Episode 139 Discussion: 5th Dec 2012

RK Tum Paagal Ho!  Biwi Tum Bachi Ho!

Episode 139  Discussion: 5th Dec 2012

Episode Events:
Its morning after KC. Madhu gets up and wants to go washroom and RK wants to accompany her to washroom so that she does not faint. They have a mini argument with Madhu feeling shy and RK pushing her buttons to make her cute-angry. Bittuji brings the nurse. RK arranges for Madhu's breakfast with diligent care, giving out a menu to the servant. Back in the room, RK helps Biwi, tie the dori of her suit. And when breakfast comes, as she is unable to eat because of pain in hand, RK offers to feed her, which Biwi refuses at first. When she fails, RK comes to feed her reminding her Mr.India joke and playing upon her. Madhu starts being fed by RK. Bittuji interrupts and takes RK away to discuss Madhu's blood report, which has Madhu's ill health condition cited as food-poisoning. This is revealed in the central hall, before all the Bhatias. Dipali opens her big mouth and says Madhu must have eaten something. Bittuji refutes her telling all that Madhu ate Dips leftover Sargi that she threw away into trash in a poly bag. RK suspects that the sargi was poisoned and off he goes to kitchen to find with which material she was poisoned. Bittuji finds a poly bag in the cabinet with full of paan ka saamaan.

Episode review
The episode was fun and entertaining. I was laughing a lot. Will give a B+ rating. Because nothing extraordinary...except visual and audio treats and feasts for the viewers which was expected when it was bound to follow per the story line. Right ? We had scenes of Rishbala, Mittuji moments, Rittuji moments, Washroom Banter, Mr India-Seemaji and Calender Moments, and Central Hall and Kitchen moments.

Last 7 minutes was like thriller cinema of olden days (60's, 70's and 80's) heroes and characters like Ifteqar would resolve the mysterious happenings in the movie. Really I miss those olden days where Hitchcockian or Agatha Christie movie style everyone would be assembled in one place and one person would start doing the khulasaa with everyone pointing or conencting the missing dots. Wasn't that happening when Bittuji tells his Chief that his Bhabhiji had food-poisoning ? Bittuji starts, Dips Bhatia speaks, RK wonders, and RK -Bittuji do the dog-work (sniffing around) for the poison in the house.

I can do away without writing much, but for the likes of my friend Munni who is waiting for my review, let me just write it anyways.

Washroom Banter
RK Tum Paagal Ho
Biwi Tum Bachi Ho
Mystery solved - Nurse is brought in by Bittuji
Mittuji Jeete, RK haare -Mission Washroom mein Ghusne ka Biwi ko sambhaalne ke liye Sampann.

The Considerate man that Bittuji is
Bittuji was very happy with how things turned out in the night. Seems he had all tasks set up for himself when he woke up. He knew, Chief would be tired by his night care-taking of his Biwii, so arranges for a nurse. And he was happy to see Man&Woman lovingly having their Nok-Jhonk. Seems he understood what was going on and he controls himself, but Madhu's relieved smile at his entry makes him lose it. His smile comes out.
RK is such a CONTROL FREAK. LOL He is just not happy that Nurse butted in as she was not part of HIS PLAN for BIWI CARE Mission. He just had to relent for social etiquette, otherwise, he was hell-bent to be going into the washroom along with his Biwi. Well I don't have any problem. Kaisa sharmaana bhai! Haque Hai RK ka. Good for him that he sends the Nurse back. Approve

Coming back to Bittuji's being the considerate man, he took a discretionary decision to keep his Bhabhi out of knowledge over the blood report analysis. Cannot say his idea or the CVs idea LOL, but seems like Bittuji was content to see his Bhabhi happy and just leave her so. Yes, Madhu was looking greatly happy...pleased and content, so Bittuji ka Haque Banta ki Bhabhi ke baare main soche aur kuch na bataaye Blood Report ke baare main.

The CVs closing of Loops - through the phrase, Dharthi (Mother Earth) Gole hai. So like a full circle, but with a twist they had the Dori tying scene completed by a balanced RK who did not have any problem looking at his Biwi and tying the Dori...because this time there was no hesitation from a relationship point. She was his Biwi and He was her Shauhar unlike last time, he did not know what their relationship could be termed as once the revenge ended. An aside. VD was tying the Dori as if he was tying his shoe laces. Oye Footballer! practice a bit around Vahbiz. LOL

The other closing loop was  Mr India-Seemaji and Calender barging in Moments. They had just embarked on getting friendly when it happened the first time, but today the friendliness progressed so much. There were so smiling with each other like friends. And we aren't even imagining that. We are seeing it. Not only they bantered, they acknowledged about the jokes and reversed the roles with him becoming Mr India, Her becoming Seemaji and discussed Khoobsoorati with and without moustache and the hat. I am literally just open mouthed that I am a seeing a smiling RK engaged in a very ordinary chat without any kind of attitude. So what was that ?  And The Calender had to again break the moment. But they allow their TRIO partner in. He has to be, after all HE is THEIR Chaheta.

