Episode 135 Discussion: 29th Nov 2012

Ishq waala Love - Tu hi mera Maula Tu hi mera Qazi, Tere Ishq pe Main Qurbaan

Episode 135  Discussion: 29th Nov 2012

Events of the episode.
  1. Full of Rishbala moments in their bedroom, on the set and in the vanity van. Events being RK -Madhu banter about why she didn't inform him when she was going to temple and what was the need to hide with those pillows there. Conversation soon, shifts to the mehndi mark on his cheek, which he asks his beautician Biwi to fix it. She brings toothpaste and wants him to apply it for 5 minutes. Meanwhile RK notices that Madhu is hiding her hands in her dupatta. He asks her the reason and she gives some silly excuse and starts to leave. RK stops her and asks her rhetorically what if he asked her to not leave. She answers back, she would never leave. ***A beautiful moment*** with Tu hi mera maula Tu hi mera Qazi
  2. Scene shifts to Madhu eating the toxicated Sargi.
  3. Scene shifts to Studio set where RK is shooting. Another round of nice scene between RK and Madhu. Starting with why Madhu is smiling to her teasing RK with her facial exercises ruse. Then he asks why she is dogging him to his sets these days. She tries to be rhetorical saying that he increases her dhak-dhak moments ...and soon turns it into a joke that he wore the jacket inside out. He is embarassed and corrects it all except the collar. Madhu corrects that. They have a moment again only to be broken by call for the shot being ready and Madhu feeling vomitty. RK entrusts Bittuji to take care of Madhu, who takes her to the Vanity Van.
  4. Scene shifts to Vanity van, where RK notices that Madhu is not eating and her health has worsened. He calls for the doctor. And as suggested by doctor, tries to provide fluids to Madhu...first the glucose, then ors and then finally juice...which Madhu refuses all with wierd reasons. Episode ends there.

My take on the Episode

I am sure everyone liked the episode. And no one may even need my review.  So I will keep it very short.

I rate the episode A. Entertaining and emotional to watch.

I felt really wonderful about the trio. RK-Bittuji and Madhu. The trio had gone on deeper levels to understand each other. The three knew very well, each wanted the other and yet cannot have him on his side. It was like this group where two get on one side and yet feel guilty for leaving the third one out.  Oh! you should ask. Me and my friends were a Trio. How bad we used to feel when the other 2 got together and with those guilty eyes ...well me included too.

Bittuji and Madhu are way too honest with RK and also honest about their agenda. That was the reason RK was able to forgive the duo for hiding things from. He could read their expressions that they wanted him not to know. He kept asunder from them honoring their intentions, but could not when it came to Madhu's health.

I liked the boyishness of RK when he discovers "that whatever it is" daag on his face. I was so happy that they continued on my observation. The lal spot on his safed gaal. I remember my days...how we used to tease our brother applying mehndi on his face...in spots he could never suspect.

Hilarious moments were when Dips was eagerly waiting for Madhu to come and have the Sargi. To Devrani with Love ...By Jethani Dips Bhatia.

Another hilarious moment was Madhu's facial exercises dialogue on the smiles she was giving to RK.

And best part was the subdued RK, away from tease, sarcasm, just remained in his natural character before Madhu. He did not feel himself vulnerable, did not draw his tentacles out while he drew out his antennae to study Madhu. Madhu's changed behviour is now beyond mild surprise or perplexing to him, he has now a determined look in his eyes, that he knows something has changed and he is absorbing it rationally in his own way. He is once again getting better equipped to handle Madhu when he actually knows what it is in real...like him having a Gatorade !! Beautiful developments.

Anyways...as there are lot of others who can write beautifully on Rishbala scenes, I will not delve much. Personally, I like PreetD's musings when she writes on scenes such as today. She always sends me into lala land with her musings. So I will wait for her.  Others like Namz will say something that will make me happy. And Peach...I can never be sure...what she will have to say. So I will just wait for her.  Zoya, Hima...will wait for your take too. Siri...Phangurl moments for you. Did you drool enough ?  And Priya...happy for that off-white kurta ?

