RK - The Boy trapped in Man's Body - 20th Sep 2012

Episode 20th September 2012 -  RK - The Boy trapped in Man's Body

Rishu versus RK

This week we saw that RK opened upto Madhubala, just a bit, to tell her how he lost his Dad when he was 12 years old. A day that left the boy confused and shocked beyond any reconciliation. Here he had been enjoying with his Dad and two hours later Rishu loses his father. He sees him hanging by the ceiling.

We got just this much peep. Not more than this. But yet what was relevant piece of info was that Rishabh smothered Rishu that day along with his Dad's funeral and he started becoming RK. He couldn't sleep on that day and ever since was never able to sleep. And later on in his life he took to drinking to beat away his insomnia.

So imagination is wide open. Questions galore on the evolution of RK from Rishu.
How did the kid manage himself into becoming RK?

What was the mother doing ? Was she unable to provide any kind of vent to her son, the much needed vent.

Was the death on his B'day? Per the flashback, Rishab was happy winning the cricket match. That was being celebrated. What if it really happened on his B'day. Terrible day. B'day & D'day, better buried in history as if the day never happened. Then what of his existence ? Existential dilemma and more so when you feel trapped.
If the adult man is drinking now, what was the boy doing to beat sleeplessness condition earlier ? Kind of impractical to imagine that the boy took to drinking then and he was caught by none.

The boy became a responsible man to fulfil his fathers dreams and had killed his childhood to sustain his father's memory. The son vowed to himself that he will make his father proud with his achievements and that became his holy crusade.

Poco/Jackie described the boy/man's state as a medical condition. Here it is in her words.
"Rishabh is trapped in that moment of a 12 year old - he has been under post trauma depression for 17 years and the very fact that he finds denial indulgences to fight this depression makes it a medical condition. "

************
Now if that was not enough for us, this week we also saw, Rishabh Kundra getting fidgety around the bare back of his wife Madhubala. The wife whom he loves to flaunt by holding her waist, dancing with her to a sexy number, he has no shyness when is in absolute state of hate for her or a puppet. But the same wife when seen in respectful manner and not as an enemy, RIshabh Kundra was nervous and he was almost sweating at the difficult dori -tying exercise.

And if that was not a spectacle to watch, we have another mute drama to watch. The Superstar RK whose mouth is never closed and utters bombastic dialogues and taunts and every ready ti yell or scream, he gets tongue-tied when a certain family member Deepali leaves not a moment to seduce him. And she was not even a Siren if you ask me, but our RK had an attack of consternation.
This lead me to conclude that Rishabh Kundra is not a fully sexually developed man and to be more specific. He grew up too fast, leaving gape holes on his psyche. I had this conversation going on with Jackie, FQ and FG earlier, which I am going to paste in my next post.

RK - man trapped in the boy's mind
A collection of thoughts as members discussed throughout the day.

Myself
I feel that Rishabh was so busy turning into RK with all darker forces that he did not have the opportunity of growing up sexually. Sometimes lack of this  growth, lack of expression of this energy twists us to something else. We become weak persons and try to hide our weakness.

Kundalini Chakras tell us after Mooladhara,we have Swadhistana and all the other deeper and higher levels of our existential needs. When the boy's growth got rudely interrupted at the age of 12, his body and mind were still living the first two energies.

Not RK , but Rishabh when he tried to tie the dori, he was in a shaken state.
Likewise, when he is being seduced, he is being nervous and jittery.

And because the boy is trapped in man's body and vice versa, the response comes out as comic, confused and yet we see the vulnerability, the lack of knowledge, the lack of skill on that front, the insecurity seeps out.

I must say that while we are getting to have MB-RK in one room through the predator Dipaali's sexual overtures, it makes us happy of the result, but it is not all rosy.  I feel for RK who seems so powerful and yet he can become such an easy prey to predators of different kind.

