To me the most endearing moments of MEIEJ have been RK trying to away with accident case, end the MB Malik or Trishna Malik ...whoever it was who filed the case...then seeing MB Malik visiting his sets out of nowhere when he just tried to make a lampoon of her case over the press conf and she looked so damn out of his world...and him still trying to make heads and tails of it when he is taken by the Police to be spending his time in the Police custody for 4 days.
This is when he suddenly realizes that it is not the accident that he has to bother about...it isthis girl that he has to bother about...because not only she barged into his space, she has taken control of things around him. It is him being played around which is quite an UNKNOWN feeling for him, considering the man who is known to have things his way. He was unable to forgive her for getting registered in his mind. His Superstar aura would have let it go with all that power around him, had it not been for the public slights that he received at the hands of the media which reported that an ordinary girl took him down. This challenged the private man inside him and made him question why he failed to contain the issue. When did a witness became so personally involved rather than the injured/affected person. It was everything beyond his logic. And because, she was no one to him, it all the more nettled him. We can see in his musings of drinking and sculpting then, how he used to contemplate what it means. When he found no meaning at all, he just chose to destroy the person who had the audacity to start this frenzy, this nonsense. He might have abhorred every second of it what he was planning for MB's destruction as it never gave him the satisfaction of answering the big question...Why O Why this happened. Nevertheless, he continued to end her, because the RK persona started enjoying MB expressions around him.
And the all time Hall of Fame moments for me...was him RK Superstar proudly calling her and informing her that he ended her, then RK the Superstar getting slapped, then RK the Superstar getting hurt for that public humiliation, and the Rishabh Kundra the man once again asking himself where has it gone wrong again. Him drinking and watching the slaps again and again...Him...Rishabh Kundra realizing...that now its the situation of the Siamese Twins, He had been conjoined with MB. "Na Nigalte banta hai, na Ugalte Banta hai" And the resolved Rishabh Kundra just gets up and goes to meet MB and propose marriage to her. The marriage proposal is so imprinted on my mind. Each and every line so right that even MB agrees to its correctness and breaks down by the end of it...Why O Why this had to happen ?
I just loved the man there...how when he realizes that their fates are intertwined in such a crazy manner, that he first makes it a meaningful relationship for society and media. In one single stroke, he cleanses the bad publicity he created for MB by planning to marry her. And then he chooses to isolate him and MB away from all the convention of the marriage so that each of them though conjoined together in Siamese twins fashion, will still be leading independent lives until they know what is all this. Only a highly intellectual mind can think of this...And it really does surprise him in course of days, that the girl who came into his life like a tempestuous wind is no tempest at all. This just leaves him baffled more and that anger when he tries to take it on her, she doesn't keep quiet and gives it back to him. And therein starts their journey together, knowing each other in friction and more so knowing themselves through each other. And with each realization about the other and about their own inner core, they start making peace with themselves and the other self.
That's why I liked that 4 phera marriage so much. Its almost a live-in relationship for them and yet that weight of being conjoined by force unknown to them...the sanction by God and Society and their rebel to it is kept alive in both of them; disallowing them to slide into conventional routine without true realization of why they have been brought together by fate like this...
The entire marriage sequence, post marriage hospital and RK Mansion scenes are the most memorable and meaningful scenes for me. The loud man and the silent woman. The active and passive voices of the same speech...for how many times you can see there them really having any disagreement?
They agree on everything though looking so different.
By the end of Karva Chauth track, the 4 phera marriage loses its icy edge of having to be isolated from each other in thought; though conjoined as always. It gets the feeling, the warm feeling that starts to melt each other in the relationship they have. They both are happy to realize that they like each other and they start being happy about unexplored things about themselves...like MB falling in love to the point of effacing herself in his presence...like Rishabh knowing that he is still the feeling man and surprisingly it does not hurt him...
However what Rishabh Kundra again does not understand is what does it all mean ? There needs to have some meaning there ? Why did they have to meet in such gory manner ? Was it just for him to realize that he can love...yet again ? He can have something for himself ? Nowdays he is vacillating between being a happy and an insecure man...because he truly doesn't know why MB had been destined to be made part of his life. Even we don't know...Let's see where it goes... For now he thinks it was all for him and his new found happiness...May be that is not the case Rishabh Kundra. God has other plans for you two together...
Out of this ramble I decided that I am gonna capture various shades of this contemplating man.