Make-up
RK in his bedroom --dawn time.
Very good make-up. Rumpled hair and oily face just like when you get up in the morning.
Madhu in Vanity Van
Reasonable make up. She was looking perspiring and red with all vomiting and her tension. Though they made the mistake of making her look red. When you vomit, one goes green...with increasing paleness and dehydrating condition. I guess that make up would have been a bad idea for TV viewers.

We do feel the ishq and junoon between the two.

There is simultaneous playing of the two themes for both of them. How much the guy is giving his Biwi the space and yet showing his well-maintained balanced distance and closeness and asking her the right questions. And likewise Madhu...she may be the densest and dumbest of all to handle people like Trishna, Bhatias and Mukku's mother, but she understands RK very well. She knows where she has to keep quiet. And that's because, at core levels both are same. Extremely sensitive to people around them. And this sensitivity to other people becomes an aberration causing hurt to them, for each other, its a peace, a solace time.

The second part- that is the beauty of their relationship- whatever their flaws (and I remember your post of how you've accepted the flaws as part of the charecter which makes watching the show eaiser- I have to get on that), they always understand each other beacuse, as you said, they are so like each other. Madhu and RK are each other's mirrors, each other's reflections- opposite yet alike, together yet not. For them, I feel, the two of them will be the source of the other's greatest torment, and consequently, greatest balm.

About Hima's question ...how does Madhu plan to make RK break her fast, if she continues to hide the vrat from him? I don't know yet...but I am going by my own personal psychology as I am like that. Some things, I keep on doing just trusting in positivity that it shall get full-filled. The die-hard optimist in me and a believer in the gift of goodness from God if we dared to dream about the same, no matter how difficult it is.

Others Takes - Rishbala and the Ishq & the Junoon

By PreetD

I always feel terrible doing this but today again I'm going to post my take before going through the thread so therefore I might be echoing sentiments others have already expressed throughout the thread.

I really liked today's episode minus a few things but we shall overlook those.

Madhu and RK in the bedroom were ridiculously cute.  The cute banter back and forth had me sitting there with a smile on my face the whole time, I'm silly.  First she points out the daag on his cheek and then realizing what it is tries to take it back.

Something tells me, and I may be completely wrong, but the line about RK saying he had become the chaand might have been put in deliberately - could this come up again during the breaking of the vrat?

RK not realizing what the daag on his face was a little silly but I loved his response when she said it must have been a maachar, artist more and machaar less.

My most favourite exchange was on the sound stage though.  I loved how she finally answered him regarding her always smiling.  The facial exercises, so cute! lol... Obviously our hero thought so too as he tells her to cut it out before he falls even farther under her spell.  Him asking her why she was suddenly on the set with him all the time for no reason and her not replying fast enough kind of reminded me of the I miss you phone scene.  She's not quick enough to reply so he changes the subject thinking better of it.  Then his feigned disinterest in what she had to say in response.. The man is affected but he doesn't know what to make of what she's saying but he wants to hear more, she's paused only a beat after she says Jaise and that's a beat too long as he prompts her along.. Jaise? Then his cute embarrassment at being caught at having put on his jacket inside out.  The woman completely disarms him, notice how his guard has instantly fallen.  Madhu doesn't even realize how much power she could have over RK, her teasing him like that completely throws him off his game, if he teases her and she's taken off guard he's good, but the moment that she plays/flirts back he's done for lol.. (I don't think I've mentioned it but I ADORE the new background score that they've been playing recently - Madhu's Love Song...)

I liked the contrast of RK's concern from the sound stage to the vanity van.  On set it was all about emotions, he had already found himself in this disarmed state and those were on the forefront (I wish they hadn't shortened this scene because what we saw in the precap and what we saw on screen today were not the same).  In the van it was RK the protector, rational thinking man.  His biwi was in trouble and he needed to find the solution to make it all better.  The anger and him lashing out tomorrow is definitely driven by his concern for his wife.  Initially when I had seen the promo for tomorrow I was really annoyed with RK and his "jhoot moot ka pati" line but then I thought back to every Shri has always said about their marriage and their vows and rights and everything and it makes sense.  I'm just looking forward to next week when he'll show up, the knight in shining armor.  Perhaps, and I may be wrong yet again, we'll see some scenes where RK is going to worry for his biwi and the way he sent her away, and that concern is what drives him to find her.  I'm hoping Bittuji gets in some good lines here before he rushes off to be with his Bhabiji instead of his Chief.