Poco/Jackie (the author of Beast Palace series)
Thank you and this is a WOW take. Hmm, perhaps. Maybe , it easy for him to serenade heroines and women the powerful avatar of  Rishabh Kundra , but when it comes down to 'feeling' a woman as Rishabh  , he is fidgety and reticent. I mean sleeping with a woman is one thing but feeling her is another altogether. I mean, we have seen it , right? Rishabh has no qualms in touching Maddy anywhere when he is being a villain but the moment that mask falls and he is boyish and vulnerable, his hands clench.

I think Rishabh is sexually evolved but when it comes to connecting emotion and vulnerability to sexuality , he gets cold feet and how. LOL

Myself
Yes Jackie. You got it right. Sexual development is very basic. It has to be regulated into the mental dimensions as well.  The emotional connection and security is missing for him. This can be seen from the levels of self-building, bonding with others and social expression and people skills and finally the confidence of what we have. The boy's was protected in his father's company and then his growth stopped. So I am saying he never ever explored the bonding part. If you do not bond how can you know which is adhesive, which is cohesive and which one is repelling. Rishabh's behaviour in the two incidents seemed as if a child seeing a woman's bare back for the first time and then being consternated at some adult trying to do an unthinkable act. So many child-abuse victims tell us that they just let it happen. Why? because the children do not have the mental knowledge that they can react.

As for the past with Dipali...my guess is ..RK was so drunk that he never knew what may have happened or not happened and Dipali uses that info to blackmail him into coercive acts of her choice. LOL Just a guess.

FQ ( Author of the FQnama series)
You mean that like James Dean, RK is a virginpoo? If the writers had that kind of visioning for him, more props them. But i just think they are weak and unplanned and confused as always. The dori reluctance was absurd. And to me, Deepali and he clearly have a sexual history. Knowing her, she probably made it up as RK passed out drunk and then blackmailed her way into his house.

Pippa
I'm 100% sure he's a virgin...remember, he was all a-jitter when attempting to tie Madhu's blouse strings...goes to prove that Deeps didn't get her evil way with him and also explains his lockjaw ailment seeing her slithering about in his bed room carrying the time tested aphrodisiac...a glass of milk

FG (ApplenPeaches) I love to call her Fruity Girl and she too likes it. Embarrassed
She penned her thoughts earlier over a different post titled "the boy is the father to the man"
Didnt RK have a girl friend or someone in the beginning? Did I get that wrong? Was she a girlfriend-in-name-only like Madhu is wife-in-name-only? He must have tied hundreds of dories of his gfs or romanced them onscreen.. Did they just show the two scenes SD was taking about just to show that he feels something when it comes to Madhu and that he is disgusted with Deepali?

FQ again
Oh yes. Me thinks publicist created affairs. Like most affairs in Hollywood, and now, Bollywood too.
My reading is that RK has probably had sex, but never with anyone with whom he connects emotionally. With Madhubala, this is not so. He does not love her, but he knows her and she knows him. I think his sexual encounters are more like ships in the dark. One of these ships is Deepali who followed him and is trying to dock at his harbour ever since.

RK - The Boy trapped in Man's Body - Revisited since Revenge Track began on 5th February 2013 - Story now being reconciled to Sep 2012 phase in MEIEJ

As seen in Episode 197 on 16th February 2013
The Equation that Madhu and RK have now
In today's episode, they have yet again showed to the world that it is very private between the two. When Madhu answered the media that "pyaar alag ho gaya tha"...when we look at RK's visage, he is like, "yeah, I know" And Dips became a vehicle again for RK to tell us viewers that, he still considers Madhu as his...that haque(right) of insulting, hating and avenging is all his and no one else has it. He has made that clear.
And there in Chawl, Madhu looking at the same news...is very clearly thinking what is it their equation about now. She still cares for his well being and his mother. She wants Bittuji to take care of him. But she wants to steel herself so much that when he comes back to tell her that he loves her, she wants to be indifferent to his love, as if that is what will quench her hurt at not being reciprocated in love, in being told that he never loved her. Cheating...being led to believe that he loved her hurts her but more that that, being told that he does not love her is hurting her more.

