Episode Events
- The fight/nag between Padmini, Trishna and Shamsher continues. Trishna reminds Padmini all the good things that Shamsher did for them. Trishna then accuses Padmini that she used Shamsher. Shamsher slaps Trishna at this insensitive comment. He asks Trishna to apologize to Padmini but she does not.
- There Madhu sets out from RK Mansion to come to Padmini's house. She meets Radhaji on the way out and has to tell her where she is going and why. Rads asks Madhu to give her apology to Padmini and that she is happy that RK is coming to her mom's house for luncheon.
- Madhu reaches Chawl. Is apprehensive of the whole trip with her reminiscing under what circumstances she had been here last time (Shamsher getting caught for attempting to kill RK). Meets Padmini is happy. Shamsher sees her, is happy and avoids to be seen as promised to Padmini. She gets ready to prepare lunch for RK.
- At RK mansion, RK is getting ready and accidentally pulls Madhu's dupatta, the one she had worn when he had splashed water on her. He starts remembering other endearing scenes with her. In these lovely moments, he is disturbed by the wiley Dips Bhatia. RK is as usual angry and they have a hate-taunt conversation where Dips taunts that RK is lost in someone's thoughts, at which RK says, its his wife, and if she has any problems and asks her to get out. Dips snubs him saying why just from room, if he had asked her to leave from the world, she would have left. RK is shown leaving the house all in huff. Bittuji tries to stop him, but Radhaji stops him telling him that RK is going to Madhu's place.
- There at Chawl, its 3 PM and still there is no sign of RK. Madhu is calling him and Bittuji and either of them is not answering her calls. Seeing her impatience, Padmini asks her to calm down. In her excitement Madhu lets out that she wanted her to meet Rishabh/Rishu whom Madhu loves. Padmini tells her she already knew that both Madhu and RK love each other in their own manner.
- To interfere them Trishna comes. In jealous rage, she tells Madhu that she is disillusioned and that RK does not love her and still seeking revenge. That Padmini no longer lives with Shamsher. And then she curses Madhu for bringing all bad on Maliks and Padmini in her selfishness about RK, that she may never be happy in her pursuits of happiness with RK. Madhu is aghast and leaves the place in all tears.
My take.
It was sad to see the turn of events like this. First I need to calm myself down in a long ramble.
Story of seriously flawed characters. Are they going to let the characters redeem themselves of their flaws or is the flaw going to be a doom for them ? Like Madhu's premonition yesterday...The tragic flaw in each of them is going to create a tragedy for them.
A tragedy is okay for a drama. Not for a soap. But then I am wrong. Soaps are always about tragedies and glycerine. So I guess that is the theme of MEIEJ...Shridevi...Time to rethink. You don't like tragedies.

Most Hindu people fulfil their actions through their name meanings as their parents elders name them with the beej Akshar as given by the Pandit/astrologer who draws the horoscope of the kid at the time of birth.
- Rishabh - means Original Lord, Musical Note "Re" in SaptSvar, Morality, Superior, Also the Bull of the Astrology Rashis...
- Madhu - Honey, Sweet Intoxicating Drink, nectar
- Trishna - longing, thirst, craving, desire, greed
- Deepali - array of lamps.
The first three give meaning to their actions.

