Events of the Episode
- Needless to say, as the title expresses its the unwedding drama of Rishabh and Madhu (sans surnames) as it gets confusing. RK drinks, pours whiskey into the fire, sends away the Pandit and declares to Madhu that it is not a wedding but a UN-Wedding drama, that he so meticulously planned for months since Studio track until Balraj killing drama, that he now so fakingly designed the wedding venue through set decorators, lighting Dept, Clothes from Dress-makers.
- The unwedding drama is the climax of the revenge he planned for Madhubala Rish...correction Madhubala Shamsher Malik for the 4 slaps.
- He declares to Madhu that they are free, no longer wedded to each other and that Madhubala Shamsher Malik's life ended and so is the most cherished relationship she built for herself.
Episode Reviews:
Nuking Episode
Okay you will all curse me today. But I am mighty relieved. Finally the SUSPENSE break happened. I always said, I was more worried about me and you (audience). Madhu is secondary because, she has the dramatist with her. Sourabh Tewari will take her where he wants to...and I don't have any exercise rights on her, so why bother. She was in state of shock.
NAUTANKI
Question that Madhu and I have...
All this was a lie ?
All this was a lie ?
All this was a lie ?
All this was a lie ?
Answer I have ...I don't know what Madhu is going to think when she comes out of shock...
Bring on more drama, entertainment.
Bring it on RK !!!!
Now what I don't understand is Did ST's spirit enter your body and takeover your soul ? Seems the case. !!! But ST showed through that you both are RAKSHAS. EK Number Ke. Kis Rakshas ke bachche ho, zara apna khandaan ka to khulaasa karo ????
PANDIT ASSOCIATION
Why don't you go and stage global level protest that ST through MEIEJ has made a joke of Hindu Marriage. That he mocks marriage rituals. That he creates half-marriages and also unwinding of marriages. Is it even possible ?
I am with you. Chalo Dhaava bolte hai Nautanki Films Aur Colors Channel par.
INDIAN LAW
RK cannot prove that he has unwed Madhubala Rishabh Kundra. Not Possible. No legal tenet available.
Don't worry Madhu. Legally you are still RK's wife.
PRECAP
Abey Rakshas!!! Ab Madhu ko kahaan kheench ke le jaa raha hai. The End hai to Jaa...Apna Raasta Naap Na??!!! Madhu ke baare sochne ki kya zaroorat ??? Usko kahaan le jaa raha hai?? Kheenchte hue ??
Darr lag raha ki, subah utho, to pata chala.. woh mar-mara gayi aur tujhe scandal se deal karna pade...Darpok ek number ka. Beda garak ho tera. Satyanaas ho tera!!!! Tu kahin moonh dikhaane laayak na ho !!! Ja maine bad-dua de di.
MIND-SPINNER Questions:
Madhubala Shamsher Malik ki Zindagi ka THE END
Uski Zindagi ka sabse keemti rishta ka THE END
Jo khel tumne shuru kiya, use maine khatam kiya
Picture ab baaki nahin hai
Madhubala Shamsher Malik ka, Is Rishte ka THE END
Abey yaar!!!! Kahani mein phir se Twist with those questions.
Line 1 - okay, Madhu the simple girl's life ended
Line 2 - Puzzled...Which Rishta ? The Rishta of Heart ? When she was a Malik, her family, I guess was keemti rishta...I don't know I am confused. She loved RK when became a KUNDRA. So mystery deepens for me.
Line 3 - Question is so what about Madhubala Rishabh Kundra. I am conphoozed !!!!
CHALO...Now we will have a peaceful Sunday and week ahead.
:
PUNCHLINE for Today
Buri Neeyat waale, Teraa Moonh Kaala
okay my serious review of the episode today. I watched the episode again to check if I missed anything.
RK act of unwedding - Totally Mindless Drama - And so expensively designed by RK himself and planned from months and even advertised from last 6 days by the producer of Nautanki Films and the channel.
- Why would anyone go to that length? Sweet Revenge on whom ? Who are the targets here ? Us or Madhu or TRP ?
- Seriously is it even possible ? Before the elements, I declare the End of our relationship... that's what RK said. Fine.
- But wedding card pe kiska naam chapa tha ? ( Whose name was printed on the wedding card ?) Madhubala Rishabh Kundra or Madhubala Shamsher Malik ? If no one did Madhubala's kanyaadan, why is Rishabh Kundra even taking Shamsher Malik's name ?
- Then again...why he faked everything and brought the real pandit ? Why didn't he get a fake pandit ?
Why are there so many loopholes and bloopers in his unwedding drama and his revenge twist ? It doesn't make sense at all, unless I call him demented. He actions look sadist in nature, but he is not and the new promo and his drama at the chawl is again a masochist act.