Now, Madhu has brought in complexitiies to the relationship they have now. They both are calling each other Ex Husband and Ex Wife. So not sure what is the divorce status now...seems I have to assume that divorce already happened. They are painting it like Filmy couple seperation.
But complexities if RK had weaved into their relationship, Madhu added a new dimension to it. She wants to tell RK, I want to be immune to your love inspite of me wanting and actually taking care of you in best possible way. And RK was all this before...not sure where he is going now...but one thing is clear...he is possessing Madhu more than ever, holding on to her more than ever. He preserved her memories on the swing, will not want Madhu to see him acting the same scene with any other actress and making it a public memory. As told to Dipali, he will not have his Ex-Wife belittled by anyone. She is still his sherni, who is dignified, courageous and soft-hearted. Once again both of them made it very clear to the rest of the world...we are not separated, our love is separated. And this is very much OUR relationship.

So this is the NEW DNA of Rishbala romance. Trying to be immune to each other's love inspite of being caring to each other. They still have that haque on each other...indirect hi sahee.

Think last week was the worst in terms of emotional manipulation by the MB team. Now we know something is coming up. good, bad, this track, that track, all that is a state secretLOL

Am going to enjoy the upcoming episodes...they love each other, that much is clear. They also know each other, through and through ..little habits, each others idiosyncrasies...though RK may not be ready for Madhu's reactions, she now knows him inside out. And if they're going to be thrown together perforce, it will be fun to watch...their changed DNA of romance..

New DNA of romance - as I see it...
  1. To be immune to each other's love (to try their level best)
  2. To still care for each other in indirect operative manner
  3. Madhu's goading of Rishabh - the side of him which she hated always (his kiddish/adolescent side gone bad) and now fighting without any fear as she doesn't have anything to lose (juxtapose her dialogue of Jan 16th - I hate you, Main tumhaara andar ka zahar nikaloongi)
  4. Rishabh smarting under Madhu's goad and looking more and more ridiculous with his attitude. Hope he doesn't become a cartoon. Because he becomes, instead of laughing at him, you girls go crazy and start crying like you did on Friday and Saturday. Here we are actually supposed to laugh at his fall.
  5. Madhu hurting from what RK did - the side of him whom she loves (the adult, mature guy capable of being charming to her) and now trying to be indifferent to him, which is her silent complaint to him that he ditched her and she did not expect this of him.
  6. RK resigned of all that he sees - Madhu hurting and her indifference to him, Madhu's anger and her jab at his weaker side (the Rishabh part of his), and him waiting for the fight between Madhu and Rishabh to escalate where he secretly might wish his weaker side to get defeated by Madhu...as that absolves him to choose between his weaker side and Madhu...because without a choice he will have to side with his weaker side...that's the promise he has to keep always....but here in the dynamics will change when RK betrays Rishabh....the last part is what I see as underlying plot surprise as thriller portion, rest of everything will be regular plot development to to have the junoon and Ishq going on as always.

Don't worry. Right now I'll cheer anyone who takes him down a peg or two  ... Hmmm .. Maybe not anyone. But if its Madhu most definitely.

From superstar tantrums to superstar whining. The only problem, what is his character reduced to? But if it is Madhu's doing, then this too will not matter. Madhu ka haq banta hai.

@bold
his character was never reduced. It was always there...For ex: just like everyone of us, MAdhu also likes his stronger side. We all never liked his weaker side.  But thing is we cannot deny it that it exists and instead of letting it sleep, Madhu has goaded him about that. In that sense, they both are those two school monitors in class, where they fight with each other.

