Superstar Vs Hair-Dresser or Ex-Husband Vs Ex-Biwi ? Feeling sandwiched ?!
Events of the Episode
- Another beautiful episode. Continuing their fight in the Vanity Van, the Ex-Husband and Ex-Biwi end up throwing and accepting a challenge of how the hair-dresser is going to ousted in 3 days from her job and how the hair-dresser is going to retain her job for next 30 days until the prod shoot schedule gets completed.
- Trishna is worried that Madhu's challenge with RK may not turn awry as RK is so capable of crossing all limits. Madhu assures her that she is not afraid as earlier she was in limits and so RK could get away and that now she won't back down to break her limits if need be.
- Bittuji worried explains all this to Radhaji the next morning as she comes back from Pooja. Radhaji asks him not to worry for the 3 days tough fight as something good will come out of their bitter fights.
- RK catches Bittuji's fear and asks what he is so afraid of and who is going to upset RK's apple cart. Radhaji tries to cover up thinking her son must have overheard something...which comes out so silly that we laugh at the scene.
- Bittuji and RK leave for studio earlier than other days as RK wants to be prepared for his Hair-dresser ousting challenge. There likewise, Madhu is also charged up is leaving. Padmini and Trishna gift her a hair-dryer for her job.
- At the studio, shooting is going on. Its a 12 minute scene and worth watching the dynamics of the scene. The shoot is going on okay until RK's heroine and her hair-dresser turn up on the set. RK becomes the abnoxious, impossible guy, who to torment Madhu, starts complaining to his heroine about her hair. Madhu is called to do resetting of hair, director is made to look into the hair problem. In all of this Madhu is still indifferently holding on to her duty with her acknowledging only Heroine and the director as her bosses.
- RK disrupts the shooting three times. In the end he incites the heroine into mistrusting Madhu which causes her to throw away her hair-dryer. Madhu feels bad, does not show tears, RK is happy and continues the shoot. When director announces Lunch break, RK plots with his female costar to lend him her hair-dresser. Madhu who is having her lunch with Bittuji is disrupted and asked by the heroine to go and meet RK in his vanity Van. Madhu is surprised and upsetting looks on for seeing no rationale in the heroine's order...Episode ends.
Episode Reviews
Marking the 200th Episode with memories around celebrity hair-styling and Stylists because nothing is as crazy and as relevant as this.
- Madhu is the hair stylist to RK's heroine and the feline fight is going on between the two over hair styling as the back-bone of their animosity. The entire episode is about hair-styling, hair-dressing equipment tod-fod and it is also about hair-stylist borrowing with precap about head and hair-massage.
- Live Chat with Vivian Dsena and Drashti Dhami
DD mentions how VD does his RK hair-style for 15 minutes between shots and how everyone gets frustrated with his time. And VD confesses its really difficult for his hair to have the RK style crumpled/posh look as his hair keeps falling down...so doing between the shots makes sense.
- New Buzz on BollyCurry
Now watch Bollywood celebritiesRanbir Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor getting a whole new look by celebrity hair-stylist Aalim Hakim in a new TV show, dedicated to hair-styling trends.
Bhai...aakhir mein baal hi to hain...baalon pe atyachaar ya humpe atyachaar !!!

****************The Feline Fight*****************
Yesterday's feline fight...that I felt vibes about when I watched it...I couldn't help myself and ended up watching all the available You Tube videos on Lion and Lioness fighting in the night. Not one was interesting to me...reminding me sorely of those that I had watched over NGC and Discovery Channels. But still I enjoyed...
Somehow my mind is so filled up with their new DNA of romance
, that here unable to watch the episode between work...but am watching lion fights with my coffee breaks and boring work at the table.

So here it is. Have fun...well those who have my frame of mind will sure have fun.
The problem is that lioness usually live in their pride (group) and here Madhu is alone...unless metaphorically i shall club all her silent supporters as her pride

My analysis later ...
But I am enjoying the words you are using...cartoon and cheap...lol Expected. Wasn't it ?

