Sarson ka saag with Paneer - Tera Mujhse Hai Pahle Ka Naata Koi
Episode 151  Discussion: 21st Dec 2012

Events of the Episode
  1. Padmini returns to Shamsher's house. Shamsher tells Padmini that he can't the pain anymore of his broken family and he dies each time he remembers Madhu's unforgiving eyes that have no pride left in them for him.
  2. Padmini goes to RK Mansion and entreats Madhu that she should forgive Shamsher like she herself has forgiven Shamsher after RK coming and explaining to her that she was wrong in leaving Shamsher when all he had done was to protect Madhu...with ofcourse a misconception that Madhu was unhappy in RK's care.
  3. Madhu is surprised that RK has orchestrated something and she didn't have any inkling about it. But she has a dilemma about how to forgive Shamsher when he has tried to Kill RK three times.
  4. RK asks Padmini and Madhu to come along with him. He drives them to the Chawl and while dropping them RK asks Madhu to forgive Shamsher and make up with him. He then leaves for the studio.
  5. Madhu forgives Shamsher...an endearing scene with her helping him fixing the broken frame of hers and Trishna's pic and finally hugging him.
  6. Meanwhile at the studio, while RK is shooting Balraj barges into the studio with ambulance siren making noise. Not only that he disrupts RK's shooting. The director is angry at the disturbance. RK is angry too and asks Balraj to leave. Bittuji takes Balraj to RK's vanity van , asks him to wait there and gives him the newspaper to read.
  7. Balraj starts reading daily forecast, and finds that it is written that he is going to encounter his past. There alongside, Madhu is entering the studio. Here Balraj sniffs the Sarson ka saag curry cooked by Madhu for RK and starts eating it. The taste reminds him somewhat of Padmini. There upon knowing that RK's shot is going on, Madhu decides to wait for RK in the vanity van. When she enters the vanity van, she sees Balraj done with all food, which makes her terribly upset and angry. Episode ends.

Episode Take.
Can it become anymore farcical ?  LOL!!!
Yet another attempt to feed her husband fails !!  :)))))
In the soap calender, I am not sure, how old Madhu and RK's marriage is, but at real since I started watching the show, it is now 4 months old. And till date, I saw her feeding only Daliya and Dal-chawal to her husband.

All I have to say is that today's episode was far more qualitative in drama than yesterday. Will give a B+

Yesterday it was pure clunk ... Pure Contrived Clunk ...to introduce Balraj Singh Chaudhary. It was madness unleashed with all kind of clunk symbolism to tug at viewer heart...the tool of sensationalism used and making everything contrived from scene to scene.

However today, in contrast, each scenes were logical build-up from Wednesday episode. If we forget yesterday's episode, today could also have been the introduction to BSC Madness for both RK and Madhu...plus so much of other drama happening simultaneously. Post RK's meet, Padmini taking her mini-steps to patch up, then Shamsher opening up his heart's wish to Padmini, and Padmini coming to Madhu and requesting her to forgive her father even from a wife's point of view, then RK finishing what he had set out to do...releasing his wife's pent up emotions for her father by asking her to forgive him from her heart, then Madhu forgiving Shamsher under the pretext of fixing the threesome...their family of 3's ...Father and Daughters. A perfect circle of human and relational understanding...juxtaposed and helped by each other as family members should be helped.

Must say Trishna set the ball rolling to the extent of calling BSC back into their lives...that's the preparation or Catalysis she caused from Monday to Friday this week.

And of all the clunk symbolism shown from last two three days...today's practical scene of Balraj meeting with his past through reading the daily forecast from a daily newspaper was more convincing and realistic to me. Its like...I am having this deja vu...why do I get reminded of my past, who is this who seems so much out of my past. And the fear on his face, how can his past come back to face him was so much to watch for.

For the first time I actually enjoyed the chawl scene...the silent forgiveness and acceptance was beautifully done.

Now the grouse.

Why does DD look as though she's walked in from the sun? Her face is never made up, her hair is never combed. Her clothes are fine but the effect is negated thanks to her unkempt appearance. All the other women in the show are always in tip top condition..hair in place, check. Make up on, check.