Not Deepali. So how should I find meaning for her, purpose behind her existence ? A series of lamps to cause combustion ??? Nah...doesn't make sense.
Coming to flaws.
- Rishabh - Bull that he is ...refuses to budge. Refuses to accept. Refuses to let it go.
- Madhu - Like the intoxicated drink she is, always surrounded by Madhu Makhis. It gives pleasure when consumed. It is tragedy in itself.
- Trishna - Where will her craving lead to ? A Marichika ? A Mirage ? A meaningless existence in itself.
Anyways things that I expected to happen in the episode:
- RK coming out of his Madhu-spell as soon as anyone he hates gets in contact with him in Madhu's absence, when her aura is not around him. One contact with Dipali was enough to pollute his sanctity. Such is the power of negative vibration. RK is not healed and strong enough to stay unaffected from negative energy. Mothers keep a Kaala teeka to infacts and toddlers to protect them from dark souls and negative energies as infants and toddlers are unprotected and vulnerable to good and evil spirits alike as their mind is undeveloped and unable to discern good from bad. Toh koi RK ko kaala teeka laga de, ya phir kaala dhage baandhe so that this dark spot/band protects the host through a counter to invading dark energies. Better RK does it himself. Go to Tirupati and get that black Vishnu thread and tie on your wrist.
Like Ekta Kapoor has.
- Madhu needed to be at home to preserve her happiness and RK's too. She needed to protect it. But she went out of sanctity providing house and exposed herself to evil eyes. All in her excitement to share something with her Mother that too so prematurely. Koi Madhu ki Nazar utaare...or better Madhu learn to do it herself.
Things that I did not expect to happen.
Trishna cursed her sister...to have misfortunes in what all she wishes.
Am I to feel anything ? NOPE !!! For I am a believer in positive and negative energies around us that make us or destroy us. She was potent negative energy as long as she did not say it. Now that she has declared it aloud, its done. Now its in the hands of Madhu how she wants to counter all that. Madhu reject it or accept it. All with your mind power.
Point to note: -This is the second time Madhu has been sent away from her house by Trishna.
Madhu - cursed from her birth...by her father, fate and now sister. How far she is going to run away from her fate of not to have happiness of her desire and be the cause of fury to others, be the cause of ruin to others. Fine she is being the spoke for all other souls, but what kind of fate is this to be a spoke. And she has this star crossed love also to deal with...
Isn't it like, Madhu having a Trishna for small pleasures that land her into nothing but a mirage, an illusion, something different from what she wants to see. And what if she makes these illusions as her reality and finds pleasures in them ? Making it all a Surreal Experience for her.
Oh! more than RK love confession, I want Madhu to see her real Dad from whom she inherited this fate of hers. I want Madhu come face to face with her father first. Leave Rishabh for now Madhu. Time to deal with your family first, your heritage; if you don't want to be a ill-fated girl but chart out your own destiny.