Take 2
Watched the episode. Liked the episode very much. Though earlier in the day, I made light-hearted posts, but very much relevant to the theme of day's episode, be it the Hair-styling and Hair-dressers or the territorial or honour fight between the two wild cats, this time it is my episode take on a serious note. I have not read any reviews and at the risk of sounding repetitive, I start off.
Today MEIEJ lived up to its original concept and what a day, it had to be done on its 200th episode. The show was supposed to be about Film Industry with the upper-strata of the Superstar and the underbelly, the lower strata without whom the industry will not exist. Yesterday, this topic was touched by my our posters here. But today, that superstar weight and Underbelly existence was prominently showed through the leads. RK as the Superstar and Madhu as the hair-dresser amidst the entire shoot schedule for 12 minutes brought out the coordination, the conflict, the cooperation that is needed for a production schedule. They beautifully brought out the logistical issues that can upset the entire shoot schedule on the production floor.
The production floor and the shooting scene.
The entire set and shooting was amazing to me and that work place ambience so kicked in for me that I was like...God!!! for how long we bore that stupid kitchen, bedroom and living room drama at RK Mansion and the chawl. This shooting was just great to see.
After a long time, when I watched the episode, I was not concerned of RK and Madhu as that great pair with good chemistry and promise of their own drama which is gripping and interesting. Today I was watching it as if I was an independent observer of the floor and saw how the shooting was going on with the Roll Sound, Camera Rolling, Action from the director, Scene Note from the technician and the cameramen starting their work with the actors doing the work. What did I see today ? A Superstar, a New actress, the production crew, the Hair-dresser from the crew being tormented and ultimately who was looking the most frustrated and tormented of all ?! Not Madhu, but the Director. His face was far more piteous than Madhu's.
The Privileged versus the Underprivileged
Coming to the superstar and the hair-dresser, Madhu was a perfect match to RK in today's drama. I am sure, in real life, at real prod schedules that stars cannot totally disregard the crew. So that way, the way Madhu was shining in dignity was simply superb to see. Else we would never have had people like Saroj Khan or Prabhudeva revered. Those are just the choreographers coming to my mind, but I am sure the hairdressers, costume make up artists etc also, without any fail do reserve their dignity and can command even the actors...except when the director fails to protect them with the starry weight around. Today that was shown clearly. The director was frustrated with RK. And he knew the superstar was being difficult and starts making personal attacks on him before his crew. So he showed his displeasure to Madhu. Madhu who was concerned about reporting only to her attributed boss and responsibilities was reporting to the director that hair was looking good but when he showed his displeasure, understanding his source of frustration, did not argue and was obediant. Clearly the hierarchial structures were being visible to all.
I think I can go awn and awn at the the entire thing because I am in such a daze, I will stop and go by individiual characters today.
VD as Superstar RK
Liked him in his Policeman Wardi. Simply adorable and cute the way he sat with that Dabangay dress of Salman Khan. And the way he played the obnoxious, self-important star, was commendable. As a superstar RK knew where to draw the line. When he incites the heroine to throw away the hair dryer, he goes and rubs salt on Madhu further by saying she is coming in the middle of the frame. This was intentionally made for the director, whose patience could have broken anytime, so instead of continuing on more tormenting, he grabbed the opportunity or getting one point up on the scale with Madhu and the director that he now is willing to finish the scene.
And at home, when he got ready early in the morning for his shoot, he was again the apprehensive guy, who was thinking all his well-wishers praying for his fall, defeat. Here it was his mother and Bittuji. In his inflated ego, he is thinking they are praying against him and so he is all solo, he has not yet started seeing that they had actually conspired against him. He still lives in some kind of illusion.
When he sees Bittuji closely chatting with his mother or Madhu, RK is not saying anything to him. He is not yelling at him. Methinks he was so happy that Bittuji decided to be back after resigning that he is now compensating Bittuji with his heart-felt desire of going against himself emotionally by siding with his mother and Madhu. He is okay with this arrangement with his long time friend. Shows his lonesomeness inspite of everything he has in life.
DD as Hair-dresser Madhu
Liked her red and black simple suit. Minus that dupatta, it is veru much my taste. I wear suits sans dupatta and have been wearing like that since 2000 when Delhi was like still...where is your dupatta ?! DD's makeup and hair-style was all very appealing to me. Because all of it points to a working woman without lehraate hue, udte hue baal (no flowing and blowing hair). Madhu as that hair-dresser today looked so confident and skillful that I was envious of her confidence and deft hands. She was doing her work and taking her position back at her corner, watching the shoot. Everything about her attitude and persona was "I mean business and not non-sense". Liked her very much. Well today DD and Madhu, finally made sense to me though I never complained DD's role-play in kitchen as well. DD actually acts very well when doing working roles such as cutting vegetables, cooking, folding clothes, or this hair-dressing, she has skillful hands and all of this today added life to Madhu's character as the underbelly/backbone of the Film Industry.
Bittuji
Today, he looked such a compassionate person. He was the only one very much worried for Madhu. Trishna was worried, but Bittuji seeing it in front of his eyes was very worried and I liked that about him today.
Radhaji
yes, they showed her in the beginning as a person who knew the dynamics of shooting and crew roles and all, but now her confidence that the 3 days challenge will bring out something good was just too much for me to absorb. But that is just my apprehension and I will not blame her, because she has a stake in the overall plan. She wants Madhu to win and that is her investment and of course she will be bullish (optimistic) about it.
Trishna and Padmini
They have mellowed down. Padmini far more since her cursing. But then I should not complain. What bombastic dialogues I would want them to give her now. But yes as a house-keeper, I would like to remind Padmini that "beti ke gham mein, hari-patti ki sabji fridge mein rakhna bhool gayin" ( that she forgot to keep the green-leafy vegetables in the refridgerator in her daughter's pain). The spinach she had bought the previous night when Radhaji came to visit them had now been there out in the stand for more than 36 hours and hence the wilting. Lol!!! Watch the scene.
And Arti Puri, her voice is hoarse. Seems she is having throat infection. But how come she forgot that she still has that 20 lakhs from Balraj ??? What a blooper. Sigh!!!
And finally Rishbala and their challenge between them. Amidst the studio drama of the Superstar Versus the Hairdresser, I could not much give weight to their personal equation. Not sure, how I will perceive this tomorrow. Because I do know that Madhu other than just being the hair-dresser, very well was throwing her weight on her Ex-husband if he was throwing his weight on his Ex-Biwi. Not just a dramatic requirement, but the chemistry between RK and Madhu clearly is inflammable. Their love story did not flare up so much as their hate story is now flaring up. When in each other's personal spaces, they mock each other as Superstar and ordinary girl, but in their eyes, they treat each other so equal and yet so worm like worthy of all squashing. Its just interesting to see without applying any principles of regular romance and just watch them like two wild cats.