Grouse 2:
Balraj is nothing but a comic caricature now. Nobody would have dared to talk to him as dismissively as Bittuji did today and live to see another day. So, it begs the question...is Balraj needy? He doesn't seem to mind being pushed around  , dismissed and even told to shut up! Unless, it's all an act on his part and the real demon will burst out soon.

Pippa,

Agree.

Priyachand started an andolan against Madhu/DD looks/makeup/hair-style and that Kaftan types Dupatta. Post is over main forum.

And Balraj...I called him a nincompoop yesterday, because that is how he came across to me in the police custody cell along with RK and now. It seems ...in Mutihari jungle, back at his home-territory, he seems to be a terror...but in Mumbai Mahanagari, he seems fish out of water, so anyone can shoo him away. Though...even in the jail and later today at the studio, we see the man as observant of everything... he seems to be getting everything...Bittuji character (wafadaar), RK's weakness for a certain woman in his life etc.

So beneath the nincompoop visage, he certainly comes across greater nuisance. He was reminding me of Laloo Prasad Yadav sitting at the Republic Day Parade grounds when the National Anthem was being played and the TV broadcasters focussed on him for the major part of that anthem live capture.

But then I don't doubt Zutshi or Balraj character...I doubt the ability of the story writers to make it convincing story for Balraj. If I get to say...its so easy...the guy is just mad and unpredictable...so spread mayhem...in as much as a riotous as it can get. Then out of that riot and mess, only Balraj can see a pattern.

Madhu ki ek pita se patch-up and doosre se mulaqaat...

It was quite a good episode with the theme of mending relations being back..

Malik sharing that he wants his chota-sa parivaar back to Padmini and she in turn trying to bring Madhu and Malik closer... Initially hesitant at first, Madhu finally relents with RK's perfect reasoning... The patch-up scene was neatly done with no OTT drama, no words spoken but letting the heart-felt emotions take center stage..

Has Radha forgiven Malik ?(Not that I care, but this question came to my mind when I saw her welcoming Pads)

For the first time, I saw some director showing his displeasure to RK at the time of Balraj loud, and crazy interruption of the shoot.

Balraj eats Madhu's hand-made sarson ka saag and remembers his biwi no. 2... I know he loved his biwi ka haath ka khana but he remembers it even after 20 or more years... Did he love her back then in the ishq-wala sense?(Can someone answer this)

RK never gets to eat his biwi's haath ka khana... Poor Madhu, uski phooti kismat!!!! The only thing/ matter in which RK becomes her priority is in making food and feeding him and RK is missing out on this...