I was wondering as usual, what were the dominant rasas today. I find it is Bhayanaka and Karunya. Yes, I felt those emotions in great dozes.
What must have transpired between Dips and RK
Well, may be as everyone thinks that writers did not show what transpired between Dips and RK. But I am tempted to believe that RK saw Dipali to the same extent as we saw. Infact if you all see, yesterday and today, she is not taking too much of screen space and not having too many dialogues. Yet she looks deadly. That's because, the arrogant bitch is gone and the hurt bitch is in. She is now careful with words. She is now insulated from others taunts as she knows she had been exposed. That's where she got the edge. Rads could not but forgive her. Such was Dips smooth tongue. If I was in Rads place, I too would have had to succumb to do that. And back in RK's room, there two things that made RK leave the room in a huff. Dips negative energy was already too much, infact far too pervading and RK was feeling that just like we felt. He could see the jealous and loser Dips and he wanted to slight her in anger as usual, so he takes out proudly Madhu's name. Normally he is sarcastic of Dips own actions and failures, but here he did not slight Dips through her failings but he became vain and exposed himself and Madhu on the same hurt subject of love where once Dips had wounded him. Bad !! RK it was mad move !!!! That's when he realizes that he exposed himself to Dips again. In his sweet memories of Madhu and that sweet mood, he said he was lost in Madhu's thoughts.
But getting a different response from Dips rather than her usual, why Madhu and not me, Dips left a remark on him..."What did you ask...if you had asked me to leave this world, I would have done even that". Her claim is false, even RK knows that...but it was enough to make him come out of his cozy feelings around Madhu and to realize that he needs to buckle up again, himself, both for him and Madhu. I could feel that...so much. So far RK has protected Madhu against everything evil and bad that he knows and understands. In that seclusion between RK and Dips...there was lot of hurt that RK had and which he had not yet addressed. That's why he left in huff. Not that Dipali did something. But angry because Dipali could drive away his beautiful thoughts around Madhu. I felt he was just angry with himself how he got weakened so easily and why did he have to proudly flaunt Madhu instead of protecting her as usual. Because honestly RK need not have answered Dips that he was lost in Madhu's thoughts, unless he felt as if that was going to wound Dips. So that was a characteristic weakness, which RK will not forgive himself for using Madhu-ammunition to hurt Dips.
Hope I am making sense. Its a nagging subliminal feeling I had towards the scene. It won't go away. This was grey.
And Trishna cursing Madhu. I was aghast in seeing Trishna cross all limits of family bonding. But then I was so relieved that her poison was out. Yes, like Priya said, RK is enough for her. But then this should be Madhu's battle with Trishna.
Today RK and Madhu both were facing their nagging past in the form of Dipali and Trishna. Vestigeal relationships they are and yet they have become the toxic appendix for either of them. Both RK and Madhu left their stations in huff to escape these negative forces. But I had the comfort to see RK partially realizing that he needs to address something to gain balance ...and what is it ...he is yet to know the answer for. He just doesn't how yet...
And I was pained to see Madhu, yet again in tears and proudly leaving the place. But Madhu, for once instead of just thinking Trishna did something wrong and you as sister need to forgive her, can you actually do something about it ? Because Madhu, the curse is not on you, the curse is on your RK too. Along with you he too got the curse. Do you realize that he needs to be protected now ?
There is not yet beginning from the ashes as I wrote in my prior review. I am just hoping that this new track is about both RK and Madhu burning their past of the vestigeal organs that gives them hurt and from those ashes, make new beginnings for each other. Part of their journey needs to be solo as it is their individual battle with Dips and Trishna and how they can get the ammunition to fight is through their knowledge that each has exposed the other to the wrath of these two women and hence their responsibilty to protect the other.
The need for Rishbala Love confession or rather the track as it plays on...
I had a feeling today...if Madhu should go and tell RK, how Trishna cursed their happiness. As a wife could she not share ? Yes she could. Then I thought...Madhu's pride, self-esteem will not allow her to tell all that to her husband. No self-respecting woman would want to tell these things to her husband about her family. She becomes charged to deal the problems herself rather than involve her husband.Because she cannot see either of the parties degrading the other. I heard my mom telling me her stories around these and I understand the mythological stories of self-respecting women like Sati and Parvati.
You know what after watching today's episode and after my two takes, I am actually at peace. Because mentally I want both RK and Madhu to deal with their individual problems rather than trying to make love for each other a big deal now, though that love for each other is the "Bone of Contention" for outsiders. So when the whole world is "Dholpeeting" and cursing them unhappiness, it actually makes sense for both of them atleast to acknowledge to each other why Duniya is "dhol peeting". So they make known the truth to each other and respectively go on with their lives. They are not going to go asunder how bad their confession turns out because, each of their partner has been targeted and cursed in their love and that won't go well with them. So united they will become against the Duniya in their love bond and not 4-phera bond of marriage this time. This positive energy needs to win over the negative energies this time.
Others Take -
By Tanu on Padmini-Shamsher and the unresolved things of past.
It was the Maliks day today! I am glad that they decided to shift focus to unresolved things.
Trishna taking on Padmini again for Malik gets a thumbs up from me. Malik deserved his daughter standing up for him. That gets me to my doubt' Roma stays separately? In the same chawl? Then doesn't it make more sense for Padmini, and her kids to stay with Roma instead of Malik? In that case Malik didn't have to sleep out.
My heart went out to Malik when he promised Padmini to stay out when Madhu comes home. His longing for his daughter as he watched her was heart wrenching. He didn't even allow himself the luxury of watching her for a while longer. ..he couldn't risk being spotted. Probably that is why I was disappointed in the way Madhu felt when she stepped into the chawl and her rant about feeling 'ajeeb'. I wish they had shown Madhu in a conflict by making her remember Malik as a doting father along with scenes unveiling him as the culprit. I still maintain when RK was given more than a fair chance to amend his ways after almost killing a man in a drunken state, manipulation and abuse... why not Malik? Even Balraj is honoured with a karvachauth vrat! I don't understand Madhu and Padmini on that front.
I have been saying this all the time... RK and Madhu have to visit their past and set things right before they move on to build a future together. And no better time than now when both of them are to admit their emotions. I am glad Trishna and Dipali brought in that reality check. Wonder what Dipali told him... if it gets him to do some soul searching I will be glad.
I thought Trishna had valid things to say today... but she ruined it all by meaning ill for her little sister. Her anger is understandable' RK entry into their lives did bring a storm along and left behind destruction... which is yet to be addressed. But to curse someone, let alone your younger sister was downright disgusting. I don't want the cvs to turn her into a vamp