In school...we used to have this revamping of all sections population and redistributed into new sections. So when I was in VI standard, I had my friends separated into other sections and only few left with me...boys and girls, with whom I was not that buddy close. So it was all new. But there was another challenge. Apparently the erstwhile section B crowd which was dominant then in my new class...they had rules of Boys and Girls will not talk to each other. It was strict rule...total prohibition. I was like what Shocked Ouch ConfusedWacko  I started looking at two of my male friends Bopanna and Chandrasekhar and Gaurav and I blinked my eyes...and I was like ...what you will not talk to me ???? But we are friends...and I said to Gaurav...we used to sit with each other and now you will not even look at me ???? The three boys were silent...they were like...smiling a  little but cannot do anything about it.   That reminds me of RK's resigned looks now.  I never saw these friends of mine vehemently fighting with girls, but always maintained the protocol propagated by Manjunath K...who the girls in anger called him Kunjunath. He was smart, intelligent, suave...but just because his rule forced us to get separated from our male friends...we hated him like anything. I too hated him. Two more years with him...by VIII standard, he too looked at his rule incredulously, how ridiculous it was becoming with all the boys wanting to talk to us and we all just manuvering that through Quiz competitions thrown at each other in Free periods just to show who is mighty...girls or boys...but we all ended up admiring our wits and politely requesting each other for Hardy Boys and Three Investigator series as next in queue for the next Library allotment...

I attribute that behavior to Raging Adolescent Hormones LOL

Well not reduced to exactly, I think its more along the lines of .. The world bowed to him and now that same world watches him bow to someone who he ridiculed soo many times. You can't help but feel, kya din aage hain? Kese jeeta tha, aur ab dekho, bechara. I feel pity for some reason.

I studied in a girls convent. My only conversation with boys was through my brother and cousins. I have no clue what I missed out on.

In Co-Ed Schools, we start knowing  how boys change each year. How their voice changes...everything. We become their sisters, friends and interests. It all feels very nice.

Come to think of the behaviour I saw in my class...that was when we were 11 years old. And Manjunath & Co...by 13th year, saw how ridiculous it was turning out to be.

And here Rishabh bottled himself at 12 year after his father's death. He never could complete his adoloescent phase of life. He had an abnormal hormonal understanding of his needs. I always knew this character trait will be a clinical problem for him which will doom his relationship with anyone until it is completely fought with. It will look ugly to respectable people expecting adults. It will not look ugly to his equal ones.

A child forced to grow up too fast, but still clinging on to his childish notions and tantrums. Rishabh is still a child on the verge of adolescence and RK is the adult. He can behave as a person of his age and stature is expected to. But Rishabh keeps poking his head out, to create trouble and constantly remind RK of his existence. And RK sides by him because in the end they are parts of the same person.

Exactly!!!!  Thank you for the sum up.

I am gonna take this summation of our conversation to ED thread today. Its needed. Because we discussed this trait last in September. Poco and me believed this would actually happen...but soon post Ganesha track,...we were all confused. Come to think of it...we never should have stopped keeping our thoughts still intact. I was like may be the CVs changed the entire thing...but surprise surprise...they still are on the same path...

ETA:
That is the reason why I liked RK(not Rishabh) carrying Dipali over 16th Feb episode...as in touching. Because him not touching her and her bullying him with her touch reminded me too much of adolescent shyness (Rishabh) in RK character and for Madhu's sake, I wanted him to get past it...be the unaffected man. RK could dominate Rishabh and be done with Dipali. And on saturday, he achieved that. He cured of that part of him. Now if the childish fights between them go on...more or less a lot of Rishabh childishness will go away. I think what we will see these days is the boy's need to be head-boy and Madhu's fight will purge his need about that.

RK's treatment to Dipali - finally on 16th February (all possible now post his relationship cementing with Madhu who helped him get past his emotional vulnerabilities and insecurities

sack of potatoes!
LOL!!!

Thank you Zorica for that epithet.