For me the highlight of the show today was Padmini and Malik. They say so little… yet mean so much.  Padmini is back to where she belongs. The conversation started off as if everything was normal. Return of normalcy was so important for both of them, their family. Malik's 'Thank You' was heartfelt. I liked what was spoken today with regard to Padmini and Malik… simply because it implied a deeper bond than the children that bond them together. 'Mera ek chota parivar hai jissi bikarne se bachaliya apne'.  A relationship which doesn't have a name, yet so profund… their home is incomplete without the other. As trivial as it sounds, they have a background music now.
Finally, Malik had a chance to let out the pain he has been silently suffering because he didn't have someone to share it with… It came so naturally infront of Padmini…. The feeling of having failed his daughter by breaking her trust and heart. The way he mentioned the look in Madhu's eyes… it was evident that they will never allow him peace.  He still didn't ask to be forgiven… just like the way he didn't ask for forgiveness from Padmini… He let them know he was sorry, but it was their right to forgive him or not and he is willing to accept it.
Coming to my most favourite scene of the day… Padmini's conversation with Madhu. I said that before, the CVs nailed with the lines they gave Padmini. Padmini was there for Malik, and Malik alone. The way she conveyed Malik's pain, his repentance, her own confusion with how to deal with the situation and her sheer desperation to find solace for Malik was heartwarming. Somewhere in between she let out how she leaving Malik(not his home, but him!) was not an solution. I wanted to see the woman in Padmini stand up for Malik and wow that was some treat. Bring on Ballu, Padmini is well over him… it be just a closure now… A well deserved one.
Coming to Madhu, I wont say if she is right or Wrong, but it was sad to see that she needed Padmini and RK to remind her of what Malik has done. I am sad because as RK said, she not only chose to forgive him but fell in love too... didn't Malik deserve that chance is all that makes me sad. I agree that when RK asked her to come along, Malik was one of the people who held her back… but wish she had acted on it herself rather than having to be physically dropped off at the chawl with a belief that she will patch up with her father. My only disappointment is that it should have been voluntary.  The scene between Malik and Madhu was beautifully done… the understanding when they worked to fix the frame and the hug… no words exchanged… just allowing themselves to feel the peace finally.
Loved RK for what he did today for Madhu, Padmini and Malik. I always kept saying that RK and Madhu have to set right their past before making a new beginning and Kudos to RK for initiating it and ensuring the Maliks are reunited.
Now coming to Ballu… is this guy plain CRAZY? An obsessed fan of Superstar RK? Or has a hidden agenda? The guy scares me… I guess he is there for that. I was pondering about yday's episode and I realised Ballu had done the same thing with RK, what RK had done to Madhu a long time ago. Ballu had locked the doors not to allow RK out just like Madhu was stuck in the studio on the night of her engagement. Today he barged into the sets just like RK had barged into the Maliks. Mere coincidence ya much more?
Once again, Thank you CVs for this episode, It is much appreciated!

Dil ka rishta rakhna hain tabhi aasuoan ka rishata hoga...nahi to rone nahi doonga...
RK even in persuasion can not loose his touch of demanding and slight threatening...Every
dialogue is twisted to suit his unique personality...well done writers...by the way Is this how he first discovered that Madhubala RK se dil se connect hogayi...like when he saw her flooding tears, lying next to him thinking of all that he went through...chawl scene was done really beautifully...very touching...Loved it...Also liked RK's 'you should not only forgive him but, should hug and thank too'...'forgiveness' for trying to kill his daughters abuser (that's what Mallik thought) and thanks for loving her to the extent of even killing to protect her...

RK won another fan...he made a place in his sasur BSC's paagal heart ...Balraj was wishing for a son like him...now had to watch Ballu's love for RK ...how would RK escape from this madman's trap ...he seems to be stalking him everywhere...By the way what is it with the shooting scenes...before when the track was between RK and Madhu, the scenes used to be between the hero and heroine and dialogues on the line of Ishq, junoon and all... now, they are conveniently between Mother and Son and all about a mother/parent giving birth and also thinking of killing and son however he is,is still the son ... But,I like it, how they blend in cinema and real life (though its still reel life for us)

Just like RK, even Balraj seems to have got intrigued/attracted by that fury glare of Madhubala...These three seem to have that magnetic effect on each other...Spotting that fury in her eyes was enough for Balraj's instincts to doubt a connection between him and Madhu...overall a nice episode with a touching father, daughter union and relief in shamsher when he sees Padmini back in the house was heart warming ...

2)Why is Ballu hanging around Bollywood? What happened to his old business? He almost seems to have toned down in terms of his cruelty...wondering if this is aN act and to what end?

Puja,
Movie financing is not a bad idea. Lot of money like flows into film industry like this. As in one of my friend, who were traditionally into paper business, decided to diversify their business into getting into power sector and movie financing. On the movie financing, they did not want their names to be flashed out or come out in open...they managed it through a syndicate. I mean when I remember my friend, I am always amazed where did he get the crazy idea to get into that business...with so much risk involved. He was proud to tell me that he got more that his expected return. LOL Its like who cares which movie you are producing, just see which pockets of audience it would cater and just target that as your business venture.

Come to think of it I would rather have Trishna become a regional movie star than a Bollywood movie star. So many TV stars star in regional films. Look at Gurmeet, Shweta Tiwari and others...and the famous Ravi Jhankal. Trishna cannot just become a Bollywood star. But then she has a powerful relative in RK. Nepotism speaks.
