Episode 163 Discussion: 7th Jan 2013

Life mein Twist isliye Kahani mein Twirl
Episode 163 Discussion: 7th Jan 2013
That's Balraj's gameplan for MB'Verse in coming days. The episode was not much except
  1. Family Picture Taking and Exhibition to Balraj
  2. Radha (The Gatekeeper) being yet again the spokeswoman to advise RK and Madhu to complete their saat phere along with Padmini and Shamsher.
  3. Balraj vengeance unleashed.
  4. What takes the cake is Balraj's dialogues.
  5. Balraj's mother has died and his fortune has dwindled to 3 crores from 300 crores and he holds Madhubala his daughter as responsible and vows to kill her and his wife Padmini on the day Padmini is getting married to Shamsher.
Episode Take

When he first sees the exhibition at the Chawl...this is how he gets clean bowled.
Roma ==> "Aunty"
Shamsher ==> "Pehelwaan"
Trishna ==> "Pehelwaan ko apna baap bolti hai"
Padmini ==> looking at her mangalsutra and her sindhoor..."hamaare naam ka pahna hai...pehelwaan se shaadi...kya confusion hai"

history ki mystery clear ho rahi hai

RK ==>Yeh bhi shaamil hai is family main ?
Madhu ==> Vinaashbala

By the end of the episode when he devises his plan to kill his Vinaashbala, this is what we get to hear...
Padmini  ==> Kulta kalankini ...alag hi love story
"Main Tulsi Tere Aangan ki Pehelwaanjee, Badli karli maine saajan ki Pehelwaanjee"

Shamsher becomes a saand from Pehelwaan

"Madhubala nahin - main dooba saala, Balraj ki vinaashbala"

Asides
Where did get that picture of Madhubala from ? That was from Mata ki Chowki pooja. And it still has the caption of some old times ? Where did that clipping come from ?
RK ko Giraftaar karaate karaate
Madhubala ka dil...RK ke giraft mein

So finally we have one person saying per storyline that Madhubala is ATI KHABSURAT...Meri Bitiya...

Same carpet design that is present in RK's room.
RK -Madhu -Radha - dining table scene -- It did not strike any chord in my heart. Was not needed.

Balraj Background and Present.
Contrary to the disappointment felt by some, BALRAJ is very much retained from his original Character Scoping and now he has been Improved. The old flavor is Balraj is still retained. He used to consider himself Bhagwaan then and now he calls himself Bhagwan Shaitan Choudhary. But he is also milder due to his losses over the years. The story writers went back to original episodes and bringing the same Balraj. Yesterday too when I was watching the initial episodes, Balraj was comical, disgusting, serious, evil and idiotic. He is a mix of everything. So this Balraj is being correct...and actually the man is no longer in his prime of life, and as old person with seeing so much loss, he will definitely turn into a nervous guy.

To clarify one thing about Balraj...as I had watched the show's 1st four episodes yesterday night to prepare myself of Balraj eyeing his targets today.

He may be lamenting that 300 crores is now 3 crores.
But then, his mother actually called Guruji (Lalit Parimoo) as she becomes apprehensive on account of a recent land loss for Balraj. So even before Madhu is born, Balraj was losing money.

Whatever his mother (through her husband) amassed the property, Balraj had started to lose and without any progeny of his. Not that he was not having children, like a psycho, he was wanting a male child. To me it seemed that the Guruji was rather augmenting Balraj's fears. Because the Guruji...against a time setting of 1989, warns both mother and son that they should not discriminate between MALE and FEMALE child.

Another thing that was interesting for me was that Daimaa, warns Senior Chaudhrayn that they cannot call doctors and conduct the sex determination test on the unborn child. To which the Chaudhrayn answers that doctors will be called and the machine will be brought in secretly...that was funny to watch.  Atleast Colors got away with Social diplomacy there!