Rest of it...

RK's staring and amused expressions at Dipali were notable. Very much like...as if she is the only One Bhatia whom he actually responds to. He was answering, "Maine to Kuch Poocha hi Nahin". Fine that remark was necessary from plot point otherwise viewers would have failed to see that "Chor Machaye Shor" thing. But still...okay I will relax. Rittuji were so happy to see Dips hand in the Kissa, like Ab Tum Haath Aayi.

And yes, I am with Sona (Gurtiluv), Madhu unable to eat with her hand was a bit too much. I know its gets difficult, it hurts around the place they insert the needle. My hand was swollen and it hurt a lot. But here, why it was a bit too much and unconvincing because, they show us her lifting her hands, braiding her hair and all that...fine hands got tired, but you know what for a 20 minute episode, CVs should curtail creating confusing scenes in split seconds as viewer cannot easily switch themselves off from X minute to X+1 minute scene if context is same.

Finally the Precap Scene...Its like another Stream of Consciousness...between dream and reality.

*************
Peach, Bindu,

B+ is not bad at all. I always like B+ movies best. Coz they are healthy and smooth for me. Easy. Its a B+ because it is above average and entertaining and logically built, but not much of the drama was originally inspiring as never seen before kind except few lines by RK and Madhu. And the concept of ...Commemoration of Indian Cinema always stays in my mind...so lot of it has to be inspired by filmi content,

The anti climax moments after KC night was expected. RK cannot lose his character and become lovey dovey, they already hinted that yesterday in the epic episode where the relationship was actually getting a meaning. RK acknowledges it through...Majboori Mein haat Pakda hai...to saath dena zaroori hai ...kind of dialogue. We love it because that is what he is.

The washroom banter takes the cake for me...as I was really getting uncomfortable that she wanted to walk to washroom alone in that fainting, or just out of bed dizzy state. What if she falls ? Aren't we always escorted, atleast to stand just outside the washroom... And nothing better to take advantage of the husband and wife relationship. Easily allowable in a prime time soap with ill-wife being cared by husband excuse...maze ka mazaa aur izzat bhi rakh li patient care ke naam par.

The loop closing scenes - dori tying...good one. Another Mauke ka Faayda Uthana by CVs.  The other day I was watching Big Bang...Penny meets with an accident .. with broken arm, they made an excellent scene with Sheldon having to dress her up...ROFL. The unimaginable things happen when one is ill.

But the feeding scene and Mr India contexual was repetitive for me. I was like...so they have to repeat this...You know for romance, you like that and it had lot of meaning to it for Madhu...but it won't sit in the memory for long time as nothing was original about it and the context of feeding was forced on viewer, albeit a lot better than RK wetting Madhu. In wetting scene, desire was shown, and here today it was level of comfort was shown. Normally Madhu steals/uses RK's dialogues, today RK manipulated his Biwi's original act and used. It was nice to see role reversal, but somewhere the smiling RK became too sweet to be believed. Because, if he is like this, then he better start acting doggy with wife, which I doubt CVs will do it. Doggy means...The famous way of looking at men and women...men are dogs and women are cats.
In contrast, I have to again explain...when I look at Penny and Sheldon scene at the end in the same episode I am talking about ..Penny makes Sheldon sing Sweet Kitty, Pretty Kitty song just like he made her sing when he was sick. It was another Dharti Gol scene for Penny and Sheldon...but here it was hilarious...It was like Penny did that !!!! Good for you Sheldon! You deserve that. And Sheldon is like this MOUSE...who is ALL baffled and yet he sings because he has to as he promised to be nice and take care of her. For comedy that scene between two diverse personalities is FUN, it goes into our memory as OMG!!!...for a romantic story between RK and Madhu...It was little better than okay but not outstanding as Madhu's scene was when had to do it for RK. Because we were never unhappy about that to have it repeated. An ecstacy cannot be recreated.

When they made Madhu copy RK's dialogues in hospital when bandaging his hand, it was remarkable to me...because she couldn't even finish it for the feeling she felt in heart... When we remember RK and his attitude when he said that we understand his concern and when we watched Madhu doing the same, we feel her pain. So the second bettered over the first, but second would not have existed anyways if the first did not happen.
Such thing did not happen for me today in the Mr.India copy.

