The Spat, The Slap, The Exercise, The Preparation, The Dinner, The Conference, The Warning. Who rules the roost ?
Events of the Episode
- The Ex-Husband is royally shown the door by Ex-Biwi, asked to keep his voice low and warned never ever dare to come to her place and treat her as someone who can be used as his punching bag. The Ex-Husband leaves but turns back to warn her that she will regret one day for not telling him the secret that she is so gaurding now.
- The mother and Ex-Saasuma Padmini has overheard the critical portion of her daughter hiding something. As she enquires Madhu, and Madhu informes her, Padmini slaps her for being so callous and unwise to get involved with underworld people and for which she has been lying from two nights. Madhu says its all because of the young boy Aryan who is really angel in that bad world. Padmini warns Madhu to stay away from the underworld people and Madhu agrees.
- Sultan is exercising. He is making his son exercise too. With dumbbells. His old man cringes. Aryan shows pain, but Sultan is relentless. The old man throws a little bit of light on Sultan that he has come from outside territory and that on the night (when Madhu witnessed the shootout), he had mostly killed everyone and those who are felt would not think of striking him. It is also informed to the viewers that Sutlan is known to Police, but the do not know how he looks.
- RK is also exercising, as in boxing. He is recollecting everthing that Madhu said in Chawl. He asks his assistant cum manager to find out about the man.
- Bhujang Shashtri is introduced. He is another gangster. Doesn't look a straight guy who can take Sultan's command. But the don's conference goes on with all business being discussed. When it comes to Bhujang Shashri's turn, he mentions drugs are better than diamonds and he wants to venture into that. Sultan is angry and takes him inside for pvt conference to speak his mind...He douses BS' head in water and asks him to remember Rule Number 1 that no drugs when working along with him. Episode ends...To be continued tomorrow.
My Episode Take
Sultan's power is finally displayed to us, by making Bhujang Shastri suffer for it. LOL!! The other day I was reminding Preet...that easiest way to make something bigger or smaller is have another party/object with same properties be created, but should be managed in magnitude. Courtesy...Akbar-Birbal story. Where Akbar asks Birbal to diminish a line without erasing it. Birbal takes a chalk and draws a bigger line than the first one. The first one becomes comparitively smaller.
So the drama of contrasts continues. Contrasts, Contrasts and contrasts everywhere.
Sultan is the good don. Doesn't want drug traffikking business. Bhujang is bad don and wants drugs, which is easy money than diamonds. Bhujang is going to be sworn enemy of Sultan but has to unfortunately obey him. RK is now is going to be Sultan's target as RK has stepped on Sultan's "Dukhti Rag"... yeah that precap scene..:)) I can talk about it tomorrow in a better way.
They had to show VD's physique today, as we all started doubting if he still has his body intact before all these dons and Bhais. LOL. Had to show him boxing his punching bag. How many months gone??!!! The last time I saw it was in August, the morning after he weds Madhu. :)
Body-wise...Sultan is far ahead than RK. Let's see aage aur kya hoga. Now all these men are crazy. Sultan, Bhujang and RK.
See Sultan saw the martyr streak in Madhu. She now doesn't need any gun etc to protect Aryan. She will go anytime anywhere to save him. She nearly promised Padminij that she will never go to those people and yet she is talking to the kid. Doesn't this girl understand, Aryan is a kid...fine, BUT, a BIG BUT that is a DON's (Killer's - coz she saw him killing people) Son. Hasn't she watched movies that once involved with underworld, cannot easily wash your hands off them. Seriously she watched only Mr.India ???!! Whatever, Madhu is again going against her Mom's wish. This girl goes for wrong things...Padmini kinda showed it and yet asked Madhu to use her own discretion giving that respect to her "coming of age". But Madhu kahaan seekhegi. If she is going to stay away, kahaani kaise aage badhegi...Poor Madhu, the CVs always use her to make her do mistakes to drive the story. She just became instrumental in having RK and Sultan become enemies. And RK is one "Ullu ka Patthha" (owl's kid) who has to go after Madhu. Why can't he stay away from her. He is just an idiot !!!!!
But first things first, I need to know, what is the second rule that Sultan follows for his underworld business. First was no drugs...trying to break that almost got death's taste for Bhujang.
Did I fear Sultan today ? No. But yes, he did come across as Emotional Don. He is powerful and yet has baggage. Probably he had a brother who died of taking drugs.
The sidekicks of these bosses were cool. Bittuji My Man !! stood by his Chief. So did Kaka/Ramu kaka/can they khulasa his name besides Sultan.
Sultan is harsh to his son..

Today for the first time, I felt really moved by Aryan - when I watched him lifting weights, I thought of his tender muscles and arms trying to lift weights and it hit me really hard, at how little happiness he's had till now.
The whole effect of Aryan eating alone in that giant table, Bhujang questioning him, everything had the desired effect - a morbid vicious world that this child has been thrust into.