The Drinking Scene
The way he started with his whiskey casket and that too by saying "Biwi"...I was like..."Lo shuru hua iska drama" (In English...Lo, here he starts his drama). For not even a second I felt, he was drinking to get courage...that he already had...he was drinking to have a visual impact of the Jerk Image stamped in Madhu's and viewers minds. He was being a jerk already, but visual images have stronger impact with more memory retention than verbal dialogues/commentary.
And what I was observing the whole time...how much his Adam's Apple was moving when he was drinking. And it was moving very little, as if they shot only him filling up his gullet and mouth but not actually gulping, when they must have repeatedly shot the same sequence from various angles. And the most imp question is who gulps whiskey like water and not put the casket to lips and sip!
The Biwi vs Madhubala Shamsher Malik
From last 4 days, he has not been saying Biwi, and now suddenly on Mandap when he supposedly is marrying the virgin daughter of Maliks, Madhubala Shamsher Malik and not Madhubala Rishabh Kundra, why was he then calling her Biwi. "Relax Biwi, Finally tumse main shaadi kar raha hoon". Who marries a Biwi ? If Biwi...then whom did he destroy? To me it seemed he destroyed his Biwi, Madhubala Rishabh Kundra and yet he kept saying to her this is the end of Madhubala Shamsher Malik...which was not the case. It made no sense at all.
And then the dialogue writer had hit a blockade and he could not decide how to say for RK, he chose to the write the dialogue as "Rishabh unweds Madhubala". Since when he started dropping his Kundra surname
Rishabh Kundra's moods throughout the episode
- Watchful and Serene until he goes for Whiskey
- Joking and Caddish behaviour until he sends away the Pandit
- Earnest vengeful eyes when telling about his accomplishment of his revenge
- Considerate eyes when trying to bully Madhu into giving some kind of reaction.
In the entire drama, he was like, I am taking the revenge for 4 slaps you gave me and always trying to guage the reaction Madhu would give to his dialogue. Most of the time he was confident and poised and only towards the end of the episode, he became the considerate person after Madhu stops him leaving the Mandap. I wonder, would he have left Madhu alone there and walked out in happiness if Madhu had not stopped !!
Episode Technical Points:
The background Music Score
Aashish Rego actually played a very sinister kind of music. I got eerie feeling which increased the anxiety every minute, until VD as in RK started his whiskey drinking act and the Mission Impossible kind of Action Music started. From then on it was drama. But the initial music was superb.
Dramatic action
Superb. It was gripping. RK was a cad and a jerk today talking stupidly about revenge that was utterly non-sense and crazy, that doesn't seem to have any explanation and yet I was gripped to enjoy the drama. VD made it enjoyable for me. The guy really starts grabbing my attention when he goes for his drama, be it in subtle action or in loud drama. I think I have to see VD in a NON-ACTOR character role to judge his acting skills. I enrolled myself for the show in August watching the same despicable but intriguing man. Seems, I am back to square one.
Also I really wonder how VD delivers that kind of acting, talking something verbally, and yet showing something through the eyes as well. Has he really mastered acting !! His considerate eyes act make Madhu confident and she cries as if she now sees the man whom she knows and asks him to tell if all of it is a lie. That was really something

Thoughts
I am frustrated with the huge build-up they came about for radical shift in the plot. What the CVs are doing is like a volcanic upheaval to set up a correction for an aberration that had gone wrong somewhere.
Of course, I knew the marriage may not happen, because it hampers the heroine track, but the revenge theme is so idiotic...but to me it seems NOW, the heroine track would have started only in independent/unmarried phase for RK and Madhu like at the beginning of the story (Mukund days) and so may be that's the reason again to re-establish the dead revenge between them to reinstate the antagonistic states.
But what does not make sense utterly is his masochist act to tarnish his own image by creating a public drama at the chawl. This though odious in itself, is the only thing that holds hope for an ulterior motive of his revenge drama and public tarnishing of his image.
He has previously always been in news with Madhu, making them a well-loved couple, but this time by tarnishing his image, he is giving public sympathy to Madhu, who already had created waves in her mother's defense of Balraj's killing.
The Couple in Public's eyes (through Media)
- When Madhu filed a case against him and he was taken to Police custody
- When RK tarnished her image as his Lailaa
- When RK married her
- When RK came out of the studio lifting her in hands (cradle position)
- When RK was shot, not sure if they wrote Madhu saved him
- Shamsher attack/arrest though known to chawl people, RK managed the press statements
- 5 Years Anniversary Party for RK
- Padmini-Shamsher Marriage - we are told RK is managing the Press statements
- Balraj death, Padmini Arrest, Court trial - Full scale media coverage and Madhu is known in her own capacity but still as Madhubala Rishabh Kundra
Now the chawl drama is public...Seems he will make sure it reaches media...and if yes this is the first time he is creating a negative image of himself in public against Madhu.