Okay so I also had to pause the episode to ask everyone do ivies really give you that much pain the way Madhu couldnt even eat her food on her own. I mean I was on a glucose ivy after surgery once andI dont really rememberhurt maybe because I was drugged up after surgery that couldnt feel anything or dont remember because I spent most of the time sleeping due to drugs they put me on. I understand Madhu is weak right now due to food poisoning but I feel there overduing things a bit.
Sorry, I couldn't resist replying to this. It actually really hurts. Atleast for me it did. I can't speak for all. But in my case, my hand swelled up within hours and I couldn't get a grip on things properly. It was my right hand and my mom had to feed me. I guess the pain varies from person to person but it happens.

I gues it does vary but thnx for replying!

My hand also was swollen around the needle inserted portion. It hurt bad for me.  But here in the episode, the CVs were not consistent with showing pain and the timing. Since all viewers do not understand medical/clinical conditions, they could have shown someone else braiding her hair or leaving it open for one goddamn day !!! Wacko Do they have to braid it like a uniform ...saree to baal kholo, Suit to choti banao D'oh

i never felt any pain drip lagake but then tht was the effect of painkillers may be...the main question is , how can RK remove tht drip  needle so easily Shocked woh tape thodi na thi..if the patient has to go the washroom then drip is taken with him...

The glucose bottle was finished long back in the night. So he removed it. Yes removing the needle is difficult. But I guess some men like RK can remove. They made us perceptively see that he was removing it.  Recently at this US hospital, when I went to complain to the nurse (for my husband's drip) that there is no flow at all, she grumpily came (it was end of her shift time and she had lot of paperwork to finish) and she corrected it and looked at me hard and said, "And you can't fix that ?"

I didn't mind her scolding, because I am dumb around all kinds of gadgets that have nozzles, screws, levers. I was sure a more skilful person than me would have known how to adjust the drip rate. Removing needle is scary...OMG. But then again doable, as my mom plucked it out when she was irritated. LOL

This happened to me also. The nurse looked at me and asked the same question. It was for my daughter  so I was little scared and I told her that. LOL

managed to catch the episode early today:)

Another delightful episode replete with heart-warming Rishbala moments and the show-down to Dipz pardafash...

RK's over-protectiveness towards Madhu was the highlight of the episode.. Be it the washroom incident or in the kitchen(ordering Neha for her b'fast-he actually remembered she likes peeled apples) or he wanting to find the reason for her food-poisoning...

RK can't see his Biwi as a weak gileri and always wants to see her as the strong, superwoman Madhubala... He always succeeds in bringing out the sherni in her even when she is in pain/ sadness. He distracts himself and her to not think about her pain using his strongest weapon, viz,his tongue

His "Haath pakda hai to saath rehna zaroori hai " and "haath chodne se raha" dialogue was to reiterate(atleast for me) that he will not let her go anywhere away from him... It actually reminded of his dialogue to Roma after his marriage " mera wajood ko mere se ukhad ke phek sakte ho lekin madhu ka haath mere haath se kabhi nikal nahi payenge" (This was one hell of a bhari dialogue by him)
[SD]: What an analogy. Smile That was intense though. This was just hilarious. And Madhu makes him relieve her hand. LOL

Finally, he tied the doriDancing I was actually thinking yeh banda nahin karega and when neha came, i was sure that he wouldn't do it but he surprised me:):) The way he was looking at her thro' the mirror when confidently tying the dori was such a far-cry when he failed to do it last time... Shows how much they have progressed in their r'ship.

Zindagi dharti se inspired hai: The Mr. India scene was so cute and adorable... It gave Madhu immense happiness to know that RK remembers her antics...

A few days back, he had told her that theirs was a dimaag se juda rishta and no emotions but today he went onto acknowledge that her nakhras(eating food, washroom incident)and as such anything potentially affecting her is a source of worry for him...

Rk nursegiri se bahar nikla nahi ke detectivegiri par pohanch gayaLOL Had it been himself, he would not have cared but the person in question was Madhu and he vowed to get to the bottom of all this..
[SD]: sahi. Maine bhi aisa hi kuch likha apne review main

Dipali sort of dug her own grave by opening that mouth of hers:)
[SD]: true

RK and Madhu always put each other before themselves and that is what I totally love about them... Madhu was ill but still she never failed to ask him as to why he slept on the chair in such an uncomfortable posture and then when he told her to have b'fast, she went onto enquire about his...

[SD]: Good manners they are stemming from Motherly qualities.

RK-Madhu's love story is by far the most beautiful story i have seen on Indian television till now... The gradual development of their relationship, slow and steady growth in their intimacy and complete understanding of each other is absolutely wonderful...You can actually feel their love...Kudos to the entire team of Madhubala for this...

Zoya,

Loved your review. I am grinning wide like an idiot here. Okay now I am laughing at me being the idiot. LOL Chalo let me go and bolden the parts that I liked best in your review.

Btw...Madhu repeated her dress. She wore this blue dress in her Maayke ke trip mein pahla din ...