on Trishna
Today's episode was a high-voltage drama with Trishna at the focal center.
Madhu ne apne hi paon par kulhadi mar li.. She was happily living with RK with their nok-jhok's and khatte-meethe moments but then she had to come to the chawl and spoil all of it... Poor Girl! For her, sirf ishq is not an aag ka dariya, her equation with every character looks like an aag ka dariya only except Padmini..
Malik- My heart went out to him today when he was watching Madhu from afar resigned to the fact that he has to pay for his deeds..
Dipali- She is such a sly, cunning woman! I didn't get half as angry with Trish as I was with Dipali... She poisons RK (which is not shown) and RK walks away in a huff.
Padmini-Madhu: Madhu confesses that she has fallen in love with RK and that she wanted her to meet him.. Pads says she has already seen Rishabh and that he also has feelings for her...Their relationship is more of a friendship. Madhu needs a staunch supporter like Padmini who will never judge her for her actions or decisions yet provide her the resilient strength when needed..
Trishna: -Kitna zeher bhara hua hai uske dil mein aur awaaz mein...
She reminds Padmini of all the sacrifices Malik has done for her and her daughter which is accepted.. But she went on to say that Padmini has used Malik for her selfish reasons was unacceptable and she truly deserved a slap. And then comes her equation with Madhu- She mouths the usual ghisa-pita dialogue that all their misfortunes are b'coz of Madhu and goes on to curse that she would never be happy in her love, marriage and RK leaving a bitter taste in my mind... Though we all know that its going to be full of thorns, does she have to explicitly say that!!!!
Trishna's failed dreams, aspirations(actress and RK) coupled with plain jealousy towards Madhu that she is getting to lead a luxurious life and that everyone from Pads to Malik prioritizes Madhu has made her into a kadwi person... The only consolation is that she is coming out in the open and not harboring those in the recesses of her heart... So for now, i wouldn't call her evil, just a bitter person whose dreams have been harshly shattered some due to her own bearings and some to destiny...
Do we all need a love confession at this point of time? I am totally against it!!! It can wait...

On Love Confession Track
RK-Madhu-Dipali:
Dipali's actions till now have always been directed towards RK and he in turn has always used Madhu as a shield giving rise to the competition/ rivalry feeling within her.. So till now she was like why her and not me. But now, things have changed drastically between RK and Madhu and Dipali has understood that she has lost the battle and senses the love between the two and hence her change in tactics.
Yesterday was not the first time that Madhu has been exposed to Dipali. She was the target during the Kimam poisoning. That was the first time Madhu was not the pawn but the target. RK's damage control was to appoint someone who would monitor her activities. Yet again, Dipz has become the catalyst for his confession when he realized in y'day episode that she has changed her tactics.. Everyone at home knows that he cares for Madhu like no one before. His declaration yesterday was just a jhalak of his feelings towards Madhu exposing Madhu further to Dipali... He knows Dipali is a formidable foe and hence would use it to her advantage. There arises the need to protect Madhu. So like Shri said, the confession is going to be a part of his damage control..
Along with his confession, RK is surely going to throw a googly at Madhu and she is going to be caught unaware. Madhu's first reaction to that might not please him .. Madhu always plays RK's first ball wrongly.. But she is a quick learner and doesn't repeat mistakes when it comes to him. When he is going to revert back to his angry young man avatar, with things all not well between the two, her sister's words might again ring in her ears, acting as a catalyst, paving the way for her to stand up and amend things..
And then she has to tackle RK's over-protectiveness, which is not going to sit down well with Madhu
In short, i feel this confession is going to be her official jump into the aag ka dariya...