Significant to present tracks being played:
  1. Balraj called Trishna a "Bahadur" (Brave) girl...though he was pissed that she was his daughter.
  2. Daaima told Padmini that Trishna's mother was a brave woman and courageous at that.
  3. Trishna was attracted to all the vanity items in the Vanity Van. :)
  4. And Trishna was shown to have her own tastes (like saying no to biscuits) but then listening to Padmini. But then again, she gave all the buiscuits to the stray dogs. Padmini was super upset at her behaviour.  So Trishna was kinda dumb always...not understanding the situation or just a simple disconnect like her father.
  5. Balraj, though a maniac and hot tempered...when he cools down, he thinks intelligently...as in he is capable of deducing things.
  6. The story started in 1989. So MB is 22 years old.
  7. Gosh!! Both Balraj's daughters got his lil bit of maniac blood...I must say.
  8. What is Shamsher doing in the train from Motihari ?  And he turns out to be Roma's brother...what a clunk ! Shamsher and Balraj are Jaani  Dushman ...kya baat hai ??? They did not kill each other for the same woman...Padmini. Wow!!! Do Deewnane for Padmini!!

Re...The 7 phere completion required for consummation of the marriage.

From the viewer perspective, without 7 phere, we are not going to get to see consummation. So be done with it CVs.

Shridevi says...I hardly care whether CVs want to show 7 pheras completed or not. Because consummation is just one night love making and that too on TV, they will not show it. But for the show, it is the mirage/oasis as depends on what CVs want to show in the end. It will create the promise and thus viewer will be glued to watch the show until it is shown. And I am not going to fall to that bait. No way !!!

Plus how is that actually helping the CVs in writing scenes romantically aftewards. No change. They will continue to have same romantic scenes as now...only difference is they will not yearningly speak of wanting to melt in each others arms, or show desire and restraint and talk of dreams of having children...which is then making consummation done as actually a minus point for them. They will have an uphill task to create a beautiful romance once consummation is achieved. And no matter what seperation is induced, the magic is lost as viewers already would have the cathartic feeling.

RK and Madhu perspective...yes we want 7 pheron waali shaadi because we want to start our conjugal life in all propriety.

Shridevi says - I bless you my dear RK and MB. Just schedule it and i will grace the occasion with my presence and give you mu blessings. My dear, you deserve all the happiness. And I really would love to see junior RK and junior MB in RK dream fashion.

Story dicates - there is an inherent opposition to this dream.
Shridevi says - I concur.
As I explained in my yesterday's post.

By the end of Karva Chauth track, the 4 phera marriage loses its icy edge of having to be isolated from each other in thought; though conjoined as always. It gets the feeling, the warm feeling that starts to melt each other in the relationship they have. They both are happy to realize that they like each other and they start being happy about unexplored things about themselves...like MB falling in love to the point of effacing herself in his presence...like Rishabh knowing that he is still the feeling man and surprisingly it does not hurt him...

However what Rishabh Kundra again does not understand is what does it all mean ? There needs to have some meaning there ? Why did they have to meet in such gory manner ? Was it just for him to realize that he can love...yet again ? He can have something for himself ? Nowdays he is vacillating between being a happy and an insecure man...because he truly doesn't know why MB had been destined to be made part of his life. Even we don't know...Let's see where it goes... For now he thinks it was all for him and his new found happiness...May be that is not the case Rishabh Kundra. God has other plans for you two together...

Read it in full here

Though, those who are asking for the 7 phera marriage have already read my post...so they are still dreaming about it...No girls...you need the two to let them understand why they met like that and what each means to the other over the larger canvas.

We all know why Rishabh Kundra loves Madhu. We have his clearly expressed WHY's.
Can anyone tell me...why Madhu loves Rishabh Kundra ? Once I was discussing with Zoya at length and we both felt the sadness that RK still doesn't know that if Madhu loves him like he loves in purpose. She is just devoted...and that doesn't mean anything when the two souls are living in the material world. Devotion can be punctured and tested all the time with misunderstanding by any force that is antagonistic to their wishes.

This mystery of why Madhu loves RK is so encouraged in the storyline to keep the element of surprise.