All jokes apart, one thing that comes across is the plight of these unseen unsung heros who contribute towards each scene. I mean the make up artists and other technicians. The amount of incredibly atrocious behavior they have to put up with is simply mind blowing. To face it every day, not knowing what will set off these lead actors and what pacifies them it is like a balancing act on a rope. And the remunition they get for their long hours of slogging is just pittance. Kudos to these people in the serial and also in the real life.
I forgot to congratulate MB team. Indeed great work by the entire unit to keep us hooked on. Great job and you guys deserve all the praise. Thank you very much.

MM - @bold- That's what I liked about the scene. It was taken at such a slow pace, we got a' real time' experience of what it must be like to face starry tantrums, and keep mum because well, he's the star.
SD- Completely agree with your post. Every word of it.
Film studio scene:
i kept wondering ...why did n't people react to this drama between RK and MADHU?? It seems abnormal to watch all of them with impassive faces. But we are reacting like normal, everyday people. In the film world these kind of spats with wives, gfs, ex wives, mistresses must be routine. So the crew learns to ignore it and do their own thing...at the end of the day, as long as the shot gets complete, they can stoically move ahead. After all the show must go on. In real life, I remember when Salman-Aishwarya were going around, and they broke up, there were constant reports on how Salman would land up at her shooting, disrupt the schedule till she left the shooting with him. in fact, she was replaced in a SRK movie (Chalte Chalte, Rani replaced her) because Salman came on the sets and threw a big tantrum, and SRK being the producer, could afford to take that call. Theirs was a similar relationship...passionate, she was besotted, so was he, but it was unhealthy, physical abuse involved. In fact, a few years later, when she had moved on in life, i remember her being very bitter that noone in the film industry stood up for her.Imagine, she was a star herself, Miss World and yet she faced the brunt of his tantrums. Aishwarya being aishwarya, indicated this very subtly. Our Madhu is after all a hairdresser on his sets.
So yes, I was fascinated with the whole atmosphere, the shooting, the superstar arrogance, the frustrated secretary, hassled director, gritting his teeth but forced to cow down and yell at the hairdresser instead. If they all knew this was a personal thing going on between ex hubby and ex wife, they pretended to ignore it and follow the Superstar's lead on how to treat his ex wife. At some point, one of them will cross the line at insulting her, causing Rk to turn his sights on that unlucky person.
DNA of Romance
For me, the betrayal at the altar was the worst, most humiliating thing he could have done to Madhu. It took me, a long time to accept it. Now whatever he does, he has no control over the situation. he is the one, reacting to her like as if they are a couple. Will she also behave like they're a couple? Plus, whatever he does to humiliate her, will ricochet back to him, he is going to be equally hurt or more. If it's revenge, he will be surprised at the hurt, it causes him. If he's pretending revenge, then too he will be hurt at not being able to control this drama.
For Madhu, this is uni dimensional, she needs to get over him, period. She is not going to be looking at straws to clutch. Their pre-caps are always mis leading. My only hope is she does'nt cry during the champi. After having told him, my tears are out of stock, don't want her to cry in front of him.
I am more irritated with the promo. Even that, somewhere, we don't know Madhu's reactions to him carrying her. She did say yesterday that she is willing to cross all limits with him. So we have to wait and watch, will she actually do it? She did try yesterday, twice...once: she insisted the hair style was perfect, two: she continued using the hair dryer till she was reprimanded.

Congo to the MEIEJ on the completion of 200 episodes!!!
They reminded us of the great Salim-Javed-AB trio of the '70's
The sher-sherni ki ladai turned into a Tom and Jerry fight!!!!
Madhu- This whole thing for me is turning out to be more like she wanting to prove something to him than it is for herself. I may be wrong but nevertheless, not able to shake of that feeling... Just 10 mins back, she was saying, I don't deem you fit to play with me,etc and the moment he challenges, you are drawn towards it and you took it up!!!!
RK- the less said the better... He seems to be reaching new heights of stupidities... Ultimately he did end up praising her work!!!
The poor debutante Shraddha became the Bali ka Bakra (Sacrificial lamb)!!
The only thing that I loved about the episode was when RK received a call and Madhu without giving a damn continued to use the dryer...
Btw, do the hair dressers use their own equipment? I thought the PH bears all the expenses of the equipment...