So need to wait...
Feedback to Sourabh Tewari on 9th Feb
@saurabhtewari76 #MEIEJ EP-191-Sat.Wasn't the trauma induced inhuman? What if Madhu had heart-attack? I know the pain. Not done.
@saurabhtewari76 #MEIEJ - Sat'day EP-191. RK was a jerk & a cad. He might have reasons to make himself odious. But still it is inhuman.
@saurabhtewari76 @ColorsTV #MEIEJ - New promo.disgusting. RK now a masochist and creating sympathy for madhu through his haivaniyat ?
@saurabhtewari76 #MEIEJ New Montage-image of lovestory that can never return 2 its pristine conditions.u had 2 destroy it for heroine track
Why the upcoming drama might sell

This track is actually like a take-turns.It's a major success track in saas-bahu serials. I'm just jolted to see it in MEIEJ.
One person pretends to be bad for some reason, audience fumes and weeps.
Matters get sorted. A few other tracks go through.
Some months later, the shoe is on the other foot, and the other half of the couple is now pretending to be bad.
But since the dearly loved target has already played the role, it's harder to get the convincing and estrangement accomplished this time.
So be badder and more. Finally, track in place.
Repeat, and score. It's a hit, any number of times.

Originally posted by Soundarya22Agree with you. I have become so involved myself, it is distracting me too much. Public humiliation of his love is something I did'nt expect... in fact Raghuvir Shekhawat's quotes say separation etc is all part of a love story. But public humiliation in a love story? am trying to think of other reel life parallels.
Soundarya, there are plenty of reel life parallels.
Anyway, after so much of tweeting from the MB team , i guess we have no choice but to wait and watch. They are tweeting because they want to keep the interest alive. Maybe worried that tomorrow's episode could bring on another eruption by fans.

@bold: Yes there are some but none to this extent and the backlash in each case has been immense...Salman Khan has an image of slapping his lady love in public. Karishma's divorce and custody battle was really ugly...especially in light of the fact that the couple eventually reconciled. Regardless the fact remains that they have done irreparable damage to RK's character and they have not done any favors to Madhu's character either.
@purple: The way I see it, every show has a niche and timing not unlike movies. We have moved through story based movies (oldies) to action movies(AB movies, Sunny deol) to Romance(hahk, mpk, qsqt) to a more realistic and balanced storylines. There was a time story based shows were immensely popular like Buniyaad, nukkad and epic hum log. Then Ekta kapoor style shows were immensely popular- twisted plots, plastic surgeries, illogical revenge plots, multiple marraiges, generation leaps formed the backbone of the show spiced with indian culture and functions. They were fascinating for a while and then everyone started getting bored...if you see her shows are not rating very high of trp scale at this point. Then we moved on to romance based dramas- sucess of KMH, IPKKND, Geet are all testament to it. Now people are beginning to look for a balance between genres. I am not saying that the older genres are not popular just that viewers expect a more sleeker and tight script with a logical progression.
MB debuted as melodrama but trp troubles pushed it into romance genre, they served saas- bahu drama and kitchen politics...despite being illogical we took it instride but now they have gone overboard.I often wonder how is it that the writers are unable to see the clunkiness of plot though it comes intutively to us.
From my perspective...we don't have any choice..if you like it... see it or move on to something more interesting. I think when a writer says" do not get invested in my writing because it is fiction", he is saying I screwed up and I am not sure how to fix this now. As for seperation being a part of lovestory...yes they are but they are almost always due to extraneous factors not by making of couple themselves due to some unfathomable reason.
By Myself
As I track MEIEJ TRP performance vis-a-vis the story elements, I have seen they are being true to catering "larger than life drama". And for exactly the same reason...forget the teens here, look at wives, mommies, working women...we are conditioned to have stable entertainment, that will not let us get evoked in questioning thoughts, but put us to sleep, by dulling our senses, so that we get up again for the next morning rigamarole of kitchen, housekeeping, groceries, laundry, work, commute, networking with family/friends etc...we are now drawn to this drama. Why, now instead of changing the channel, we are all watching this show...and look at our husbands and children and our friends...don't u see for the first time, or may be from a long time...we see our husbands non-plussed at our emotional involvement with the serial, our kids seeing our addiction, they know mommy is worried for some reason...but aren't they now considerate ?????
Its like in western movies...suddenly a house-wife wants her day-off from being a house-wife and so starts doing things for herself and she enjoys that time...and then her family appreciates her more for the loss they see briefly. I am sure all you are feeling guilty for neglecting your families, but did you all see the change around you that ...your family might have become supportive of you...as if something ails you and they just want to give you time.