Weren't the King's children sent to hermitage in olden days until their education is complete ? This is true for Ramayan and true for Mahabharat. They were staying away from parents.
And Sachin Tendulkar, since very young he was practicing in stadium after school. When it became difficult for his parents to manage the commute between their house and his stadium for practice, his parents shifted him to his uncle's house which was closer to school or stadium.
Sachin credits all his success to his family, his father, brothers, but above all to his mother (who sacrificed lot of things for him and his passion for cricket, his aunt and finally his wife). He was saying he used to eat a lot...having that kind of food ready was sometimes tough on his working mom, but she managed it. Biological needs, emotional understanding and realizing ambitions. Its a teamwork of harwork and sacrifices. Nothing comes easy in life.

Shri, I agree you need to learn and toughen up, but there's an age for everything. A normal kid can't do weights till 14, so subjecting a 4/5 yr old to it is harmful.
The kings children were sent, but under great teachers/sages etc. They lived in a safe and relatively peaceful environment.
In case of Aryan, I can understand that his dad is doing it for his survival and success. Not questioning a dad's judgement. The sadness is for the fact that definition of success in this child's life will be so far removed from anything good or human..

Kodai , I slightly disagree with you...kids are like geeli mitti..you can mould them in any way...normally parents give a very sheltered and pampered upbringing to their children..we're so concerned for our kids that they don't eat street food, don't drink water from taps but tell me, the kids who live in slums, aren't they alive? in summers we don't step out of our AC rooms but few people who live on roads have nowhere to escape the heat...the body and mind gets adapted to the surroundings...Sultan is only giving him physical training...this is no child abuse in my opinion..if he was not concerned for his child, he wouldn't have risked his safety and brought Madhu for him

Sorry to barge in. I kind of didn't like this part either. I remember seeing a documentary on a kid in US who has a physique of a bodybuilder. I mean his father has been doing exactly what was shown of Sultan doing to Aryan today. The kid was so messed up in mind and I felt bad for him then. So, guess there is a time and limit for everything. A kid needs time to grow up. You cannot put a gun on his head and make him grow up in a day. But I agree that Sultan does love his kid but he has no idea about good parenting.

charu, I am not saying he's abusing his child. He's doing what he thinks is best. He's moulding his son to be a future don- and that's why I feel sad for this child. He will adapt to his surroundings and become strong, ruthless and violence will be part of his daily life.

Okay I did not know about those details.
And yet kids can go for judo/karate and all...I read Akshay Kumar's son was becoming a national champion in karate/judo something like that...before he reached 10. Akshay personally takes care of his son's schedule.
I am just positing an anti - opinion here. As the scene went by...Yes, they will show through Madhu as spokesperson that Sultan is being tough on the kid, especially as something dramatically will happen...but am also saying that all athletes, dancers, sportspersons etc have tough exercise regime with actually themselves bleeding badly in literal sense. But if one were to fear all that, sports se door rahna chaahiye.
I remember ...this kabaddi game that I used to play in school. I was never that strong to play... and it is a game purely about physical prowess...and how my sports teacher used to look at me in total derison for my fumbling idiotic attempt. He used to mock me so much...but I used feel more competitive each time he mocked...I used to try my best until I learned to accept that I am never going to be good in sports and just stick to academics. But it felt such a disappointment for me to see my PT Sir nod his head in total frustration at my weak attempts. Honestly speaking sports/physical exercise is equally important for personality development.
In my IV standard (I was 9 years), I had a class mate with polio handicap...His two legs had become useless and so he had to use his hands to walk. But that boy was far from anything as a handicap...he used to raise racket with his naughty jokes. Entire class, never had a moment to see him as a handicap case. And over the playground...as he continued with me into higher grades, I used to see him playing as Goal Keeper for Boys Football. I think the spirit kicks in to live life in a compensating manner for the so called have-nots. That's real life for me.
I am not a very soft person when it comes to parenting...sorry about that.I don't like you being sad and sympathetic for that kid's condition. Sorry, but who needs pity, when one needs survival skills in tough world.

Shri, I totally get your point. In fact, I admire parents who are rigorous in training their child as it's very difficult to do - it requires great determination, discipline and love. Just the end result for toughening up Aryan is not good.

Kodai,
First off...This topic is totally episode related. We are not talking out of the blue. What was shown in the episode has raked in my memories, riled up your emotions, how is this digression. Girls, you need to get smarter than this. Seriously.
Secondly...Answer from Hinduism...Children are born to Rakshas as well. God Protects them as well. Its karma, fate, nothing we can do about. Our religion tells ...learn to get away from PAIN and PLEASURE...Attain Salvation as that is reality. Answer from Occident Modern theories - Read Naturalist or existential philosophies of life. Its like economics. Some have to take that unwanted position and exist.
Why Madhu got that slap from Padmini and yet doesn't seem to understand where she is wrong.