on Trishna, Dipali and Rishbala to face the spectres from their past
Wah - amazing posts today in this thread! To be able to take such a depressing epi and see so many nuances in it, so much to expand on - just amazing to all the lovely writers here. (That's lovely writing, I mean...no pressure, ladies and gents, to BE lovely! )
I've thought this before with this show, but even more so now as it is progressing - that this is the strangest soap I have ever seen. In spite of having all the archetypes, all the cliched ideas firmly in place, it unfurls in ways which are consistently unpredictable.
For example, look at these two vamps we have been given. It is like they are running a baton relay race. Deepali takes a lap, wreaks havoc in in the home, and then passes the baton to Trishna. Trishna, whose burning jealousy is obviously getting the better of her humanity, such as it is, verbally lashes everyone within spitting distance with her razor blade of a tongue, and then - poof - we are back with Deepali again. They don't even know each other yet they work perfectly in tandem - neither one wants Madhu to have RK, it's just that one wants him for herself while the other just wants Madhu miserable.
Jealousy is an extremely complex emotion to film, hai na? In fact, it is complex even to feel. It is horribly uncomfortable, acid in its aspect, corrosive in the extreme. I actually think, as hateful as Trishna is, and she is, they are playing her well. She is that person who, drowning in her own sense of inadequacy, wishes to stand on the head of another to keep her own above water. She doesn't realise the obvious - they will both drown.
Deepali, too, is imprisoned, she is just so much more overt in her vampiness! The actress playing her seems to know she has excellent scenery to chew, and she's doing it with gusto.
Eventually, Madhu and Rk are just going to have to stand up straight and shake these demons off of their shoulders. But for now I think they don't have that ability, so it's going to be twists and turns and MU's for us poor viewers until their characters mature, I think.
A confession of love from RK would be beautiful, but right now I think its importance would be more in the fact that he and Madhu would be a team going forward than in the fact that it is achingly romantic (which it would be!) It seems like if these two don't link arms and go forward together, there will be a plethora of forces too happy to move them ever further apart.
But, like some have said above already, it may be that Madhu must face the spectres of her past as RK has begun to do. Sometimes I think he understands her more than she does herself.

Along with Trishna and Dipali do you think RK is also jealous that the number one priority inMadhu's life is her family? I know it is mostly his insecurity with his past experience I don't for a second think he believed Dipali's poisonous word but it was his insecurity that got the best of him. Do think there is somewhat of envy in him because he never got to be the number one priority in someone's life.

Sona,
Nope. RK is not jealous of anyone. Jealousy stunts one's growth. If RK was a jealous person, he would not be rising like he rises each time in every track. He will seem to be possessive, obsessive guy until he is reassured that he is loved and treasured just the way he is. And the problem is that he is too proud to ask for it and hence will behave as if he does not want it but keeps yearning for it. And honestly Madhu is not helping him at all. Madhu is dragging him into a pit too because her emotional response is quite different to what RK needs. Madhu does not give RK any peace, she merely entangles him more. That's where his struggle to find the rational ground of how much is it a reality. So today he is after one kind of reassurance, because of Madhu's own agenda, day2 it will turn out to something else.
>>> Do think there is somewhat of envy in him because he never got to be the number one priority in someone's life.
RK wants Madhu to make him as her priority, not because of his envious need to be number 1 in someone's list. It is RK's own existential need. He created a relationship from his head. And he thinks that creation as beautiful and wants to preserve at any cost. And protecting what he considers as precious cannot be deemed as his insecurity or his inadequate feelings from his life. To him Madhu is that vested experiment of his with which he is so absorbed, that he wants it to be successful every minute of how it should be working. There is creative aspect involved from him and Madhu needs to help him per this principle, but none of it is his consuming need for purely selfish reason...in the sense that everything for him and nothing for Madhu. In the world, the relationship that he forged with Madhu, he wants either of them to achieve happiness and only that will make him happy.
>>>I don't for a second think he believed Dipali's poisonous word but it was his insecurity that got the best of him.
Are you saying this, after you read by page 6 response ? Because according to what I saw, Dips did not present any poisonous word to RK at all. I am not saying you have to agree my take, just that, we are not yet sure if that actually happened. It is ambiguous and left so by writers purposefully and so better we keep saying as possibility and not as certainty that it actually happened.

I love this quote. Really, really adore it. Because Madhu and Rk do need to do some individual demon fighting before they come back together/take on the world together. They cannot always count on the other person to do their fighting for them- it stunts their growth. At this time, Madhu has to tackle the Trishna issue, and RK has to tackle the Dips issue because they are their respestive personal demons- someone else cannot banish the ghost that haunts you-you have to do it yourself.
Excellent post Shri.
