Abnoxious RK, Nervous Madhu at their first meeting, Tormented Rishbala post meeting
Events of the episode
- Continuing from Saturday, Madhu keeps her saree and mangalsutra safely away.
- New day...and Bittuji calls Madhu to come to Kamal Studio for new job as heroine's hairdresser. Kamal Studio happens to be where RK is shooting for his film. When practicing for a dream sequence, RK and Madhu accidentally meet. Both are consternated at their first meet. Madhu scuttles away quickly but she trips. RK concernedly calls out Madhu. Madhu looks back and RK regrets showing concern. He starts being mocking to her.
- Madhu is scared...and when director calls aloud fpr heroine's hair-dresser, Madhu wants to go away but RK jeeringly talks to her. In a huff Madhu leaves the place not wanting to work where RK is shooting. On the way out Madhu meets Bittuji and she is upset with him for finding work for her at a studio where RK is shooting. RK sees the two talking, mocking goes away to his vanity van.
- A reporter and photographer is waiting for RK to interview him within vanity van. The mocking face of RK changes to frustrated face in the van and he gives a abnoxious interview with every answer, thought, concern being Madhu over his mind. When you watch you will find it interesting with his unhappy poker face. He sees Madhu leaving the studio telling Bittuji that she will not work where RK will be present.
- At RK mansion, before Bittuji is able to tell Radhaji about RK and Madhu's meet, RK fearing that Bittuji will give a hopeful picture to his mother, RK paints an abnoxious narrative to his mother about the meeting himself and her ex-bahu. Radhaji is disgusted about RK's boastful antics.
- He goes to his room. Starts relaxing with his evening drink along with music. Baahon ke Darmiyaan starts playing. His face becomes grave. There in Chawl, Madhu too gets disturbed listening to the song. She feels tormented and wants to block out the song by covering her ears. She goes to close the door, but doesn't close the door. Here RK feels tormented minute by minute as he remembers his moments with Madhu. He smashes his glass. Then trashes his stereo system. Episode ends
Episode reviews
Another new day. It was interesting to watch the new dynamics. Everything was as expected. Nothing to analyse.
All scenes were good. My heart stopped when that dupatta fell over Madhu and RK...and I actually closed my eyes...crying out...Lillaah...what just happened. Thank God!!! that first time passed for both of them now. When I think of it...I still shiver...
ASIDE: VD as the man, as the boy, how he must be enjoying to smash the glasses with precision. lol
I am bit confused with the scene interpretation that some of you over page 1(have not read all reviews) had when RK was speaking to his mother on the stairs.
The way I interpreted the scene is that...Bittuji saw him talking to Madhu. So RK, the control freak, the nervous guy, he just doesn't want Bittuji to romp home and start stomping before Radhaji ecstatically expressing to her that Chief and Madhu met today at the studio...Because everyone in the world knows...meeting can be interpreted in various ways...Radhaji's hopes may rise.
And so the guy here, before Bittuji can start his chit chat with his mother, he himself narrates the incident the way he wants his mother to perceive about the situation.
But yes, I am also confused that why RK did not scold Bittuji for talking to Madhu and finding work for her. I thought he would yell at him. Here in lies my confusion...the way I understood it above and the way he let Bittuji go scot free.
But then than as Angeena referred the song as "parde mein rehne do...parda na uthao" its confusing to me...but it is best interpreted by me as if RK wants things to be under wraps and so be it. His mother and Bittuji need not read too much into things.
Having said that I seal my lips for now until I talk to Zoya and Preet later in the evening.

Bittuji - RK relationship (Rittuji)
Reconcilation of Studio Track revelations about Rishabh with Rishabh of Revenge Track

Shri, this is to you.
This is regarding your post on Page 1. I am not quoting the entire thing because it might make it difficult for other people to navigate as I'm already gonna type a whole lot.