This is the reason why we the viewers were purposefully not made privy to Madhu's love letter.
This is the reason why RK does not allow Madhu to tell her that she too loves him in the confession track. He just asks her to keep quiet and then seals her love with his kiss...and he wants her to come away with him just like that.
This is the reason why the story writers make RK keep asking his wife to trust him, believe in him, come away with him, have a 7 phera marriage. When do you beat drums like this ? When its not gonna happen...

And Shridevi finally says...for one silly consummation track, I don't want the story to be sacrificed. I need to know...just like the story writers showed me the promise...there needs to be a bigger reason why the two met in such an unprecedented fashion.

Marriage is just one sort of bond to be together...it gives a lot of scope for them to be together in the soap world of present times.
May be the makers had ideas like AA in her FF writes...to make MB his make up artist and then bring them together and have them married like Shantaram and Sandhya...and RK mentoring her to become actress...but that original premise gone...now I need to know the meaning for their being together now inspite of the incomplete marriage they have. The CVs just need to justify the soul of the love story to me and 7 phera marriage is not the answer in current circumstances.

Love your perspective here Shri...I completely agree with you. To add to the point you are making...this is the best of both worlds from a story perspective. They are married from a legal/social perspective but they are not married from thier mindset perspective. While this affords them all sorts of rights over each other publically and there are no fingers pointed at them yet both have to deal with insecurities of thier relationship and yearning in private.
Makes for an interesting situation between a couple who are both so passionate in thier outlooks and are crazily in love with each other.

Beautiful Shri. I wish the CV's could read your posts and give us the story we all yearn for. Don't get me wrong, I like the way MEIEJ is going now, and I understand the constraints the CV's are under...but sometimes I'm nostalgic for the promise of those initial promos...

Rishab have a family!

Madman!
Tum bhi 7 phere le lo

Zorica, Lovely poster...

Aside to ALL,

BUT...Watching this poster makes me cringe ...naturalistic feelings.

Why ?

How can the two...RK and Madhu sit at the dining table and eat with the same work/business/daytime clothes that they wore throughout the day ?????? How ???? Atleast Ekta Kapoor shows her working men change into kurtas and them coming to eat at the table. Atleast in EHMMBH, Virat; when he stays home throughout the day, he comes to the dining table wearing the same T.

Madhu with her flowing Dupattas...can she not think hygenically and just change to different clothes ?

OMG!!! the present generation of soaps...they belie the very TRP culture. The point of TRP is to generate a scale where by revenue through advertisements can be assessed. Today's Colgates and Pepsodents have ads with dentists recommending parents and children to brush their teeth twice a day. Ofcourse it is all ill-advised, forced sales on consumers through creating fallacy that one needs to brush twice a day. However coming back to sanity of modern world that alteast was reflected in 80's. Didn't we the 70's born children grow up on Dettol promoted culture, where the housewife equivalent of our mothers, would go out collect germs and dust from the Indian metro and polluted roads and come home to take a shower. And don't we agree to this...considering the dust we collect ? I don't know about Mumbai...but Delhi is BLACK SOOT and Sweat. Hyderabad is red mild dust...not as bad as Delhi. Actually lot cleaner provided you have not taken the public transport in peak hours.

And forget ads and TV promoted hygeine, I remember my mom always changing to her household get up when she came back from out and she would yell at us if we tried to have food without changing our school uniforms or outside casual dress. She made us religiously change into something else before we can do anything related to food.

And now I have my husband...paranoid ...much more than my mother...he can't stand me in my business clothes because I travel in the metro...so starts dancing until I change and I love to torture him more by taking my own sweet time.

So...what I am saying is...them having food in same set of clothes just makes me cringe !!!

Balraj sent a shiver up my spine today- his madness, now left unchecked is scary to behold. That said, I wonder, without his mother's guiding hand, just how effective will he be? With the Rishbala fight scene coming up, its a tragedy that the couple will be splintered just when they need to come together, giving Ballu the opening he needs.