The exchange between Madhu and RK in the bedroom - When he asks her if she would go if he asked her not to and her response that she would not go and the repetition on both their parts of the same question and answer...  I loved that exchange because there was so much more beneath those words - it was not the words but the meaning behind them.  He didn't mean for that one moment in which they were in, he meant forever even though he played it off casually, she was quite firm in her response that she meant forever.  She would never go anywhere if he asked her to stay, she's by his side.. uff!  I love this couple so much!

By AA,
Today was a very interesting episode. The ending might have seemed a bit dragged in order to have the main drama on Friday, but I saw it from a different point of view.
RK- the man who does not know what his wife thinks of him- as far as he can tell, she trusts him, his trust is important to her, and she does not hate him. Madhu knows RK considers her his wife, truly- he's practically been shouting it from the rooftops. RK does not know what Madhu feels about him- indeed, she won't even tell him why she's smiling. So as far as this superstar knows, his wife sees him as a fellow human being she will do a kindness to, but little else. Hence all his questions to her.
Despite this, his obssesion with her is such that in his concern he tramples on her expressed willin order to help her. Madhu is begging him not to give her the juice, and he is ready to force feed her. RK did not give up- she won't drink the glucose? Fine. Sugar and water. Won't drink that? Fine. Juice. Juice is bad. I'll taste it first- Superstar RK checking the quality of juice, what a laugh. She won't drink juice when she is sick? Fine, I'll forcefeed her!
We've talked about how RK now thinks with his head, and his reactions to Madhu illustrate why. The relationship was made with his head, but now has taken hold of his heart. In this, he does not care what she says, only what he can do for her to help her, even if she does not want it. And that can be a very scary thing when it's amped up. And it will be once he realizes Madhu's feelings for him, and when he acknowledges that he feels more for her (I won't say love, because I'm not sure if RK will think in those terms).
I will admit I was surprised by the remarriage/love track, but today cleared all my doubts. When RK figures out that Madhu will willing to endure so much for him because she considers him her husband, then the first thing he'll do is make sure she is tied to him in such a way that she will never leave. Completing the last three pheras, and thus tying her to him from Madhu's end, will be the first step in doing so. And when he realizes she loves him? Well all bets of off- the junoon starts, which Madhu's love feeds in- a feedback cycle that amplies there emotions to the max.
And we can't expect Madhu to be the sane one in the relationship. Yesterday I posted if there would be a track where Madhu would place RK above traditions- today? She would have not kept the vrat, the vrat she is undergoing such pain for, if he had asked her to stay.
Yep, sanity is on permenant vacation when this relationship is concerned.
P.S: Can I just say, I loved Madhu's desperation today? No matter what happens to her, she's keeping that vrat because not wishing for RK's long life? Is that unfathomable to her. Kudos, Madhu.

By Hima.
In the studio RK asks Madhu why she keeps coming to the set now a days...she gets stuck not knowing what to say...Later when Madhu is about to say something with 'Pati...' RK cuts her saying 'jaane do'.   Now I wonder why is that..??         Is it because he wanted her to say that she came for him but, was afraid that she might give some other reason or Is it because he had an inkling  that she would say 'for him' and he was afraid as to how to react or face it as he was not ready..?? He is been repeatedly asking for the reason why she is smiling so much... and his 'Jhoot moot pati' dialogue...so,I think he knows how he feels for her and craves the same from her but,is not sure if he could term Madhu's affections as 'Love' or if its just her care, sympathy, good heart, being obliged and her commitment to marital bond...
Episode was good with casual teasing, care which could even cross the limits and get forceful if needed with many underlying emotions through out...
ETA... Though RK didn't say anything his eyes spoke volumes when Madhu said all that about her heart beating fast and something happening to her when he is around...he felt a sweet sense of satisfaction of being loved and having that effect on her I guess...

By Zoya,
It was a light-hearted and an endearing episode to watch:):)
I hope Shri has given an A..