Today I am on a roll.  Because I feel poetic justice for myself today. I cried hell at the incestuous relationship the CVs were painting between RK and Dips. I complained to them so many times. I used the word "napunsak" as in "eunuch" for RK in not doing anything to Dips and his fear of scandal for physically touching her...If you have noticed you will see, Dips touching him all the time and he never touching her...just protecting himself...so today I was happy he touched her, meaning she does not affect him and picked her up and walked out, meaning he is no more afraid of scandal and a man who is capable of answering questions of people if they asked him...and finally he righteously dropped her on her bed...and did not stop there, showed sense without anger at her shamelessness, by splashing cold water on her face...they do that in questioning cells and mental hospitals...right ?
But he showed anger at her audacity to go and insult Madhu or even talk about Madhu in front of him Clap

RK and his healing from his three hurts
http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=3440872
The weight-lifting scene LOL!!! RK picking up Dipali in his arms and leaving her in her room.

A disgusting act to see and yet gives away RK's indifference to Dipali now. She doesn't hurt him, affect him for his own sake, she can only affect him if she does something to Madhu now. To save Madhu's honour, today RK was ready to go public about Dipali's feelings for him. He wanted everyone to see what all she feels for him...not just in his room...but outside his room. And he manipulated her. Our Bad Luck, scene just ended between the two...Sigh!!!!

I sense that most people are all disgusted about the scene. That RK has reached new low. But have you all wondered what was the actual ACT about??? It was about exposing Dipali to ALL...to protect his Ex-Wife's place forever in his room, even in Madhu's absence, when she was not there to defend the place.

  • If RK picked up Dipali in his arms, where was he leading her on to...INTO HIS ROOM ORAWAY FROM HIS ROOM.
  • What would have happened if SIKKY HAD SEEN RK LIFTING DIPALI LIKE THAT and his darling wife with hands over RK ?  What would the household have felt ?  Half the time, I was expecting Sikky to see it. And  IMO, RK EXPECTED SOMEONE to SEE that SCENE of HIM CARRYING DIPALI to HER ROOM.
  • What would have Sikky or Radhaji asked ? RK where are you taking her ? What happened to her? Why is she in your arms ?

RK would have answered...Bhabhi was in my room exercising. I am taking her to her room.
What would have been the SUBTLE MESSAGE Driven here ?
WHY DIPS is EXERCISING in HIS ROOM ?
And who HAD to ANSWER that QUESTION ? RK or DIPS or SIKKY ?

IMO SIKKY was the one to answer that between TWO MEN. And no longer the fight is between RK and Dips. The WOMAN HAD ALREADY LOST ALL STATUS at that Point. This is is called SOCIETAL JUDGEMENT DAY.

Just that today, they wanted to use Dipali for RK to utter the dialogue of his HAQUE of hating, insulting and avenging over Madhu was his, even if she was his EX-WIFE. And he was saying this to his EX-GF.  I feel they are preserving the scene of total public display of Dips for later, when Sikky gets to know about it.

See the contrast.
  • There was a day when RK went to Madhu's room, picked her up in his arms and instilled her in his room.
  • Today, Dips, who was in his room, INSTEAD of SAYING HIS REGULAR OUTT, he just picked up her, dropped her in her room and splashed water on her face, asking her to come back to senses.
To ME TODAY RK OFFICIALLY CURED HIMSELF OF HIS THIRD HURT.

MADHU HAS OFFICIALLY CURED RK OF ALL HIS THREE PUNCHES/HURTS.
  1. RK is now reconciled to Ganesha, his father. They both are on the side table.
  2. RK is reconciled to his mother. He respects her completely.
  3. RK has shown Dipali her place and he was not afraid to show this in front of people. He already said to Dipali..."Coffer nahin Vodka se celebrate karo" in front of his mother. So RK is now HELL-BENT to SHOW DIPALI's REALITY to HIS FAMILY, especially HIS MOTHER and HIS BROTHER SIKKY
Finally RK has stopped drinking and is now able to sleep...which he was just to have sleep forgetting those three hurts.