Madhu has never been righteous, etc,etc..Plz do not add any kind of oh-so-noble adjectives to her character and get confused!!!
Madhu decides to focus on something and she goes about achieving it plainly, bluntly, obtusely... she does not think about the pro's and con's, why's, what's, how's , which!!!!! And she uses something that is just staring right at her face...
Be it sending RK to jail, instilling RK's faith in Bappa, RK-Radha milaap, and now Aryan... She has attached herself to Aryan and so doing everything she feels is good and right to Aryan!!! I did not perceive her not going to the cops to protect RK or family or whatever!!! And family takes a backseat when she goes on her little missions... I failed to see it that way today... If she really did it for RK, then may be her future actions would shed light on it...
Am not saying she is bad or that her intentions are not good but that's just the way she is...
Actually I liked it that she did not go to the cops... If I was in her place, I would have done the same and told Padmini that superstar se panga leke yahan pahunch gayi ab main kyun don aur gundon se panga loon... I really don't know if Madhu actually learnt anything from it or not
Responded by myself
Zoya,
I agree with you. I too did not see her protecting RK or her family. At this point it is all about her ego and her needs. Ego cannot be always called bad. Ego is the driving force of the expressed personality. Madhu had become a dead-pan person with RK's jilt. All we could see was pain on her face as if trying to understand, how such hate can exist in anyone (according to her understanding) so much that they don't see love, and go on crushing hearts.
In her present depressed state of mind, where she is being consciously forced to come to understand reality as something else than what she thinks from her heart, she happened to see this innocent kid. That kid is something her heart understands and she is naturally feeling comfortable to bond with. Now in her weak mind (remember she is depressed), she has added extra energy to bond with the kid to show herself that her principles were never wrong, that her thinking from heart was not wrong, that she never made any mistake...because ultimately, when confidence takes a blow, its ego which is hit...and hence ego starts fighting back. Madhu therefore is protecting her bond with that kid because it means her survival. That is why if you see, from her return from Sultan's place, she is effectively able to answer RK, with lot of clarity.
Yesterday, pnars made a fun post of Madhu as fairy mother with RK and Aryan as two kids. Honestly it was not a fun post. It was a bible. Because that is the truth. Madhu was attracted to RK the man, but she bonded with RK the kid as well and mistook him that this is the real person inside him. Probably she is right, probably she is wrong...but her need is to be matron. I think Charu called her Mother Teresa. We think she joked...but honestly that is her truth. Madhu has this innate need in her character to take care of people...that is a morbid trait in her ...if we call RK suffering from borderline personality disorder...even Madhu morbidly wants to lay down her life in pouring life into some other vulnerable person. And her biggest problem is she is not wise at all. So it is like God had given a golden heart to her but took away sense from her and hence her miserable choices. Because...just compare Madhu with Padmini...Padmini too is angel...but she is not ill-advised by her mind. She knew when to be afraid of her evil husband, when to run away and when to shoot...unlike Madhu, who was smiling even hanging from noose when RK was fighting the goons.
What I am trying to explain is ...yes she does need to believe that she was right in loving RK and it was wrong of RK to have spurned that love...so now she has found another mission, where she can show to herself that loving is infact magic...this is the reason, she lectures Sultan and openly offers her help with the price tag of Please from him.
Her lashing out at RK...is just spewing out her pain...it will go on until she forgets all the reasons why she loved him...and in my opinion, this is actually good...She needs to have find a balance...and another IMO...she is mentally far removed from Padmini at this stage...out of fear she seems to agree with her, but actually her ego will not allow her to agree with Padmini coz Padmini in one or the other way reminds her of her hurt and whereas Madhu wants none to remind her anything about RK...coz only she has that right to recall.

madhu needs to trade the pepper spray for a fly swatter...rk is everywhere she turns just bugging!

Syl, I had a similar kind of feeling for RK, I said in my review, "And RK is one "Ullu ka Patthha" (owl's kid) who has to go after Madhu. Why can't he stay away from her. He is just an idiot !!!!!"
But ofcourse, because I I feel he is better off without Madhu (atleast not the current version of Madhu), and if he stays away from her, the biggest screw-up that ever happened for each laying his/her eyes on the other, it can be permanently fixed.
But alas!!! I heard that even Zoya's mom said that she cannot watch the show if there is no RIshbala. She said, she ain't watching any gangster story.
Now what do we do ????!!!! How do we fix the fly problem ????!!!

and i feel madhu is better off with out rk...we are a minority shri...the fly situation will only escalate
...hmm what is good for keeping flies away????

Totally agree with you there.
The fly situation has indeed escalated. All of a sudden it has become a swarm. Now shall we call them flies or the locusts
??? Good idea though with the repellent solution.

What can't RK do? Acting, painting, boxing, sculpting, .. Did I miss any more talents?

RK was shown to be interested in motorbikes.
You missed seeing his library. You can see this Behind the scene introduction to RK mansion where VD will show you RK's hobbies and life-style.
Sherlock Holmes ...was an interesting fictional character. Passionate about chemical experiments and analysis. Could go to any lengths as change his garb and act with high energy if he had something for his brain to work on, not eat for days, if he needed his brain to be alert and not turn lazy due to the food intake, drug himself for days if he was bored and nothing to do, not even an interesting chemical experiment. Other than that he was good boxer and had great combat skills. People like them just live on their nervous energy.