[QUOTE=dramacrazy12]
Agreed...Balraj was scary. I was having a hard time understanding what upset him more..he was tricked 20 years earlier or that his family survived and is actually happy while his fortunes have declines in all these years. His daughter is married to a superstar, another daughter is poised to star in movie while his wife is all set to remarry. He seemed to be mad and jealous in equal measures. I still believe that he does not have smarts to pull this off ...he still wants to go and kill them. As far as Rishbala are considered thier fight could be a blessing in disguise.

[QUOTE=apolloartemis]
I feel the RK/Radha thing is going to take a huge step back when 1) The Bhatia's come back and 2) Madhu/RK has the fight. This is because I maintain my position that RK is doing the entire thing for Madhu- he himself has no intention with reconciling with his mom- his gestures are always reluctant, and Madhu has to coerce him to do them. So the sweetness does not give me diabetes but for me its false, and will come crashing down. And once again Radunce will show her true colors when Rishbala fight.

[QUOTE=dramacrazy12]
Agree again...Radha does not have the backbone to take any initiative or even to stick to her stand. It is in Bhatia's favor that RK and Radha remain splintered so he is bound to throw a monkey wrench in thier growing closeness. RK is reluctant to grow the relationship more because of hesitation than anything else. He knows it is time to move on but is not sure how to and Madhu is helping him with it.

[QUOTE=apolloartemis]
I wonder still, how Madhu will be forced into stardom. This is because they seem to be disposing of tracks faster than I can write-If it's a way for RK to keep her near him, then what leverage will he have? Furthermore, for Balraj to be totally destroyed Madhu has to be know- his star falls as hers rises. So again, does this mean the stardom track is coming up? Or just by being RK's wife she's famous enough?

[QUOTE=dramacrazy12]
I was once told by a very wise person that the danger in knowing your future or being scared of a curse is that they have a way of becoming self-fulfilling phophecies. Knowing tampers with your free will and essentially takes away your choices of changing destiny from you.
For example-Padmini ran because she wanted to protect her unborn child from her father's madness. If Ballu had not believed his downfall lay in hands of his daughter, he would have never tried to kill the Madhu. Padmini would have borne all the abuse but never run away...none of this would have happenned. Ballu's downfall had long started before birth of Madhu and Death of Ballu's mother is a natural occurance but his belief makes Ballu connect all this to Madhu.
There is an another curse in play- RK and Madhu will never have marital bliss as curse by Trishna. The question is will the couple believe it. If Rishbala do decide to complete the rituals with Shamini and Ballu does succeed in harming either RK or Madhu then what would it mean for the couple. Would it scare them enough to believe in it? If they do believe in it then will RK still want to marry Madhu at the risk of losing her or vice versa.
RK had wanted to leave his fame and live like a next door person...he wanted a small house, kids and so on  ...that is how he wanted to write his love story. If he can't have that ...then what will he go for...How will he tell his lovestory...on silver screen? How will he deal with unending yearning?
How will Madhu deal with her love?

By SD
And equally, I loved the exchange between both of you. AA and Puja's response to AA...about the application of self-will for self-destruction and the negation of the same over an assumed curse.  The question of whether curse can be made real.

You know what...I don't know when exactly...but my whole premise that RK will make Madhu the actress is on the fact that RK the fighter will make Madhu the actress and get her fame to disprove Balraj that she is the cause for his destruction. I really don't know how...but the compassionate and ethically moved person in me wants to see that a social message be sent out to masses that
  1. Curses do not work
  2. Destiny is self-charted when self-will is applied to predestined fate. One just needs to positively think. That guruji gave that kind of predicament to Balraj is self-explanatory. He showed him bad for his bad deeds. If he will not like the girl child, he will get destroyed by its rising power. So what is the "TOD"....solution...Balraj needs to kill his apathy for his girl child and and he will then rise along with his daughter's success. This message is already coming across to viewers
  3. Insecurities need to be fought with personal strength. Balraj fears his doom through Madhu, so wants to kill Madhu. RK fears lovelessness in his life and so wants to hold onto Madhu. No...Madhu cannot be the solution to your security. She can just be the helper to find your strength.