First of all, superb, excellent, beautiful, awesome - these sort of words fail to describe what I actually felt while reading it. Because your take is always the best. But today, grateful, is what I am. I love Math and it always gives me immense joy when I can make things add up rationally. Like while proving a theorem, its a solid proof if you've providedreasoning for each and every statement. That was the way I felt, when I finished reading your take. Relieved and Happy. Hope I am not sounding like a lunatic and you get what I'm trying to say.
What I understood, is I had it completely reversed.
Yes, I prefer RK over Rishabh, but that is not because he talks smart, he looks smart and I am a wide-eyed phangirl who can't watch him cosying up to another girl. But since I am taking this journey through Madhu's eyes, I saw what she saw, I liked what she liked, I felt what she felt. Not literally but in the context of the show. After watching the entire of last week, I thought RK was the driving personality. And that drove me nuts. Because if he is his doing, then what is left there to be salvaged. He had Rishabh (the good one if we were to assume RK as the evil persona) completely subdued in an attempt to protect him (Rishabh) and is the master of his own actions. But it's the other way round. I still don't understand whether RK or Rishabh, who is the more dominant one.
These were somethings that baffled me.
Bittoo ji is the companion of RK, not Rishabh. Although I have never seen Rishabh emerge in front of Bittoo ji, but something tells me Bittoo ji understands, to some extent at least. He, after RK got shot, while thanking Madhu, told her, his chief is a different man, not anybody is capable of understanding him. RK, even though bosses him around, always gave this feeling that he values him, not only as his P.A but also as a companion. But the way RK subjected him to insult when he came back ( disregarding the slap as a heat-of-the-moment reaction ), who was that RK or Rishabh? Because Rishabh doen't have any personal beef with Bittoo ji. Then was it all RK alone? I ask because even though this is about RK/MB lovestory, I believe his equation with everyone who loves him unconditionally brings out another shade of his persona to the surface.
I was actually emotionally down the entire weekend, because I felt hopeless about this. Or maybe it was the other way round. To me, RK became one of those one-dimensional characters who just never grows out of it. Like Dudley, or Crabbe and Goyle from Harry Potter, who actually wants to be a jerk and goes out like a jerk. So I retrofitted the "RK picking Dipali up" gesture as him indulging her advances without sufficient resistance. To me, it said, I'm throwing you out this time, try again next time. Gotta admit, I was not in agreement with you on Saturday on this. But today I am. And I am happy to be refuted. Actually more at peace.
And there is one more thing I made peace with after reading your take. That we can't stereotype human psyche. Each one of us are unique and there's no way of telling who is going to turn out how, even if we are subjected to exact same chain of events. Many lose their parents at young age or go through immense emotional turmoil and have to grow up fast. People do turn out okay. Almost all of us put up a tough exterior in order to deal with day to day emotional ups and downs. So how come RK gets an excuse to be this ruthless in order to protect his inner weaker self over and over. But I am readjusting my understanding. Who am I to think that since people usually turn out to be okay, he should have been too.

Ana,Thank you for the appreciatory feedback. My pleasure because, I like it that way. I wait until it really makes sense to me and then I give back. So yes...for me Hum Hai deewane song threw me off track, but then slowly adjusted into its shoes, but back of my mind was...no this can't be all...the guy Rishabh has not yet revealed himself...there's more to it.
So what hurt me in the revenge track, was that this guy did not even think, how bad he hurt that girl. I was like, so you are so blackened that you would just kill her as if she was a worm to be squashed. Yes, he was a clinical case...but thing is ...even in real life, it is difficult for us to take some people to psychological counselling because they mask themselves. It doesn't go anywhere.
That is why we have broken marriages with sudden rise of monster head in one of the partners...because marriage is that close relationship, which allows you to vent out your real self in one or the other manner...exposing or total faking...the truth is out sooner or later. Plus...any artist...its easy to know that they can morbidly think if they want to. They are not mathematicians, but very closely twist the mathematics for their own creativity. They are simply brilliant if totally original. Because as artists they break and create themselves. We cannot ignore that and if we are forging relationship with them, we better be prepared to get burned along with them.
Now coming to Bittuji and Rishabh Kundra.
What is their relationship ? 10 years of knowing each other and still Bittuji says, I cannot understand him totally. 10 years of knowing, and RK trusts him and may be loves him even if he does not say it. That slap...I will say it came out of his love for Bittuji...and it was on the spur of the moment under extreme anger at what his friend was saying...that anger was like "why are you making it difficult for me ? Don't you know I married her for revenge ? Don't you know I am like this ?"
I will say, just like with Madhu, Rishabh Kundra had been honest with Bittuji in his dealings. he had shown his RKesque character when harmonic to his surroundings and has shown his Rishabh side when morbidly thinking. Why Bittuji then stuck to him unlike Madhu, who doesn't like the morbid Rishabh. Because friendship is something precious. When you are together through thick and thin (struggle and success), you pretty much accept each other as is. Riishabh Kundra ...an apathetic person, had only family of sorts with Bittuji. That was enough for him to be with his chief. Isn't it some humanity on Rishabh Kundra side to feel empathy for Bittuji and apathy for rest of the world and so stemming that compassionate bond between the two.
What Bittuji has learned over the years is that when RK his chief starts behaving morbidly, he is like ...now I need to do damage control...and he dreads it...like the Party night when he tells Radhaji or Kuku Bhatia...saying Mahabharat ki Tayyari ho rahi hai. He knows destruction is not far away when he sees RK going morbid.
And it seems all his prayers were heard when he saw how Madhu can actually control his morbid mind. And as a friend again he is doing for his sick friend. At the back of his mind, Rishabh Kundra knows. And he too plays with Bittuji efforts like a challenge..."I shall see how much successful you can be to cure me"...and he just keeps silent and watches Bittuji like today.
So for now in the story...the most realistic relationship is Rishabh Kundra - Bittuji, followed by the new one that RK is forging with his mother...(which is best seen through the pictorial comentary that Syl (undisclosed) gave on last Thursday. With Madhu it is realistic, but a lot of it is still a fight with chapters still open...
Hope this helps.