That's why I like good gripping story, bringing all your emotions out. Watching Telugu bombastic movies of Dasari Narayana Rao, my mother's face in in trance...its melodrama and loud...but as the dialogues grip her righteous, sagitarian mind, we kids instinctively knew what was pulling her in. Instead of the film, we used to watch her from various angles...brother used to call us sisters aside and poke fun at her, me used to admonish him and sister sometimes used to join him or mother her more...But what I am saying is...we used to enjoy watching mother transported from her duty of mother, wife, house-keeper and loved to see her emotions that otherwise we never saw over her tough exterior persona. That trance of hers used to make me see her in a different light and I guess, made me love her more.
So a drama has to be emotionally involving...and if it becomes loud, ugly, unrealistic to grab our attention, tempt a HARD SOUL as my mother, who thinks watching TV and Cinema is GUILTY PLEASURE, then I am ALL UP FOR IT. Because people like my mother are repressed personalities due to assumed roles in their daily life...and ART is LIBERATING them from that. In the end, emotionally it is gaining for her and her family. She is healthy to have released something of her, given an adequate emotional response and likewise her family has seen a different facet of hers, without us getting bothered into creating that real life event scenario for her.
Hence, this is the reason, why MEIEJ, in the name of LOUD Drama is selling. The more the drama, the higher the TRPs. You all need to judge from the angle of what is that pulls us to MEIEJ. Yes, the suspense is killing us, now suspense is gone, we see a despicable man...we feel like doing something to him...In all of this...just see to it, question yourself..."Is it the case of you being that BATMAN, SUPERMAN etc and wanting to save Madhu ? Or any other deeply desired expression towards which you are responding ?"
I am watching MEIEJ because I love the drama created by Rishabh Kundra. Madhu & Co. create a drama which is very mundane, police case karna against wrong, taking care of family, friends, leading a simple life...these are all aspects of life that I know about. WHat is NEW ? NOTHING. I am far better than Madhu & Co. What is it that I do not know ? Rishabh Kundra. How does he save himself, how does he maintain his fame, how does he keep going inspite of his reckless living, how is he creative being a self-destructive man, Why he is so loved ? Why he is so charming ? Why are the promos saying...it is his dream to see Madhu attain fame in Cinema world ? What pleasure is that gonna give him...so look at me...I have a MYSTERY KA BHANDAAR. WIll I ever get bored ? Nope. When in August I joined, I saw the man marrying in drunken state...I wanted to see how people react. Seems everyone was thinking like me to waut for the other to react, while each of us enjoyed the drama. Thing is without giving money, the responsibility to be public witness of that marriage in real life, I was still enjoying a drama of bizarre kind and was testing my brain and heart on what they think...and till date it is like the INNOCENT state of my mind, which did not know, like a child what to judge about it. Laws are formed when we see repeats happening...but first of anything just stupefies us and bewilders us...and only slowly we start knowing to REACT. So now Rishabh Kundra doing this to his wife...it is drawing our reactions like normal...because we saw a normal love story and we know how to respond...but again, Rishabh was never that normal person that we have in our lives...so why don't we just respect him as he is.
Yesterday I was telling Zoya...You know...I just don't care how much he torments Madhu in privacy...but the moment he does anything in public, as a society person, I will censure him. Yes, the saturday episode seemed a mindless drama to me instead of lambasting RK...because it seemed wierd and all pointed out to a purpose...on Monday, I might vehemently react and will need a spokesperson to voice my thoughts...that's when it occurred to me that RK is empowering Madhu by being a dirtying himself, taking all the onus of bad upon himself, he is himself telling everyone I am doing this to her...otherwise Madhu would have protected him.
Then I thought...why people are so afraid of public scandals majorly...and why some play with public...here in I found my answer. My mother fears society and that has been her downfall in many ways...she listens to its edicts too many times...my sibs escape it, they have always ran away from public gaze and like to be private...whereas I have been comfortable. I talk to people very naturally and keep doing my work...I have seen the public into their eyes in an abstract manner and I never fear it like my mother...though this have never fixed my stage fright or to be the presenter...but thing is I know in my case, what the society wants of me...And yet I am not afraid to fight with my father in the same public, if its going to achieve something. I become the bad disrespecting girl and yet I had answered the society; at that expense of my social good girl image, that I give a damn about your patriarchal bull shit, I am here talking to my father and he and I know what it is about and none of this will jeopardize anything between us, but he will know how to be considerate to his family...Its a way of teaching him of what he would have never thought me capable of doing it.
Inspite of all this...I want society to say what it has to say...but also I am saying...MEIEJ or other soaps, do question things that bother us at the back of our mind.
