's action can only be filled if I assume that Paddy, Trishna are all part of whatever Madhu is cooking. It is an active effort on part of Maliks to bring RK to scratch.
The disowning is designed to make RK believe in Madhu's sincerity ...while Madhu's flirting with Sultan to keep him doubtful.
Essentially he is being pushed in circumstances where he has to decide between mind and heart again and again until he learns to pick and trust his heart.

Pooja,

@bold - Agree
That is what my poor heart cannot take it. My heart is going to palpitate with unnecessary tension...so better off I am watching all alone, as then I no need to heed to group viewing rules. At least I can bark and snap and snide and no one is going to say anything to me. Cool LOL

Am confused by today's episode.   Enjoyed it, but don't know exactly what to make of it.

Liked that Sultan says that he doesn't like people calling him to ask the whereabouts about their wife (can I hope that he's gotten the message that Madhu is someone else's wife? And that he is ethical enough to not go running after another's wife?)

Trishna gives a small start when RK refers to Madhu as his wife.  Why?   Padmini doesn't hugely react.    Sultan calls Padmini back on the land line (probably afraid that RK still has Pad's phone.)  BTW, does Padmini really think that Madhu is at a friend's?  On a sleepover?   Otherwise she's going to find out where Madhu is pretty soon - its already nighttime.

RK talking to Bittuji about calling the police commissioner re: Madhu's disappearance, when he sees Madhu fast asleep in his own house on his own couch.  At this rate, the next time she goes missing, the Comish is going to be totally yawning, and will not take RK and his missing (yet again) wife seriously.

Madhu - whats going on with the "set se seedha ghar aana?"   Sounded fishy to me.  RK looked skeptically at Madhu at her sudden volte-face  (and I felt like I was right there with him.)  In any event, she told him all the reasons why she is back.  They were spot on, and I felt like she really does get this man.   However, if  this is her attempt at revenge - then one can only assume that the love she had for him is dead.   Otherwise this will not make sense at all.

On the other hand, RK's reaction tomorrow is going to be another story.   Hang in there, Madhu!

And to lighten my confused state of mind, here's my moment of the day - (it's scary, it does seem like I'm developing an unhealthy obsession with Sultan's sartorial choices)   The outfit is even more "interesting" than I originally thought - notice the jodhpurs?

Am a little stumped with the turn-around that Madhu has had... She did say in the last episode that she has not yet forgiven him...

Above all, don't lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love.

She wanted to have him hold her and tell her all the demons were pretend, that there was no monster in her closet, that everything would be okay. But that was a lie. The demon was in her head, telling her she was too fat. She had to get the demon out. But she couldn't do it by herself.