When RK asks her ki agar main kahoon ke na jao toh and she replies saying nahi jaungi and with the Tu hi hai maula playing in the bg---- This was the perfect moment:):) And as usual he breaks the moment..

I guess RK is now no more perplexed with this behavior of hers trying to come to terms with it thinking its her manufacturing defect... Since their marriage, he had been harsh on her and then the attacks took place, so she was always serious and distressed... But now that he has let his guard down and is warming upto her, he thinks that the way she is behaving is her natural behavior and so trying to accommodate it..

The Facial structure smiles that Madhu gives him was hilarious.

When RK asks her why are you tagging along with me nowadays to the sets and then he suddenly says never mind jaane do, what was he scared to hear?

His rage tomorrow is going to be laced with more concern for her than he just being angry with her for observing the fast and hiding it from him...

He sure knows that the duo(Mittu) are up in cohorts and hiding sth from him but why is he not probing into it... or was it just the start today and it will be shown tomorrow

Come back and read posts later

Edit: I guess the writers are following the KC rituals properly...The Baya(Shri was talking about y'day) that is supposed to come from the mothers's place is what Pads wanted to give it to Madhu an come but Trish prevented her from going..

HumTum: Of Potions and Magic

By Manonids
Scene 1: Madhu saying 'Main nahe jaungi'. on RK's insistence was awww moment and DD was fab there with love oozing out from her face ..She stared at RK till the time he didn't move out from  the scene ...or shall I say escaped from her Ishqiya looks '..and the trademark song there '"Tere Ishq pe Jaan Qurbaan" simply added the much needed flavor in Madhu's Ishq for RK ''longingness in her eyes was touching ...'don't know but it looked as if she is  up for a heart break badly ...( May be I am wrong here ...but Madhu deep feelings for RK is scary )
Scene 2: RK intrigued with Madhu's constant smiling ''Facial exercise '.Rofl '.Madhu laughing at RK's upturned jacket '.ufff '..Has RK gone nuts in his BIWI's company ????  Madhu helping him setting his jacket '.with male BG '."Tera Ishq he mera Junoon" ''Sigh '.loop closed with these two scenes ''
"Tum jab Ajeeb hote ho toh interesting lagte ho" '.but ur looking mother of Ajeeb '.Rofl Bittu G was a true companion today trying every stupid reason to help Madhu hide the secret
'Ouch moment : Madhu feeling pain due to poisoned Sargi '.but still holding on to herself but loved how RK took care of her ...adorable couple ..'..

By Soundarya,
RK is in no mood to let Madhu leave the room, as much she wants to go eat her sargi. He puzzles over the mehndi mark and she gets him toothpaste to remove the mark. Cutest moment: when he asks, if I ask you not to go, she replies...toh main nahin jaoongi, and stays on. He comes closer to her, and is the first to break the gaze.
What I like about this track is that while last week madhu was in her dream world, this week, she seems more open with her feelings. Noone in his right senses would be able to miss the love in her eyes in the above scene. Madhu has her sargi and cut to studio.

Again the banter between the two seemed relaxed ...the facial exercises she shows RK were hilarious. I used to think about RK, how can the girl not fall in love with him ? But today I can say the reverse, how can he not fall for her? RK asks her why she comes to the studio, and she replies ...dil dhadakta hai, kuch kuch hota hai...her eyes reflect the truth of what she's saying to him, but she breaks the mood by laughing at his jacket which he has worn the wrong way!!

Her stomach ache begins, she deteriorates rapidly, vomiting and cramps. RK calls the doctor, he recommends glucose water, Madhu refuses to drink anything till finally RK tries to forcefeed her juice, and the episode ends.

When I saw this, I realised that RK's rage may be mixed with concern, plus genuine anger at her following a meaningless ritual, acc to him. I wish I could fastforward to monday's episode when he will probably break her fast. Tomorrow guys, is going to be rona dhona, tension, take it from me.

I dedicate this song to Madhubala:

Hum Intezaar karenge, hum intezaar karenge
Tera Qayamat Tak, Khuda kare ke qayamat ho, aur tu aaaye.
